Daniel is a masculine given name and a surname of Hebrew origin. It means, "God is my judge", and derives from two early biblical figures, primary among them Daniel from the Book of Daniel. Eugene Levy

Eugene Levy, CM (born December 17, 1946) is a Canadian actor, comedian, producer, director, musician, and writer. He is the only actor to have appeared in all eight of the American Pie films, with his role as Noah Levenstein. He often plays nerdy, unconventional figures, with his humour often deriving from his excessive explanations of matters and the way in which he deals with sticky situations. Levy is a regular colloborator of actor-director Christopher Guest, appearing in five of his films, commencing with Waiting for Guffman in 1997. Levy received the Governor General's Performing Arts Award, Canada's highest honour in the performing arts, in 2008. He was appointed to the Order of Canada on June 30, 2011.

Early life

Levy was born to a Jewish family in Hamilton, Ontario. His mother was a homemaker and his father was a foreman at an automobile plant. He went to Westdale Secondary School, and attended McMaster University. He was vice-president of the McMaster Film Board, a student film group, where he met moviemaker Ivan Reitman.

Schitt's Creek (advertised as Schitt$ Creek) is a Canadian television sitcom that premiered on CBC Television on January 13, 2015. The series airs in the United States on Pop (previously the TV Guide Network). The series was created by Eugene Levy and Daniel Levy and produced by Not a Real Company Productions. On January 12, 2015, CBC renewed the show for a second season. On March 17, 2015, Pop announced that it would continue airing the show in its second season. Season two will consist of 13 episodes. Production resumed during the second week of April 2015. The second season premiered January 12, 2016, on CBC and will premiere March 16, 2016, on Pop.

The series stars Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara as Johnny and Moira Rose, a wealthy couple who are forced, after losing all their money, to rebuild their lives in their only remaining asset: the small town of Schitt's Creek, which they once purchased as a joke, where they are living with their two adult children in two adjacent rooms of a rundown motel. Early life

Levy was born on March 19, 1981 to Linda and Elliott L. Levy. He graduated from Emerson College in Boston.

Career

In 1993, Levy was a member of the "Half Pint Players", a teen-age improvisation group in Stamford, Connecticut.

While a student at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts, Levy won the title of Funniest College Comedian in America at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, CO.

Levy co-starred in the feature film, My Sexiest Year, with Frankie Muniz and Harvey Keitel. He was also featured in the SONY Screen Gems film Mardi Gras.

Levy was in New York filming the IHaveToGoInAMinuteShow, a daily comedy show produced by CollegeHumor and directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson.

Levy produced, wrote, and starred in My Long Distance Relationship, a 10-part web series for Crackle.
