The VI Havana Cigar Festival paid a special tribute to Sir Winston Churchill, one of the most illustrious Cuban cigar smokers.
Sir Winston''''''''s passion for Cuba''''''''s black tobacco led to his name being attached to one of the most popular types of cigars, the Churchill.
The upcoming opening of the "Floridita" restaurant in London, which will include a Cuban House of Cigars within its walls, has been the primary reason for Wednesday night''''''''s celebration at Havana''''''''s Hotel Nacional.
The original "Floridita" bar and restaurant is in Old Havana and was a favourite stop for both Winston Churchill and author Earnest Hemingway.
Jenny Churchill, Sir Winston''''''''s great-granddaughter, was the guest of honour at last night''''''''s event.
During the celebration held in the gardens of the Hotel Nacional, Ms. Churchill received a humidor as a gift at the hands of Alejandro Robaina, one of Cuba''''''''s most famous tobacco growers and personal friend Sir Winston Churchill.
Robaina''''''''s leaves were always used in the rolling of Churchill''''''''s cigars.
Robaina, whom will turn 85 years old in March, was honored with a large birthday cake in the shape of a cigar and Jenny Churchill brought from England a bust of her famous Great-grandfather as a gift for Robaina.
Alejandro Robaina said he will keep the bronze statue in his home, while Ms. Churchill plans to have the humidor on display at the new London "Floridita".

Not a new story but worth watching again and again! So amazingly touching - the story of Shirley and Jenny, two crippled elephants reunited at The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee after a 22-year separation. The bonding was immediate, intense and unforgettable between the two former circus elephants.
Jenny and Shirley were both at the same circus when Jenny was a calf and Shirley was in her twenty's. They lived one winter together then were separated twenty-two years ago. It is very rare for elephants to display this kind of emotion in captivity, and it's probably the first time such a thing has been documented on film.

Shirley and Jenny: Two Elephants Reunited After More Than 20 Years
Not a new story but worth watching again and again! So amazingly touching - the story of Shirley and Jenny, two crippled elephants reunited at The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee after a 22-year separation. The bonding was immediate, intense and unforgettable between the two former circus elephants. Jenny and Shirley were both at the same circus when Jenny was a calf and Shirley was in her twenty's. They lived one winter together then were separated twenty-two years ago. It is very rare for elephants to display this kind of emotion in captivity, and it's probably the first time such a thing has been documented on film. The Magnificent Seven is the name given to the 1996 United States Olympic Women's Gymnastics Team that won the first ever Gold Medal for the United States in the Women's Team Competition at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. The seven members of the team were Shannon Miller, Dominique Moceanu, Dominique Dawes, Kerri Strug, Amy Chow, Amanda Borden, and Jaycie Phelps. Miller, Dawes, and Chow also won individual medals in the 1996 Olympics. The team is perhaps best known for Strug sticking the landing on a vault while injured.
