Glenfield Valves has been producing water products in Scotland since 1852. Its founder Thomas Kennedy recognised the need for an accurate device that could measure water consumption. In 1852 he perfected and patented a design that became the World's first Water Meter. Products dating back to the 19th century are still in use today. Glenfield products have been manufactured in Scotland for more than 150 years using experienced personnel and equipment to ensure high precision and uniformity throughout its product range. In 2008 our Kilmarnock factory underwent a major modernisation programme. Which included the installation of a new coatings system, and upgrades to the manufacturing and infrastructure of the facility. The coating system is fully monitored with adhesion testing / holiday testing and monitoring of atmospheric conditions all within British Standard Guidelines. Today Glenfield Valves is the AVK Group's specialist manufacturing company for pressure/flow control valves (automatic as well as non automatic design), large diameter gate/butterfly valves, non-slam recoil and conventional check valves, air valves, ball float valves and many more. Product development plays a key role in the Company's activities. As part of a clear product market strategy Glenfield products have been re-designed and improved in recent years, in an effort to raise performance levels and reduce installation and operating costs for customers. Our new flagship Series 859 Automatic Control Valve brings a new concept in design to the market place, and its innovative features strengthens Glenfield's position as a leading global valve manufacturer. Rigorous testing is carried out on all products to ensure compliance with customer expectations. Recently Glenfield have invested in a new purpose built PLC controlled test rig for our new Series 859 Automatic Control Valves, which provides not only Pressure test verification, but also simulates the customer specified flow control conditions before delivery to site. Glenfield Valves is proud to hold major accreditations that apply to our water products, and our quality control system is certified to ISO 9001. As a major International supplier we also hold several international valve standards including AWWA, BS, EN, DIN, ISO & SABS.
