Straight??!!

Straight??!! is the fifth studio album by English rock band The Dogs D'Amour. Album was released in 1990 and entered the UK Albums Chart at #32.

Notably this album is the last Dogs D'Amour recording to feature the 'classic' line-up of Tyla, Steve James, Jo Dog and Bam, as the band would break up onstage in 1991. The album spawned three singles; "Victims of Success", "Empty World" and "Back on the Juice", all of which reached the top 100 of the UK Singles Chart, the first of which was a Top 40 hit.

Straight is a 2007 German film by director Nicolas Flessa.

Plot

The young German-Polish Jana does everything possible to give the impression of a straight acting woman. Her good-looking, bourgeois friend David and her pretence to work for a newspaper are attempts to hide her inner conflicts and her true occupation of a social worker in the low-prestigious Berlin district of Neukoelln.

But there is the young German Turk Nazim, who also tries hard to keep up the appearance of straightness. Night after night he goes out with his homies, dances with girls like Jana and deals with drugs on Hermann Square. Neither his best buddy Akin nor his playmates are suspicious.

Since his nocturnal encounter with a young German guy on Sonnenallee it has got more difficult for him to keep up the façade of normal life. This is the beginning of a love triangle that is dangerous for the self-understanding of all parties: because Nazim's new lover is no one else but Janas boy friend David...

Straight-seven engine

A straight-seven engine or inline-seven engine is a straight engine with seven cylinders. Wärtsilä, with their RTA96-C, and MAN Diesel produce crosshead two-stroke diesel engines in this configuration. Wärtsilä also produces regular trunk engines in this configuration. It is more common in marine applications because marine engines are usually based on a modular design, with individual heads per cylinder.

Land use

Only one straight-seven engine for land propulsion is known to be in production, the AGCO Sisu 7-cylinder diesel engine. This engine configuration was chosen because of size, parts commonality, and power range issues. A straight-8 would be too long for the farm machinery application the engine was intended for, whilst a V engine would require a higher investment compared to the expected low sales volume for this power range. The straight-7 configuration is a lower investment because Sisu has reused cylinder heads from their I3 and I4 diesel lineups. This is possible because the cylinder volume, pistons and con rods are identical across the Sisu model range.

Hitomi no Kakera

"Hitomi no Kakera" (瞳の欠片, Fragments of a Gaze) is the debut single of J-pop duo FictionJunction Yuuka, from their debut album Destination. It was composed by Yuki Kajiura and released on May 8, 2004. The single debuted at #22 on the Oricon Weekly Charts and had 20 weeks on chart. Both Hitomi no Kakera and its B-side, nowhere, featured in the Bee Train anime series Madlax.

Madlax Soundtrack

Hitomi no Kakera was originally composed by FictionJunction Yuuka as a theme song for the anime Madlax. The song originally featured on the OST for the series before it was released as a single, which gained the band significant fame on the J-pop scene. Both Hitomi no Kakera and its B-side track nowhere were used throughout the anime, Hitomi no Kakera being opening theme for the series, and nowhere being used mainly during the fights and action scenes. Both songs feature on the series' OST as well as on FictionJunction Yuuka's album.

Nowhere (film)

Nowhere is a 1997 American black comedy drama film written and directed by Gregg Araki. It stars James Duval and Rachel True as Dark and Mel, a bisexual teen couple who are both sexually promiscuous.

The film is part of a series of three films by Araki nicknamed the "Teenage Apocalypse Trilogy." The other films in that trilogy are Totally Fucked Up (1993) and The Doom Generation (1995), with Nowhere being the third and last. The film is highly sexual and contains scenes of graphic violence. The film is notable in that it features a variety of actors who had, at the time, not yet reached their current level of stardom, including Heather Graham, Ryan Phillippe, Mena Suvari, Kathleen Robertson, and Denise Richards.

As in other films by Araki, various celebrities from the past 40 years make cameos, including Shannen Doherty, Charlotte Rae, Debi Mazar, Jordan Ladd, Christina Applegate, Jeremy Jordan, Jaason Simmons, Beverly D'Angelo, Eve Plumb, Christopher Knight, Traci Lords, Rose McGowan, John Ritter, Staci Keanan, Devon Odessa, Chiara Mastroianni, the Brewer twins and Brian Buzzini.

Lost (TV series)

Lost is an American television drama series that originally aired on the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) from September 22, 2004, to May 23, 2010, over six seasons, comprising a total of 121 episodes. Lost is a drama series containing elements of science fiction and the supernatural. It follows the survivors of the crash of a commercial passenger jet, flying between Sydney and Los Angeles, on a mysterious tropical island somewhere in the South Pacific Ocean. The story is told in a heavily serialized manner. Episodes typically feature a primary storyline set on the island, augmented by flashback or flashforward sequences which provide additional insight into the involved characters.

Lost was created by Jeffrey Lieber, J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof, who share story-writing credits for the pilot episode, which Abrams directed. Throughout the show's run, Lindelof and Carlton Cuse served as showrunners and head writers, working together with a large number of other executive producers and writers. Due to its large ensemble cast and the cost of filming primarily on location in Oahu, Hawaii, the series was one of the most expensive on television, with the pilot alone costing over $14 million. The fictional universe and mythology of Lost are expanded upon by a number of related media, most importantly, a series of short mini-episodes called Missing Pieces, and a 12-minute epilogue titled "The New Man in Charge".

Nearly

Nearly (often stylised as NearLY) is the solo musical project of former Nine Inch Nails drummer, Jerome Dillon. Dillon plays most of the music himself. The 2005 debut release is entitled Reminder. Claudia Sarne (of 12 Rounds) contributes the vocals.

Jerome is currently in the studio with engineer/programmer Joshua Kincheloe working on the follow-up to reminder.
