Full driving licence holder Archik takes a driving test from a DVSA test centre in south Birmingham. Huge thanks go to Archik for being brave enough to put himself forward to do this, not many drivers would!
The main aim of this session was to highlight any aspects of his driving that could be improved and to see how a full licence holder (FLH) would perform if they had to take their driving test again. It's an interesting experiment and one that i hope to do again sometime in the future. We conducted it as a normal L plate test would have been done using a full driving test route. We didn't include the show me/tell me part of the test as we were mainly interested in his actual driving.
There are two points I'd like to make about this video:
1) The speedo shown in the windscreen is only there as an approximate guide. It is not linked to the cars speedo and isn't calibrated at all, it just does it's best to guess your speed using GPS. If it reads over the speed limit at several points in this video, that doesn't mean the car is speeding. You can set it to read as much above or below what it thinks your speed is with the push of a button making it useful as a guide only and not an accurate readout.
You can see a good example of this at the end of the first road at 2:15. When we turn right the speedo goes from around 10mph to 0mph then back to 8, 10, 12, 14 then 11 within a second, despite our speed barely changing. The are several other points throughout the drive where it jumps around erratically without the speed of the car changing.
2) There were a few seconds of video I edited out due to us almost entering a bus lane, not helped by the white car behind (in front of us in the video) forcing us over. If you almost enter a bus lane it counts as entering as I explain in the debrief. It's not illegal or against the highway code to almost enter one; it would count against you on a driving test though as it shows a weakness in the pupils planning and awareness

The LD System video programme is used in conjunction with the LDC driving skills workbook. These resources together with guidance from an expert LDC driving instructor provide one of the most effective and efficient ways to learn to drive and become a safe driver for life.
Too many driving instructors focus too much attention on telling their pupils what to do and what to think! This approach only fosters dependency, doubt and blind obedience, such that once the test is passed they do all the things they were told not to do. The LDC approach is designed to foster self-reliance, confidence and responsibility resulting in safer drivers who learn to drive far more quickly and thoroughly.
Unlike traditional instruction LDC heavily promotes student centred learning. This involves the student being encouraged to take more responsibility for their own development by using the LD System materials before and after each lesson and by using discovery learning with self determination and reflection rather than being told what to do by the instructor. In particular talk through instruction, prompted practice and long winded explanations are avoided, if at all possible - instead encouraging the student to work it out for themselves - to become good decision makers.

A preview of the Utah Driver License Division skills test maneuvers to assist Utah drivers in obtaining a learner permit or driver license. This video was filmed on our driving range at the West Valley Driver License Office with no other testers on the range at the same time. This is the only driving range that you can be tested on, in the State of Utah. All other offices test on the actual roadway. DVLA will introduce a new style photocard driving licence, which will be issued to all drivers and riders who apply for licences on or after 19 January 2013.
The new photocard licence will eventually replace all previous styles as new applications and changes to existing licences are received by DVLA.

Brooklyn and I finished Driver's Ed a year ago, and spent the last six months of the year accumulating our drive time hours. Since we turned 16 on New Year's Eve, we we're ready to take our Driver's License Test.
Yes, we were nervous, and both took the test. The following video shows the true results, as they happened!
One thing we want you all to know, is that the Driver's License Test was so super easy! We were psyching ourselves out in our minds, making a big deal about nothing. It's the nerves that will cause your mistakes.

A driver's license/licence or driving licence is an official document which states that a person may operate a motorized vehicle, such as a motorcycle, car, truck or a bus, on a public roadway. The laws relating to the licensing of drivers vary between jurisdictions. In some jurisdictions, a license is issued after the recipient has passed a driving test, while in others, a person acquires a license before beginning to drive. Different categories of license often exist for different types of motor vehicles, particularly large trucks and passenger vehicles. The difficulty of the driving test varies considerably between jurisdictions, as do factors such as age and the required level of practice.
The first license to drive a motor vehicle was issued to the inventor of the modern automobile, Karl Benz, in 1888. Because the noise and smell of his Motorwagen resulted in complaints by the citizens of Mannheim, Benz requested and received written permission by the Grand Ducal authorities to operate his car on public roads.

Full driving licence holder Archik takes a driving test from a DVSA test centre in south Birmingham. Huge thanks go to Archik for being brave enough to put himself forward to do this, not many drivers would! The main aim of this session was to highlight any aspects of his driving that could be improved and to see how a full licence holder (FLH) would perform if they had to take their driving test again. It's an interesting experiment and one that i hope to do again sometime in the future. We conducted it as a normal L plate test would have been done using a full driving test route. Utah Road Test
A preview of the Utah Driver License Division skills test maneuvers to assist Utah drivers in obtaining a learner permit or driver license. This video was filmed on our driving range at the West Valley Driver License Office with no other testers on the range at the same time. This is the only driving range that you can be tested on, in the State of Utah. All other offices test on the actual roadway. Full driving licence holder Archik takes a driving test from a DVSA test centre in south Birmingham. Huge thanks go to Archik for being brave enough to put himself forward to do this, not many drivers would!
The main aim of this session was to highlight any aspects of his driving that could be improved and to see how a full licence holder (FLH) would perform if they had to take their driving test again. It's an interesting experiment and one that i hope to do again sometime in the future. We conducted it as a normal L plate test would have been done using a full driving test route. We didn't include the show me/tell me part of the test as we were mainly interested in his actual driving.
There are two points I'd like to make about this video:
1) The speedo shown in the windscreen is only there as an approximate guide. It is not linked to the cars speedo and isn't calibrated at all, it just does it's best to guess your speed using GPS. If it reads over the speed limit at several points in this video, that doesn't mean the car is speeding. You can set it to read as much above or below what it thinks your speed is with the push of a button making it useful as a guide only and not an accurate readout.
You can see a good example of this at the end of the first road at 2:15. When we turn right the speedo goes from around 10mph to 0mph then back to 8, 10, 12, 14 then 11 within a second, despite our speed barely changing. The are several other points throughout the drive where it jumps around erratically without the speed of the car changing.
2) There were a few seconds of video I edited out due to us almost entering a bus lane, not helped by the white car behind (in front of us in the video) forcing us over. If you almost enter a bus lane it counts as entering as I explain in the debrief. It's not illegal or against the highway code to almost enter one; it would count against you on a driving test though as it shows a weakness in the pupils planning and awareness

Unlike traditional instruction LDC heavily promotes student centred learning. This involves the student being encouraged to take more responsibility for their own development by using the LD System materials before and after each lesson and by using discovery learning with self determination and reflection rather than being told what to do by the instructor. In particular talk through instruction, prompted practice and long winded explanations are avoided, if at all possible - instead encouraging the student to work it out for themselves - to become good decision makers.

DVLA will introduce a new style photocard driving licence, which will be issued to all drivers and riders who apply for licences on or after 19 January 2013.
The new photocard licence will eventually replace all previous styles as new applications and changes to existing licences are received by DVLA.
The main changes which appear on the back of the photocard licence are; inclusion of all driving entitlement categories on the photocard licence introduced as part of new EU rules and a new card design

Yes, we were nervous, and both took the test. The following video shows the true results, as they happened!
One thing we want you all to know, is that the Driver's License Test was so super easy! We were psyching ourselves out in our minds, making a big deal about nothing. It's the nerves that will cause your mistakes.
Know that we have faith in you, and you will pass and be good drivers just like we are! If you fail, no biggie... Brooklyn did, too!

In this video a stunning matte black and gold Ferrari 488 GTB with monegasque driving licence plate drives around the city giving me the possibility to film it in each detail like rims, engine, interior, the logo of the "Cavallino" and to record its noisy start-up and its lovely sound while driving.
The Ferrari 488 GTB is a mid-engined sports car produced since 2015 by the italian manufacturer of Maranello to replace the Ferrari 458 Italia.
Presented for the first time at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, it's powered by a 3.9 litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine and mounts a 7-speed dual-clutch F1 trasmission by GETRAG for a power of 670 hp and 760 Nm of torque, enough for a top speed of over 330 Km/h and a 0-100 Km/h acceleration in less than 3,0 seconds.
The body of the 488 has been designed to increase downforce by 50% over the 458 while reducing aerodynamic drag. The central "Aero Pillar" deflects air under the flat body of the car while two vents in the bonnet provide an exit for air from the dual intakes of the front bumper, further reducing air pressure over the front of the car.
The design is by Flavio Mansoni, the italian designer who alreadt made other Ferraris such as the LaFerrari, the FF, the 599 SA Aperta and the F12 Berlinetta.
At the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show was unveiled even the roadster version named Ferrari 488 Spider with a folding hardtop that disappears in on 20 seconds and performance close to the GTB's.
In summer 2015 at Mugello, for the Finali Mondiali Ferrari, were launched the racing versions of the 488 GTB named Ferrari 488 GTE, to compete in the FIA GTE Championship and in the Endurance Series, and Ferrari 488 GT3, to race in the 2016 FIA GT3 Championship.
The Ferrari 488 Spider is produced in many classic colors like the Argento Nurburgring, the Blue TDF or the Nero Daytona and is for sale for a tag price of 230.000 €.

Presented for the first time at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, it's powered by a 3.9 litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine and mounts a 7-speed dual-clutch F1 trasmission by GETRAG for a power of 670 hp and 760 Nm of torque, enough for a top speed of over 330 Km/h and a 0-100 Km/h acceleration in less than 3,0 seconds.
The body of the 488 has been designed to increase downforce by 50% over the 458 while reducing aerodynamic drag. The central "Aero Pillar" deflects air under the flat body of the car while two vents in the bonnet provide an exit for air from the dual intakes of the front bumper, further reducing air pressure over the front of the car.
The design is by Flavio Mansoni, the italian designer who alreadt made other Ferraris such as the LaFerrari, the FF, the 599 SA Aperta and the F12 Berlinetta.
At the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show was unveiled even the roadster version named Ferrari 488 Spider with a folding hardtop that disappears in on 20 seconds and performance close to the GTB's.
In summer 2015 at Mugello, for the Finali Mondiali Ferrari, were launched the racing versions of the 488 GTB named Ferrari 488 GTE, to compete in the FIA GTE Championship and in the Endurance Series, and Ferrari 488 GT3, to race in the 2016 FIA GT3 Championship.
The Ferrari 488 Spider is produced in many classic colors like the Argento Nurburgring, the Blue TDF or the Nero Daytona and is for sale for a tag price of 230.000 €.

Toby's driving test was conducted at the West Wickham driving test centre and follows a West Wickham driving test route. It includes some independent driving, 40 mph roads and parallel parking.

If you are over 17 ½ but under 18 years of age, you may get your permit without the driver education and driver training certificates however, you will not be able to take the driving test until you turn 18.
Once you pass your written test, you will be issued a provisional permit.
A parent, guardian, spouse or adult 25 years of age or older, who has a valid California driver license, must be with you when you drive. He or she must sit in a position close enough to take control of the vehicle, if necessary. It is illegal for you to drive alone at any time.
