Another EPIC Giant Candy bar - Today I recreated one of my Favourite childhood Candy Bars - The Kit Kat Chunky. With CARAMEL!

And the Recipe:
For the Kit Kat its just 2 ingredients (and you can make this without caramel if you wish for a simpler and much faster option)
*** IMPORTANT NOTE: if your chocolate contains the ingredient "cocoa butter" it will need tempering to allow it to set at room temperature. I prefer to use compound chocolate such as Nestle Baking Melts in Australia or Wilton Candy Melts in the USA***
1kg compound milk chocolate
Approx 5 packets of vanilla or chocolate wafer sandwich cookies (buy more than you think you'll need - these are delicious in ice cream if you find yourself with leftovers)
The caramel is the complex part - here's the recipe:
600ml whipping cream
3.5oz / 100g caster (fine) sugar
1 tablespoons Glucose, Corn Syrup or Honey
6oz / 175g butter, cubed (salted or unsalted doesn't matter here)
2 tsp vanilla extract or essence
2.5oz / 70g compound milk chocolate
2.5oz / 70g white chocolate

After the success of my first Lego KitKat Bar Machine which is currently my most viewed machine, I decided to build a new one, with much bigger KitKat Bars along with integration of Lego Mindstorms. Four quarters are needed for the transaction, and the machine plays a node each time you put in a quarter, equivalent to how far you are from purchasing. Holds up to 14 bars.

Kit Kat
Kit Kat is a chocolate-covered wafer biscuit bar confection created by Rowntree's of York, England, and is now produced globally by Nestlé, which acquired Rowntree in 1988, with the exception of the United States where it is made under license by H.B. Reese Candy Company, a division of The Hershey Company. The standard bars consist of two or four fingers composed of three layers of wafer, separated and covered by an outer layer of chocolate. Each finger can be snapped from the bar separately. There are many different flavours of Kit Kat.
History
Use of the name "Kit Kat" or "Kit Cat" for a type of food goes back to the 18th century, when mutton pies known as a Kit-Kat were served at meetings of the political Kit-Cat Club in London.
The origins of what is now known as the "Kit Kat" brand go back to 1911, when Rowntree's, a confectionery company based in York in the United Kingdom, trademarked the terms "Kit Cat" and "Kit Kat". Although the terms were not immediately used, the first conception of the Kit Kat appeared in the 1920s, when Rowntree launched a brand of boxed chocolates entitled "Kit Cat". This continued into the 1930s, when Rowntree's shifted focus and production onto its "Black Magic" and "Dairy Box" brands. With the promotion of alternative products the "Kit Cat" brand decreased and was eventually discontinued. The original four-finger bar was developed after a worker at Rowntree's York Factory put a suggestion in a recommendation box for a snack that "a man could take to work in his pack". The bar launched on 29 August 1935, under the title of "Rowntree's Chocolate Crisp" (priced at 2d), and was sold in London and throughout Southern England.

Another EPIC Giant Candy bar - Today I recreated one of my Favourite childhood Candy Bars - The Kit Kat Chunky. With CARAMEL!

And the Recipe:
For the Kit Kat its just 2 ingredients (and you can make this without caramel if you wish for a simpler and much faster option)
*** IMPORTANT NOTE: if your chocolate contains the ingredient "cocoa butter" it will need tempering to allow it to set at room temperature. I prefer to use compound chocolate such as Nestle Baking Melts in Australia or Wilton Candy Melts in the USA***
1kg compound milk chocolate
Approx 5 packets of vanilla or chocolate wafer sandwich cookies (buy more than you think you'll need - these are delicious in ice cream if you find yourself with leftovers)
The caramel is the complex part - here's the recipe:
600ml whipping cream
3.5oz / 100g caster (fine) sugar
1 tablespoons Glucose, Corn Syrup or Honey
6oz / 175g butter, cubed (salted or unsalted doesn't matter here)
2 tsp vanilla extract or essence
2.5oz / 70g compound milk chocolate
