This video shows about 20 hours of programming that ended up failing to produce flocking behavior. There are many math details that became big time wasters. I have two AI books to learn from and there is plenty of online source code too. I needed more familiarity with the steering techniques. Cramming all this work into a 26 hour period did not help to build familiarity. What was surprising is that it is conceptually simple, but flocking does challenge my programming skills beyond my ability. I guess part of the challenge is how complex the flocking behavior is made. Still, no familiarity with coding flocking made it impossible to know what I was in for.
