Mala Sinha (Hindi: माला सिन्हा) (born 11 November 1936) is an Indian actress who has worked in Hindi, Bengali and Nepali films. Recognised for her talent and beauty, she went on to become a popular leading actress in Hindi films from the early 1950s until the late 1970s. Sinha has starred in over a hundred film productions: popular ones include Pyaasa (1957), Dhool Ka Phool (1959), Dil Tera Deewana (1962), Gumrah (1963), Himalaya Ki God Mein (1965) and Aankhen (1968).
Sinha was born to Albert Sinha, in a Indian-Nepali Christian family in Kashmir in India. They named her Alda. Her friends at school used to tease her by calling her Dalda (a brand of vegetable oil), so she changed her name to Mala. In her childhood she learnt dancing and singing.
She has never done playback singing in films but has been a singer and has done stage shows in many languages from 1947 to 1975.
Sinha started her career as child artist in Bengali films Jai Vaishno Devi followed by Shri Krishan Leela, Jog Biyog and Dhooli. Noted Bengali director Ardhendu Bose saw her acting in a school play and took permission from her father to cast her as a heroine in his film Roshanara (1952), her cinematic debut.

They decide to get married and move in together along with their respective servants, Pedro and Mary. Nirmal is confident that his parents, Rai Bahadur Ishwardas and mother, as well as younger brother, Anand, and school-going sister, Usha, will welcome Mala with open arms. When he gets a telegram to come home, he accordingly takes Mala with him and they travel via train. Once there, he and Mala will both get a shock when his parents, who have fixed his marriage with Shobha, the daughter of wealthy Diwan Chamanlal, will not only disapprove of Mala but also humiliate her. When Nirmal attempts to defend her, his enraged father asks them to move out, compelling his mother to object, fall down and pass away. Blaming Mala's entry in their house as an ill-omen, Ishwardas reiterates that they leave immediately. The question remains: What will Mala and Nirmal do under these circumstances?

As we gave up hope oh light,
The Dead is crying
Over the mans race at its end
Six years of water pouring from above...
Long ago we stopped staring at the skies,
For the Fallen forever pours his wrath
Tomorrow the Dead will water the Dead
Ther are some things in this world
That never rest...
Like the screams that drown
