Released as a single in June 1980, it spent 10 weeks in the UK chart, peaking at number five. It was an even bigger hit in Australia, where it was the 20th best-selling single of the year.
The track features John Giblin on bass.
"Babooshka" became Bush's second top five hit in the UK and was certified silver for sales of over 250,000 by the BPI.

In Version 2 Kate dances in an outdoor environment while wearing a red dress -- this video was produced for the American release.
The song appears on Kate's 1978 debut album, The Kick Inside, and was also re-recorded in 1986 for the greatest-hits album The Whole Story.

Strangely enough, Hounds of Love was no less complicated in its structure, imagery, and extra-musical references (even lifting a line of dialogue from Jacques Tourneur's Curse of the Demon for the intro of the title song) than The Dreaming, which had been roundly criticized for being too ambitious and complex.

Catherine "Kate" Bush (born 30 July 1958) is an English singer-songwriter, musician and record producer. Her eclectic musical style and idiosyncratic vocal style have made her one of the United Kingdom's most successful solo female performers of the past 30 years.
In 1978, at the age of 19, Bush topped the UK Singles Chart for four weeks with her debut single "Wuthering Heights", becoming the first woman to have a UK number one with a self-written song. She has since released ten albums, three of which topped the UK Albums Chart, and has had 25 UK Top 40 hit singles including the Top 10 hits "Wuthering Heights", "Running Up that Hill", "King of the Mountain", "Babooshka", "The Man with the Child in His Eyes", and "Don't Give Up".
In 1987, she won a Brit Award for Best British Female Solo Artist, and in 2002, her songwriting ability was recognised with an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music. During the course of her career, she has also been nominated for three Grammy Awards. After her 1979 tour – the only concert tour of her career – Bush released the 1980 album Never for Ever, which made her the first British solo female artist to top the UK album charts and the first female artist ever to enter the album chart at Number 1. She is also the first (and to date only) female artist to have Top 5 albums in the UK charts in 5 successive decades.

The fanatically religious Zanscare begins to conquer Earth, and the weak Federation is unable and even unwilling to do anything about it. Only the League Militaire, a resistance group mostly made up of the remaining Earthnoids, and its newest weapon - the Victory Gundam - stand in the way of the Zanscare Empire. Usso Ebbing, a 13-year old boy, takes the controls of the Victory Gundam in this series, making him the youngest hero in any Gundam series to date.

Kate Bush - Preludes & Sunsets (The Ultimate Aerial Dance party Experiment)
Kate Bush - Preludes & Sunsets (The Ultimate Aerial Dance Party Experiment) The original idea for this was to set three 1 hour long playlists entitled "The Aerial Party" (an ultimate collection) - With the three sections to be filled with the works of Kate Bush in the form of remixes. To form a non stop troupe of work that could be played on the Eve of the eclipse to celebrate. The set has thus been reduced into a 1 hour playlist due to my own time constraints, i would have loved to have been able to complete this project in it's entirety as there are many other remixes of Kate's work i could have included into the sets. I still may even revisit this project at a later date when i have more time to complete the dream into reality. In the meantime if you find any remixes worth noting p... -

"I was recently asked about this BBC TV special and I thought I'd share my comments here. Kate: Kate Bush Christmas Special is a stage performance by Kate Bush with her special guest Peter Gabriel. Though most of the songs are not holiday ones, they come from Bush's first three albums (Never for Ever her third album would be released in 1980 after this 1979 TV special was taped). The performances include costumes, choreographed dances and a wind machine, creating an eclectic music TV special to say the least.
This is one of the programs that makes my research quite difficult--because it calls itself a Christmas Special yet it contains only one performance of a Christmas song "December Will Be Magic Again" (a song that wouldn't be released as a single by Bush until the following year, in 1980). TV programming that calls itself a Christmas Special and yet contains little to no Christmas entertainment is actually quite common--especially on the BBC.
Between the end of November and the end of December each year, there is quite a bit of special programming on television. Remember Elvis' 1968 Comeback Special--it aired in December that year and includes only one holiday song, a performance of "Blue Christmas." Is it considered a Christmas special? No, not really. And so, despite its title, the lack of holiday programming in Kate Bush's 1979 TV special means it shouldn't be considered a Christmas special either. But the Kate Bush Christmas Special is certainly worth watching!"

Ce qui était, pour l'époque, très en avance et remarquable.

During the Eclipse which from the northern part of the UK is to
begin at around 9:30am - I intend to play "A Sky Of Honey" while i
watch the Sun rise in the sky and the Moon dance in it's path.
hopefully it stays clear for a perfect view of the event, i don't mind
a few clouds sheepishly wandering by, but British weather is
notoriously difficult and unpredictable, so - fingers and toes
crossed, Red Shoes on - Up to the roof and watch the Sun climb up the Aerial.
