Mayan & Aztec Calendars, Prophecy, UFO, Roswell, Ancient Astronaut, Armageddon, Displays
The video shows some interpretations of the meaning of the
Mayan and
Aztec calendars. It explains the origin of the end of the world preditions.
It also shows a display of ancient astronaut information found in the
Roswell UFO museum in
Roswell New Mexico.
Perhaps some of these predictions and information came from ancient astronauts visiting earth in ancient times.
The Roswell UFO museum is at the site of one of the best-documented possible UFO events. It contains much information about a wide variety of UFO related events including
Ancient Astronauts.
It has a display of ancient Mayan artifacts including evidence of ancient astronauts. This has been of interest because of predictions that the world could end on
December 21, 2012. This is from the
Long Count Calendar of the
Ancient Mayans, which ends
on Dec 21 2012. There isn't a lot of information about what the Mayans thought would occur in 2012, but a consensus of opinion is that there will be great change. To some this could mean a positive, spiritual change. To others, it could mean that a catastrophic event may have been predicted, and it might mean the end of the world, as we know it.
Although there is little scientific evidence that anything will happen, there are numerous events that could easily threaten humanity in 2012, including a geomagnetic reversal, a solar storm or supernova, or flu pandemic, or a nuclear war.
December 21 is considered the end-date of a 5125-year-long cycle in the
Mesoamerican Long Count calendar. Some astronomical alignments and numerological formulae have been proposed as relating to this date, although none have been accepted by mainstream scholarship.
This date marks the conclusion of a b'ak'tun—a time period in the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, which was used in
Central America prior to the
European arrival. Although the
Olmec probably invented the Long Count, it became closely associated with the
Maya civilization, whose classic period lasted from 250 to 900
AD. The classic writing system of the
Maya has in general been deciphered, which means that a body of their written and inscribed material has survived from before the European conquest.
Unlike the 260-day tzolk'in used today among the
Maya people, the Long Count was linear rather than cyclical, and kept time roughly in units of
20: 20 days made a uinal, 18 uinals (
360 days) made a tun, 20 tuns made a k'atun, and 20 k'atuns (
144,
000 days or roughly 394 years) made up a b'ak'tun. Therefore, the Mayan date of
8.3.2.10.15 represents 8 b'ak'tuns, 3 k'atuns, 2 tuns, 10 uinals and 15 days.
The writing, the
Popol Vuh, describes the gods as first creating three failed worlds, followed by a successful fourth world where humanity was placed
. In the Maya Long Count, the previous world ended after 13 b'ak'tuns, around 5,125 years. This means the fourth world will now have reached the end of its
13th b'ak'tun, or Mayan date 13.0.0.0.0, on
21 December 2012. Some have written that the completion of a
Great Period of 13 b'ak'tuns would have been of great significance to the Maya. Some say that a suggestion exists that
Armageddon would overtake the degenerate peoples of the world and all creation on the last day of the
13th [b'ak'tun]. Hence our present universe would be annihilated at that time.
The Southwest USA,
Mexico, and central
America area contains much similar activity of interest. For example, these preditions may also relate to UFO phenomena. Some think that the predictions relate to contact between worlds, increased UFO activity, or destruction by aliens, or by a planet or other object crashing into the world.
The Marfa Lights, which some consider UFO phenomena, are near Roswell. The lights are mysterious and unexplained. Some think these lights are UFOs, aliens,
St. Elmo's fire, electrostatic discharges, swamp gas (no swamp), ghosts, or the spirits conquistadores. No one knows for sure.
Scientists have studied them. An example of a mysterious light over Marfa is shown.
Marfa is a historic town. It was built in
Presidio County, which contains the
United State's oldest city. A number of top movies have been made in the scenic area, such as
No Country for Old Men and
There will be blood. The classic
1956 Elizabeth Taylor,
James Dean, and
Rock Hudson movie "
Giant" was filmed here also
Come Back to the
Five and Dime,
Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean.
The area is important for astronomy. The
Hobby-Eberly Telescope,
HET, is one of the largest optical telescopes in the world, with the second largest mirror in the world. It now ranks as the fourth largest telescope in the world.
Recent events such as
Hurricane Sandy and the
Sandy school shootings are horrific enough.
Although no one knows for sure what their works mean, ancient people were just as intelligent as today's people. They made amazing developments in writing, mathematics, astronomy, art, and many other fields, with much less aid than we have today:
