WPCH-TV
WPCH-TV, virtual channel 17 (UHF digital channel 20), is an independent television station located in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The station is owned by the Turner Broadcasting System subsidiary of Time Warner; the Meredith Corporation, which owns CBS affiliate WGCL-TV (channel 46), operates WPCH-TV under a local marketing agreement. The two stations share studio facilities located on 14th Street in northwestern Atlanta; WPCH maintains transmitter facilities located in North Druid Hills. Syndicated programs featured on WPCH-TV includes The King of Queens, The Cosby Show, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Seinfeld and The Big Bang Theory.
Through its ownership, WPCH-TV is the only broadcast television station owned by Time Warner (this is despite the fact that the company is half-owner of The CW, which carries its programming locally on WUPA (channel 69), owned by fellow CW half-owner CBS Corporation). From December 17, 1976 to October 1, 2007, when its operations were separated from the co-owned TBS cable channel, channel 17 was the pioneering superstation and was carried on cable and satellite television providers throughout the United States and Canada; the station continues to be available throughout Canada on cable and satellite.
