Whisky or whiskey is a type of distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains (which may be malted) are used for different varieties, including barley, corn (maize), rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, generally made of charred white oak.
Whisky is a strictly regulated spirit worldwide with many classes and types. The typical unifying characteristics of the different classes and types are the fermentation of grains, distillation, and aging in wooden barrels.
The word whisky (or whiskey) is an anglicisation of the Classical Gaelic word uisce (or uisge) meaning "water" (now written as uisce in Irish Gaelic, and uisge in Scottish Gaelic). Distilled alcohol was known in Latin as aqua vitae ("water of life"). This was translated to Classical Gaelic as Irish: uisce beatha/Scottish Gaelic: uisge beatha "water of life". Early forms of the word in English included uskebeaghe (1581), usquebaugh (1610), usquebath (1621), usquebae (1715).
Whiskey is a one-act play by Terrence McNally.
Whiskey premiered Off-Broadway at Theater at Saint Clements's Church on April 29, 1973 and closed on May 6, 1973. Directed by Kevin O'Connor, it starred Tom Rosqui (as I. W. Harper), Charlotte Rae (as Tia Maria), Beeson Carroll (as Johnny Walker), Susan Browning (as Southern Comfort), and Michael Sacks (as Jack Daniels).
One of many McNally plays to explore his Texas roots, the play is set in Houston, and involves a cowboy troupe called the Lush Thrushes, the five members of a TV show, all named after iconic American liquors, and their performing horse Whiskey. The character's names are I. W. Harper, Tia Maria, Johnny Walker, Southern Comfort, and Jack Daniels. All five characters are drunk throughout the play and end up burning to death in a hotel fire. Only the bad tempered horse Whiskey survives. In an epilogue we see the five dead cowboys and cowgirls in heaven, all dressed in white, still drinking, and bemoaning the fact that Whiskey will now have the show all to himself.
Whisky (Scottish English; otherwise whiskey) is an alcoholic beverage.
Whisky or whiskey may refer to:
In law, a trial is a coming together of parties to a dispute, to present information (in the form of evidence) in a tribunal, a formal setting with the authority to adjudicate claims or disputes. One form of tribunal is a court. The tribunal, which may occur before a judge, jury, or other designated trier of fact, aims to achieve a resolution to their dispute.
Where the trial is held before a group of members of the community, it is called a jury trial. Where the trial is held solely before a judge, it is called a bench trial.
Bench trials are often resolved faster. Furthermore, a favorable ruling for one party in a bench trial will frequently lead the other party to offer a settlement.
Hearings before administrative bodies may have many of the features of a trial before a court, but are typically not referred to as trials.
An appellate proceeding is also generally not deemed a trial, because such proceedings are usually restricted to review of the evidence presented before the trial court, and do not permit the introduction of new evidence.
The Funkoars are an Australian hip hop act from Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. The group is part of the Certified Wise crew of hip hop artists from South Australia (including the Hilltop Hoods, Pegz and Vents), who also collaborated on various recordings. Funkoars are signed to the Golden Era Records label.
Consisting of MC and producer Daniel Rankine (aka Mr Trials or simply Trials), MCs Adam Baker (aka Uncle Sesta or simply Sesta) and Matthew Honson (aka Sketchy Hons or simply Hons), and DJ Daniel Yates (aka Reflux), Funkoars was established in Adelaide around the year 1999. According to Trials, a "Funkoar is the dreg of society. It is the funnel in which all morals and conscious are drained into the river Styx."
In March 2014, Sesta explained that at the time of the band's formation, notions of fame or success were not a significant factor in the creative process, and he thinks "that's what gave the local scene such a strong foundation. There was no promised light at the end of the tunnel that your average band would dare to dream of." Sesta further explained that artists at the time were driven by a love of hip hop culture, unconcerned by market trends, and they "enjoyed the process of making the songs" most of all. In addition to Gravediggaz and Akinyele, Sesta also identified Centrelink as an early influence of the band, as bandmate "Hons would come to my house on check day [welfare payment day] and we'd finish a case of imported (from Melbourne) beer and a hot chicken. We passed it back and forth on a body board in a small wading pool we got from Cheap As Chips. Came up with a lot of ideas there, sort of."
Trials are an American heavy metal band formed in Chicago, Illinois in 2008. Known for their blend of thrash music and death metal, their music also has melodic and progressive elements.
Trials was originally formed by vocalist/guitarist Mark Sugar and former Novembers Doom drummer Sasha Horn, sometime in late 2007. In an interview with About.com, Mark Sugar stated, "We formed...with only two members and the sole intention of recording a demo. The demo got more attention than we bargained for, and we gradually became a full band." As the band's demo gained notoriety in Chicago and beyond, the band recruited bassist Usha Rajbhandari and guitarist Remy Walle, and gradually began writing what would become their first album, Witness to the Downfall.
After several delays, Trials' first album, "Witness to the Downfall", was released independently on August 1, 2011. Produced by the band, the record was mixed and mastered by German engineer Lasse Lammert. Artwork duties were handled by Seth Siro Anton, of the band Septicflesh.
Click the link to order some Whiskey Stones: https://amzn.to/2U4pwct Ever wondered if Whiskey Stones really work? Whiskey Stones is your go to if you like your beverage "neat" and not watered down with ice. The idea behind the Whiskey Stones is not to make your beverage ice cold. These Granite Whiskey Stones will chill your beverage to a perfect 50 - 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Master distillers suggest 55 - 65 degrees Fahrenheit is the perfect serving temperature for whiskey. This is the best temperature to taste the complex flavor profile of a whiskey. Chilling whiskey below this range with ice can mask some of the flavors. Just throw them in the freezer overnight, put some stones in your glass, give it a little shake, give it a little taste, and add a couple more if it's not chilled...
My first experience with Ardbeg was amazing. My friend and I started to talk about the smell and taste and a rudimentary story was born. it rolled around my head for a while and I eventually wrote it down and recorded it: https://youtu.be/HG5U61r0ifc However this video is a review of the inspiring dram Ardbeg 10. The spelling of Whisky, why was it changed? Don't Americans normally like to shorten "old" English words? Whisky or Whiskey? A Scotsman who spells Whisky with a n ‘e’, should be hand cuffed and thrown head first in the Dee, In the USA and Ireland, it’s spelt with an ‘e’ but in Scotland it’s real ‘Whisky’. So if you see Whisky and it has an ‘e’, only take it, if you get it for free! For the name is not the same and it never will be, a dram is only a real dram, from a bottle of ‘Scotch Whisky’.
