Together?

Amo non amo (internationally released as Together? and I Love You, I Love You Not) is a 1979 Italian drama film directed by Armenia Balducci, a screenwriter and TV documentarian at her feature debut. The Italian progressive rock band Goblin created the soundtrack for the film.

Together is a 2002 album recorded by Scottish pop star Lulu as an album of duets with various artists, including Elton John, Paul McCartney, Joe Cocker, Cliff Richard, Westlife and Ronan Keating, amongst others. The album reached #4 in the UK album charts and was certified Gold.

Together (French band)

Together is a French house duo consisting of DJ Falcon and one member of Daft Punk, Thomas Bangalter. They released several singles on Bangalter's own record label, Roulé. The duo released two songs: "So Much Love to Give" and "Together".

Recording history

Falcon had first worked with Bangalter when Falcon had sought to release his debut EP Hello My Name Is DJ Falcon on Bangalter's label Roulé. Falcon reminisced on how their birthdays were only a day apart; Bangalter thus chose the day in between to work on a song together, although they danced more than they produced.

The song "Together" was released in 2000 while Together's second track, "So Much Love to Give", was released in 2002. An imported version of the single peaked at #71 in the UK Singles Chart in January 2003. "So Much Love to Give" contains a sample of "Love's Such a Wonderful Thing" by The Real Thing, which repeats throughout the song. The same sample was also used by Freeloaders in their 2005 single also titled "So Much Love to Give", and by Fedde le Grand, in his song "So Much Love".

Pearl River (Mississippi–Louisiana)

The Pearl River is a river in the U.S. states of Mississippi and Louisiana. It forms in Neshoba County, Mississippi from the confluence of Nanih Waiya and Tallahaga creeks. and has a meander length of 444 miles (715 km). The lower part of the river forms part of the boundary between Mississippi and Louisiana. The river contains large areas of bottomland hardwood swamp and cypress swamp, providing habitat for many species of wildlife including sturgeon and black bears. There was once hope that Ivory-billed woodpeckers might survive here, but this now seems unlikely. The mouth of the river provides important marsh habitat along salinity gradients; these marshes have been the subject of many scientific studies. It is considered to be one of the most critical areas of natural habitat remaining in Louisiana.

Tributaries and hydrology

The Yockanookany and Strong rivers are tributaries on the upper section and the Bogue Chitto is a tributary on the lower section. The Bogue Chitto's mean low-water discharge is nearly six times the mean low-water discharge of the Pearl River at Jackson, Mississippi, according to a 1936 government report of the Mississippi Planning Commission. Northeast of Jackson, the Ross Barnett Reservoir is formed by a 1962 dam. Average annual rainfall is about 52 inches in the upper third of the basin, and below Jackson the basin rainfall increases to 64 inches or more. The Yockanookany River along with the Lobutcha, Tuscolameta, and Pelahatchie Creeks are major tributaries to the river north of Jackson.

Pearl (poem)

Pearl (Middle English: Perle) is a late 14th-century Middle English poem by an unknown author. With elements of medieval allegory and dream vision genre, the poem is written in a North-West Midlands variety of Middle English and highly—though not consistently—alliterative; there is a complex system of stanza linking and other stylistic features.

A father, mourning the loss of his "perle [pearl]", falls asleep in a garden; in his dream he encounters the 'Pearl-maiden'—a beautiful and heavenly woman—standing across a stream in a strange landscape. In response to his questioning and attempts to obtain her, she answers with Christian doctrine. Eventually she shows him an image of the Heavenly City, and herself as part of the retinue of Christ the Lamb. When the Dreamer attempts to cross the stream, he awakens suddenly from his dream and reflects on its significance.

The poem survives in a single manuscript, the Cotton Nero A.x, which includes two other religious narrative poems: Patience, and Cleanness, and the romance Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. All are thought to be by the same author, dubbed the "Pearl poet" or "Gawain poet", on the evidence of stylistic and thematic similarities.

Stay (Bernard Butler song)

"Stay" is the debut single from Bernard Butler released in January 1998. It was taken from the album People Move On and charted at number 12 on the UK Singles Chart.

Background

The song begins with a gentle acoustic guitar, which leads into Butler's vocals. Drums, electric guitar, keyboards and backing vocals all get introduced gradually, before coming together in one last climax and quiet coda. Butler has said that "Stay" is not a love song but a song about change. "The process of change is hard but you've got to do it. It's about when you know you've got to do something but there's an element of risk. It's about when I first went to France to record. A lot of the lyrics come from a conversation with Elisa, my wife. I wrote them on the train over to France."

The music video for the title song was directed by David Mould, whose directing credits include Suede's "Trash", the first single released after Butler's departure. B-side "Hotel Splendide" features lead vocals from Edwyn Collins.
