Jermaine Lamarr Cole (born January 28, 1985), better known by his stage name J. Cole, is an American hip hop recording artist and record producer. Cole first received recognition in 2007, following the release of his debut mixtape The Come Up. Shortly after the release of The Come Up in 2009, Cole was contacted by American rapper Jay Z and subsequently signed to his record label Roc Nation. In that same year, Cole released his second mixtape, The Warm Up, which was itself followed by Cole's third mixtape, Friday Night Lights, in 2010.
His debut album, Cole World: The Sideline Story, was released on September 27, 2011. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, Top R&B Albums and Top Rap Albums chart, selling more than 218,000 in its first week. He received a nomination for Best New Artist at the 54th Grammy Awards. Cole's second album, Born Sinner, was released on June 18, 2013. The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200; however, Born Sinner later rose to number one, giving Cole his second number one on the chart. His third album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, was released on December 9, 2014 and also debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, giving Cole his third number one album, which reached Platinum status. J. Cole became the first rapper to go platinum in 25 years without features.

J. Cole's first performance of his powerful song 'Be Free' on The Late Show with David Letterman while promoting his newest album 2014 Forest Hills Drive. This song is a tribute to Mike Brown and Eric Garner. A powerful decision for J. Cole not to promote one of the songs off his album, but a song crying for social justice.

During his interview with J. Cole for the #MLKNow event, Creed director Ryan Coogler accidentally let it slip that Cole is married. Although he confirmed his engagement a while back, he's been pretty silent about it since then. There were even rumors that the couple had called of their engagement. This development is sure to put those rumors to rest, as the Jay Z signee confirmed that they had in fact tied the knot. http://www.pabloproductionsllc.com A Pablo Production Directed, filmed and edited by Paul Fant www.PabloProductionsllc.com Last but not least, make sure to follow me on social media! In Sway’s highly anticipated interview with J. Cole, this NC rapper opens up about all things music, Dreamville and breaks down his current mind state. Catching up with him in his dressing room after his Forest Hills Drive show in San Diego, CA, he talks about fellow tour mates, Big Sean and YG — and why it was important to have these two rappers on board. In fact, YG was the first to tell us that Cole fought for him to stay on the tour after the “powers-that-be” attempted to kick him off. “I seen the way he moves, and just in my interactions with him, he’s not stupid. So, I had to break it down to him, people are expecting him to fail so every decision you and your homeboys make, make it true or false.” What about Big Sean? “Big Sean is on fire. Me and Big Sean came in the game togeth...

http://www.hardknock.tv Four years after their first interview J Cole and Nick Huff Barili link up for their fourth in-depth interview. In part 3 J Cole explains the inspiration to his track Rich Niggaz from his album Born Sinner. Cole breaks down lyrics and tells stories to give deeper insight to the song. "Understand that when I start writing I don't always know where it's headed maybe until midway through the first verse or something," said Cole. "So, the first thing I write is 'I hate rich niggas. God damn it. Cause I ain't never had a lot, damn it.' And it's perfect that that came out because the thought that's been in my head or was in my head at the time was like—like I told you earlier, I used to have such a problem with like with people with money. It was almost a bitterness an...
