Description: Copper craftsmanship of Lahij is the traditional practice of making and using copperware in the Lahij community of the Caucasus. The copper-smelting master prepares the copper then the coppersmith-hammerer moulds it into thin plates. A craftsperson engraves the plates with designs environmental in nature reflecting traditional knowledge and values. People from Azerbaijan buy the copperware to use it in their daily lives. The practice is transmitted from father to son and said to be a clear marker of Lahij identity.

Rayonun ərazisində Talıstan kəndində 4 km şimalda, Ağçayın sahilində Cavanşirin adı ilə bağlı qala mövcuddur. Azərbaycanın şimal-mərkəz hissəsində yerləşən İsmayıllı rayonu 1931-cü ildə təşkil olunmuşdur. İlk vaxtlar rayonun inzibati mərkəzi Basqal kəndində olmuş qısa müddətdən sonra İsmayıllı kəndinə köçürülmüşdür. Rayon təşkil edilənədək onun ərazisinin böyük bir hissəsi Göyçay qəzasının, bir hissəsi Şamaxı qəzasının, kiçik bir hissəsi isə Şəki qəzasının tərkibində olub. İsmayıllı şəhəri 1959-cu ilə qədər kənd, 1967-ci ilə qədər şəhər tipli qəsəbə olmuş, sonra şəhər adını almışdır.

Saudi Arabia is pushing on with its aggression against Yemen with fresh air raids.
Saudi warplanes bombarded several areas in Sana’a province. At least three women and three children were killed in the strikes. Saudi jets also targeted the international airport and an entertainment complex in Sana’a. In the meantime, Ansarullah fighters and allied army units fired a ballistic missile at an air base in the Yemeni Lahij province where Saudi-sponsored militants were positioned. Reports say the missile attack killed a commander of private American military company, Blackwater, and destroyed several copters. Yemeni fighters also targeted combat vessels belonging to Saudi-backed troops at a port in Ta’izz province.

Nasr Fadhl, talk about the importance of finding "the Other", accepting that we're not alone, and that this "Other" is our partner in this world. Reports coming out of Yemen indicate that at least three Emirati soldiers and two Sudanese mercenaries have been killed in an explosion in Lahij province.
A roadside bomb hit their convoy close to Anad Airbase. The base is located some 20 kilometers north of the port city of Aden. An unspecified number of troops were also injured in the incident. Earlier on Monday, Saudi Arabia’s news agency confirmed the death of four soldiers during clashes with the Yemeni army. The casualties among Saudi forces and their mercenaries come amid fierce fighting with Ansarullah fighters and the Yemeni army over the southwestern province of Ta’izz. The Yemeni fighters have killed a Saudi commander and destroyed 15 military vehicles in Najd Qassim district of Ta’izz.

Saudi warplanes have mistakenly targeted positions belonging to the loyalists of the former Yemeni regime in the country’s south.
The airstrikes killed at least 12 remnants of the former regime and injured 30 others in the province of Lahij. Meanwhile, Riyadh has violated a self-declared humanitarian pause on the first day of its implementation. Saudi warplanes targeted various areas in the provinces of Sa’ada, Hajjah, and Aden. At least three people were killed in airstrikes on the provinces of Hajjah and Sa’ada. Saudi Arabia’s onslaught has claimed nearly 49-hundred lives since it started in late March.

It is cozy family -- run guest house managed by owner Rustam (English speaking) and his friendly attentive family members.
This 3 storey house, was built as a local style in 2010. There are 9 bedrooms (twin & double), accomodating up to 18 people. Extra bed available. Each room has a private shower, hot water, heated floors, nice view to surrounding mountains. All rooms are furnished, have a satellite plasma TV, comfortable and nature blankets. 2 connected rooms have additional facilities (small privet kitchen, fireplace, independent entrance from the garden. Newly equpped kitchen that can serve over 20 people. Conference room available for up to 20 people. Conference packages available, including audio/video services (digital projector, TV, DVD player, sound sistem). Internet and international direct dialing service available. Recreation room with chess, playing-card, lotto (bingo) and other games. Multi--level common areas with numerous skyligts. Adjacent to surrounding mountains with hiking trails and river. One acre of private wooden land (orchard).
On the first floor you will find nice decorated guest sitting/dining-room where you may enjoy a complimentary full breakfast, lunch or dinner. We have big, orchard in front of our house. Spacious meeting room is ready for your celebration or meeting.

We pride ourselves in offering a Hearty Breakfast which will set you up for the Day Ahead. You can help yourself to a Range of Cereals. Stewed Fruit, Followed by a full traditional or continental breakfast -- all of which are accompanied by toast. Preserves, and freshly brewed Tea or Coffee.

If you require lunch or an evening meal on day arrival, please book in advance.

Each room has a beautiful new overlooking the surrounding mountain or our large garden, all have the comfort on en suite showrooms. One of the double room has the big balcony. Nice decorated dining-room/kitchen has fireplace big plasma TV, DVD, home theatre system, also furnitured as a country stile. There is a large garden at the front of the house which guests are welcome to use for their relaxation and enjoyment. Use our spacious conference room for your celebration or meeting.

Yemen’s Ansarullah fighters and allied army units have repelled a large attack by militia groups on a strategic airbase in the country’s southwest.
The militias loyal to the former regime reportedly met stiff resistance from the Ansarullah and allied army units as they attempted to break into the Anad base in Lahij province. A former regime commander said several people were killed on both sides. The militia offensive was supported by Saudi warplanes targeting the airbase before the attack. The incident came a day after some 15-hundred heavily-armed foreign troops, most of them from the United Arab Emirates, reached the port city of Aden, which is some 60 kilometers from al-Anad airbase.

Saudi Arabia has launched fresh airstrikes across Yemen as part of its devastating war on its impoverished neighboring state.
In the latest attack, a military base was targeted in the southern Lahij province. Saudi fighter jets also carried out several airstrikes in the southern province of Ta'izz, as well as Ma’rib in central Yemen. The strikes follow similar air raids in Sa’ada and Hajjah provinces in the north. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have sent weapons to militias loyal to Yemen’s former regime, who are fighting Ansarullah forces. But the Houthi fighters continue to inflict losses on rival forces and their al-Qaeda affiliates. In the latest developments, the Yemeni army, backed by popular committee forces, killed a large number of militants and destroyed their vehicles in Aden province.

Lahij or Lahej (Arabic: لحج Laḥij) is a city and an area located between Ta'izz and Aden in Yemen. From the 18th to the 20th century, its rulers were of the Al-Abdali family who with Al-Sallami, Al-Ramada, Al-Sindi and al-Aqrabi, claims relation to Ahl al-Bayt (the family of Muhammad). Lahij was the capital city of Sultanate of Lahej, a protectorate of the British Empire until 1967, when the sultan was expelled and the city became a part of People's Republic of South Yemen.

Reports coming out of Yemen indicate that at least three Emirati soldiers and two Sudanese mercenaries have been killed in an explosion in Lahij province.
A roadside bomb hit their convoy close to Anad Airbase. The base is located some 20 kilometers north of the port city of Aden. An unspecified number of troops were also injured in the incident. This 3 storey house, was built as a local style in 2010. There are 9 bedrooms (twin & double), accomodating up to 18 people. Extra bed available. Each room has a private shower, hot water, heated floors, nice view to surrounding mountains. All rooms are furnished, have a satellite plasma TV, comfortable and nature blankets. 2 connected rooms have additional facilities (small privet kitchen, fireplace, independent entrance from the garden. Newly equpped kitchen that can serve over 20 people. Conference room available for up to 20 people. Conference packages available, including audio/video services (digital projector, TV, DVD player, sound sistem). Internet and international direct dialing service available. Recreation room with chess, playing-card, lotto (bingo) and other games. Multi--level common areas with numerous skyligts. Adjacent to surrounding mountains with hiking trails and river. One acre of private wooden land (orchard).
On the first floor you will find nice decorated guest sitting/dining-room where you may enjoy a complimentary full breakfast, lunch or dinner. We have big, orchard in front of our house. Spacious meeting room is ready for your celebration or meeting.

August 2007 was the Centenary Celebration for all the Scouts round the world. Scout movement, first Founded by Lord Baden Powell in 1907, played the great and irreplaceable role in the history of 20th century. Just for 100 years the Movement has gathered more than 28 million scouts, girls and boys.
The mission of Scouting movement is to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society. This is achieved by:
involving them throughout their formative years in a non-formal educational process
using a specific method that makes each individual the principal agent of his or her development as a self-reliant, supportive, responsible and committed person
assisting them to establish a value system based upon spiritual, social and personal principles as expressed in the Promise and Law.
The purpose of the strategy is to implement the Mission. The adoption of the Strategy in 1999 was a major milestone for world Scouting. The strategy and the six challenges identified are essential in achieving the mission.
Six Challenges
Six challenges were identified at the Durban Conference and need to be addressed to achieve our mission are:

Association of Scouts of Azerbaijan (Azərbaycan Skautlar Assosiasiyası) was founded on 11th of October 1997, when Namik Jafarov, the former president of association gathered the first members of the new movement and pitched the first scout camp in Nabran (Northern region of Azerbaijan).
