The Persian Empire is any of a series of imperial dynasties centered in Persia (Iran). The first of these was established by Cyrus the Great in 550 BC, with the Persian conquest of Media, Lydia and Babylonia. Several later dynasties "claimed to be heirs of the Achaemenids".
Persian dynastic history was interrupted by the Islamic conquest (651 AD) and later by the Mongol invasion.
The main religion of ancient Persia was Zoroastrianism, but after the 7th century this was replaced by Islam.
In the modern era, a series of Islamic dynasties ruled Persia independently of the universal caliphate. Since 1979 Persia (Iran) has been an Islamic republic.

W. Griffith was the second head football coach for Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas and he held that position for the 1896 season. His overall coaching record at Washburn was 6 wins, 1 losses, and 1 ties. This ranks him number 24th at Washburn in terms of total wins.
David Llewelyn Wark "D. W." Griffith (January 22, 1875 – July 23, 1948), the "Inventor of Hollywood", was an American film director who pioneered modern film-making techniques. He is mostly remembered for the groundbreaking 1915 film The Birth of a Nation, as well as its sequel Intolerance (1916). He is closely associated with his frequent leading lady, Lillian Gish.
Griffith began making short films in 1908, and released his first feature, Judith of Bethulia, in 1913. His film The Birth of a Nation made pioneering use of advanced camera and narrative techniques, and its immense popularity set the stage for the dominance of the feature-length film in the United States. Since its release, the film has been highly controversial for its negative depiction of African Americans and glorification of the Ku Klux Klan. Today it is both lionized for its radical technique and condemned for its racist philosophy. Filmed at a cost of $110,000, it returned millions of dollars in profits, making it, perhaps, the most profitable film of all time, although a full accounting has never been made. The film was subject to boycotts by the NAACP and, after screenings of the film had caused riots at several theaters, the film was censored in many cities, including New York City. Intolerance, his next important film, was, in part, an answer to his critics.
Peter James may refer to:
Of the four stories included in "Intolerance" the one placed in Babylon around 539 B.C. obviously was the one on which most of the unprecedented budget was spent. A massive life-size set of the Great Wall of Babylon was constructed. When the movie was completed it was left at the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Hollywood Boulevard and became a notable landmark for many years during Hollywood's golden era, until it fell into disrepair. 3,000 extras were employed for the movie, which must have been quite the percentage of the Hollywood community at the time (in 1910 the population of Hollywood was only 5.000, but it would climb tot 35.000 in the ten years after). Among the extras were future stars and directors like Douglas Fairbanks, King Vidor, Erich von Stroheim, Tod Browning and W.S. Va...

Top Documentary Films: How the Persian Empire Was Built I have shown in this series of articles that there are several pieces of evidence that the Persian Empire did not last the 200 years proposed by historians but only 21 years as described in the Old Testament. This is an idea I presented in detail in my book, The Fourth Day: Why the Bible is Historically Accurate. My article, "Old Testament History Revised-Jeremiah's Eclipse" provides astronomical evidence from the Bible for this idea and my article, "Old Testament History Revised-The 390 Days of Ezekiel" provides evidence from a famous prophecy from the biblical book of Ezekiel for this idea. This article provides archaeological support for a "short" Persian Empire based on information described in Peter James' book, Centuries of Dar...
The Cyrus Cylinder is one of the most famous objects to have survived from the ancient world. It was inscribed in Babylonian cuneiform on the orders of Persian King Cyrus the Great (559-530 BC) after he captured Babylon in 539 BC. The cylinder is often referred to as the first bill of human rights as it appears to encourage freedom of worship throughout the Persian Empire and to allow deported people to return to their homelands. It was found in Babylon in modern Iraq in 1879 during a British Museum excavation.
Obviously this production was made before Hollywood gave in to American prudishness and started the Hays Code, practically censoring anything referring to sexuality in American movies from 1930 to 1968. But in 1916 audiences seemed hardly bothered by some nudity, they had more trouble with the movies incoherent structure and its lenth (it tells 4 different stories and lasts over 3 hours)... The staging and art direction were partly inspired by the works of 19th century painter Lawrence Alma-Tadema. It is said that the orgy sequence from cost $200,000 at the time, more than twice as much as the entire budget for Griffith's previous film "Birth of a Nation" . The total movie budget is estimated to have been close to $2 million (about $46 million today).

Yo 'Pac yo, I heard you got beat up by the police
Got a big fat lawsuit and everything
Niggaz just wanna know
if you still gon' be on some crooked-ass sheeeit
[2Pac]
Please tell me what's a nigga to do, and it's true
Ain't nuttin new, so I do, what I can to get through
Now first they had me trapped and now I'm pissed
A loaded AK-47 lay under my head so I don't trip
One motherfucker from the Underground
And Big Stretch buckin niggaz if they fuck around
Yo why I got beef with police?
Ain't that a bitch that motherfuckers got a beef with me
They make it hard for me to sleep
I wake up at the slightest peep, and my sheets are 3 feet deep
I guess it's hard for you to see
But now I'm pointin the finger at police
instead of them motherfuckers blamin me
I got the right to bear a pistol
And when the punk motherfuckers get to trippin I got shit too
And maybe then you'll see the truth (hell yeah)
But until then, I gotta do what I do
and stay a crooked nigga too
[Chorus: Raphael Saadiq]
I've got to do, what I'm gon' do
I'm gon' say what I'm gon' say
I'm gon' live how I live - how else you want a nigga to live?
I'm gon' do, what I do
I'm gon' say, what I say
I'm gon' live how I live - how do you want a nigga to live?
[2Pac]
Y'know you really can't say that ya blame niggaz
Fuck bein tame, set aflame, time to aim triggers
2Pac'll spark a revolution, fuck the Constitution
I want my bucks for restitution
This time you got a bigger problem
Time to face the niggaz from South Central, Oakland, Brooklyn and Harlem
And we ain't shootin at each other
That's my motherfuckin brother, so Dave Duke, run for cover
And all the bitches from the Klan
Come feel the wrath of a black man that doesn't smoke crack and
I don't drink St. Ides (fuck that!)
Genuine Draft, ganja ganja, and my fuckin tec-9
They know they scared to see us sober
Stop drinkin King Cobra, and niggaz'll take the world over
It's all up to you (up to you)
Blame the Korean, blame the jew, or be a crooked nigga too
[Chorus]
[2Pac]
Aiyyo! Why me? Play like Jasmine Guy and try me
I'll be damned if I die, come look at the rage in my eyes G
They got my homies in a jail cell
And it's the Rebel and the Devil, and one of us is goin to Hell
I got the whole place covered, with loc'd out brothers
And nuttin but love for each other
So motherfucker make a motion
I give a fuck, slice you up, and throw your ass in the ocean
Temperatures drop; see it's cool to shoot a nigga
but they hate it when we pop the cops
That's when they gettin petrol
You better watch your step or you'll be left on death row
But I learn to look ahead of me
Stay strapped watch your back keep your eyes on the enemy
We blowin up precincts and OOOH
You can't fuck with the crew, of crooked nigga too
[Chorus]
[Raphael Saadiq]
It's the coldest town from here to Georgia
(I'm a crooked nigga too)
It's the coldest town from here to Georgia
It's the coldest town from here to Georgia
(I'm a crooked.. crooked nigga too)
It's the coldest town from here to Georgia
Y'all gon' stop fuckin with me
[Chorus - repeat to fade]
