The Mailbox is an upmarket development of offices, designer shops, restaurants, bars and luxury city-centre apartments in the City Centre and on the boundary of the City Centre Core in Birmingham, West Midlands, England. It is also home to BBC Birmingham.
The Mailbox is about 300 metres (980 ft) long from front to back including The Cube. Above the front shops it has an additional 6 floors. The Worcester and Birmingham Canal passes along the back.
Previously the location of canal wharves, the site was the location of the Royal Mail's main sorting office for Birmingham (hence its name), which was completed in 1970. It was designed by R. H. Ousman of the Ministry of Public Building and Works, who collaborated with project architect H. A. E. Giddings and with Hubbard Ford & Partners, who supplied E. Winters and R. Lee as architects. When completed, it was the largest mechanised letters and parcels sorting office in the country with a floor area of 20 acres (81,000 m2) and the largest building in Birmingham. A tunnel was constructed between the site and New Street station for letters to be delivered directly to the office. The structure housed the largest electronic sorting equipment in the West Midlands to handle the post.

MAILBOX OF DOOM!
Once on a Halloween night, a clumsy LEGO hazmat dude spills some radioactive goo on a giant mailbox. The goo brings the mailbox to life, and it starts eating minifigures alive! This Mailbox of Doom calling himself Sheldon attacks the LEGO town. It's up to the towns people to fight him off in an epic battle of mailbox vs. minifig! Though I forgot to mention this in the credits, Lord Zzub Zzub and Darknight where not created by me, but by two people on the LEGO site known as STREETP1ZZA and Darknight101. -

In this episode of The Mailbox I show off an amazing package sent in by Gravity Falls News (Member #0028). Gravity Falls News sent a Smile Dip package, a Gravity Falls postcard, a Mystery Spot bumper sticker, an Oregon Vortex keychain, and a ton of pictures they took on a trip to see the same tourist traps that the Gravity Falls crew visited two years ago.

I also try to deeply analyze what the portal machine beneath the Mystery Shack does. Though we now know that it is for interdimensional travel, we still don’t know where the portal machine is searching for.

I use the Canon 60D, the Canon Vixia Mini X, and a Polsen OLM-10 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone. I edit with Final Cut 10 because it’s the most robust editor for the least investment.

Texas Republicans have succeeded in putting a measure up to secede from the United States at their convention this week, an Inquisitr report said Thursday.Pro-secession group Texas Nationalist Movement told Carbonated.TV in a press release the Republican Party of Texas seeks independence from the rest of the nation by seceding from the Union. The Republican Party’s vote for Texas secession passed with two-thirds of the vote....

The British media is riddled with "barbarians" who would benefit from a lesson in manners from China's ancient civilisation, a state-run newspaper said Thursday after Queen Elizabeth II called some Chinese officials "very rude" ... A Canadian “funeral home’s” use of a dark public service announcement and billboard encouraging drivers to text and drive is causing outrage as well as driving home the message on the dangers of such actions, CNN reported Thursday."It is a horrible thing for a funeral home to do ... I opened (last Sunday’s) Dispatch to the Sports section, and right there in the Mailbox is a letter from Gregg Miller about the disdain for anything other than scarlet and gray by the Buckeyes coaching staff ... While I am frustrated as much as the next guy, some comments just don’t add up, like Thad Woodman (Mailbox, last Sunday) saying that if you can skate and chew gum it’s a lock to make the playoffs ... I go to all the games....

Why is it you don’t want to print negativity about the Ohio State basketball team or Thad Matta? If the football team lost three of four games, the Mailbox would blow up with letters ... When things didn’t go their way, they would throw temper tantrums, put their heads down, shrug their shoulders, cry to the refs, etc ... Based upon your response to Steve Dragoo (Mailbox, last Sunday) about spring training baseball and the fact that the Buckeyes will not tee it up again until August (playing ball for real), are we to assume that in the meantime The Dispatch will only contain stories on the football team when there is room and/or when material is available on the wire? ... At least half of the student section below us was barely applauding....

The CBJ should petition the NHL to start the season in February. Then maybe they'd make the playoffs ... My memory of the 50th Super Bowl is going to be of an immature Cam Newton on the ground beating his fist on the ground ... I was pulling for the Broncos in the Super Bowl primarily for one reason ... During the post-loss interview, Cam hid from his friends in the press under his hoodie and gave only a few one- and two-word answers before prematurely bailing out on the interview in less than three minutes ... In the end, that’s all it was, hype....
