Röyksopp (Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈɾœʏksɔp]) are a Norwegian electronic music duo from Tromsø, formed in 1998. Since their inception, the band has consisted of Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland.
Berge and Brundtland were introduced to each other through a mutual friend in Tromsø, Norway. They both enjoyed the same films, music and both shared an interest in electronics. The two experimented with various forms of electronic music, and bought a drum machine together during the Tromsø techno scene before going their separate ways. Several years later, the two met up again and formed Röyksopp during the Bergen Wave. After experimenting with different genres of electronic music, the band solidified their place in the electronica scene with their 2001 debut album, Melody A.M., released on the Wall of Sound record label.
Röyksopp consistently experimented with various genres pertaining to electronic music. Stylistically, the band makes use of various genres, including ambient, house music and synthpop. The band is also known for its elaborate concert performances, which often feature eccentric outfits.
Inevitable may refer to:
The Inevitable End is the fifth and final studio album by Norwegian electronic music duo Röyksopp, released on 7 November 2014 by Dog Triumph. Svein Berge stated the album has "a dark energy", while Robyn described the album: "It's sad, but it's not cold. It's very warm." Four singles were released off the record.
The group have announced this is their final studio album in the traditional sense, adding that they are "not going to stop making music, but the album format as such, this is the last thing from us".
The Inevitable End received generally positive reviews from music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted mean rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 75, based on 20 reviews, which indicates "generally favorable reviews". Madison Vain of Entertainment Weekly noted that the album "showcase[s] the best of the duo's trance-y instrumentals, propulsive hooks, and bubbling beats." Scott Simpson of Exclaim! opined that Röyksopp "have recorded the best final album they could have envisioned: a layered and cohesive package of enveloping synths filled with addictive hooks." Timothy Monger of AllMusic viewed the album as "a strong finale in the duo's signature style and whether or not this truly is the end or merely the end of their album era, The Inevitable End sits among the best in Röyksopp's catalog."Billboard's Jamieson Cox stated that the duo were "leaving on a high note" and lauded the album as "sublime melancholy electro-pop, rich and emotionally resonant without feeling maudlin." Ryan Lathan of PopMatters called the album "gorgeously produced" and wrote that it "will never be looked upon as a terribly uplifting experience, but its lyrical content treats heartache, despair, self-hatred, remorse, depression, and the fear of the unknown with utter respect."
Inevitable End are a Swedish death metal band from Jönkoping, who are signed to Relapse Records.
Inevitable End started out in 2003 as a group that was highly influenced by thrash metal and have since evolved overtime to be securely rooted in the death metal Genre. The band released two demos, a self-titled album in 2004 and Reversal in 2006, each consisting of three songs clocking in around fifteen minutes each. After a few years of playing thrash metal the band moved from Jönkoping to Gothenburg where they underwent some critical line-up changes. With a new solidified line up consisting of Andres Gerden, Marcus Bertilsson, Johan Ylenstrand, and Joakim Malmborg the Quartet spent most of 2007 in the rehearsal studio. After perfecting their new sound the band signed to Relapse Records and started recording for their first full length debut, The Severed Inception, which would be released March 17, 2009 in North America (March 23 internationally). Inevitable End have toured Norway, Finland, Czech Republic and Switzerland, as well as their home country of Sweden.

'Running To The Sea' and 'Something In My Heart' are in essence both expressions of compulsion and its strong, often uncontrollable, persisting pull. Dependence is a returning theme in our music -B+B 'Running To The Sea' features stunning vocals by the platinum-selling Norwegian artist Susanne Sundfør, and this epic, sweeping track glistens with moving beauty. The equally elegant singing on b-side 'Something In My Heart' - a melancholy, synth hybrid - is provided by Jamie of cult orchestral pop ensemble The Irrepressibles. My color workflow that I used on projects like Pause Fest, IBM datagrams and Onward Internet, Is now available as a tool called Ray Dynamic Color! Watch the tutorial on aescripts + aeplugins: http://aescripts.com/ray-dynamic-color How it works — Currently all the colors in your After Effect project live in their own place, even if some elements in your scene have the same color. When you want change or try a different color it's almost impossible because you have to change each individual color of every element in the project. Imagine if all the elements that share the same color have the ability to be dynamically linked to one color source. Song by: Röyksopp royksopp.com - Happy Up Here
http://www.freudiankicks.com are massive fans of Røyksopp. We enjoyed that the electronica duo made a habit of dropping by our store before gigs in Oslo. In August 2010 we met at the Freudian Kicks studio to see if we could do something together. This was right before Senior dropped and we listened to “The Drug” for the very first time, while watching three pommie looking, 80's styled girls roam around in urban decay (It's actually Detroit). This was somber matter and far from the debut album Melody A.M. The contrast is equally great between a Røyksopp album and Røyksopp live. Freudian Kicks wanted to create a stunning stage outfit to match the darkness of the Senior album, at the same time giving the down tempo songs, some extra juice while performed live. We also talked about how the ...
The little kid we follow throughout the music video is a young boy named Darren Choy. Darren and I met last year while I was living in Hong-Kong. I met him at a house party around 5am. Poor little man was so tired he could barely stand still. I approached Darren and his father and we immediately hit it off. As the sun was coming up and Darren really couldn’t stay awake anymore his father invited me back to their place so we could continue our conversation. Darren and his father were living in what I can only describe as a squalor. An industrial building full of trash. They were poor, but happy. When I met Darren, it was my last week in Asia. I was leaving Hong Kong and after meeting this incredible little boy I wanted to spend my last few days with him. I grew so attached to him, I simply ...

Insomnia is a festival for innovative electronic music. The creative process within the genre is as varied as the music itself, and the festival hopes to sample a variety of it. The Festival also combines new innovative music with new technology and design through public seminars during the festival. It all shapes through live concerts, dj/club events, seminar, exhibitions, performance, installations and debates. Their venues vary from Tromsø's beautiful old cinema, Verdensteatret and the student house Driv witch used to be the old youth house Brygga where artists like Bel Canto, Röyksopp and Rune Lindbæk started their career. The festival has its base in Tromsø as the city was Norway’s capitol of house and techno when the genre emerged. Insomnia Festival runs as a non-profit event, with ...
