Vicksburg Mayor Paul Winfield sits down for an extremely candid conversation with our guest host extraordinaire, Robyn Lea. Mayor Winfield addresses some criticisms that he and Aldermen Beauman and Mayfield have been the recipient of in recent days. In doing so, he delivers lots of information about the timeline of events leading up to today's crest and the preparatory actions that he and the Aldermen put into place early on. Mayor Winfield discusses what can be expected from the administration in the near future and what can be expected in the long term. He stresses the lengthy process that will be our recovery as the waters of the Mississippi recede. Particularly informative is the discussion of the foreseeable economic impact of the flood. Reporter Mike Connoy is palyed by actor Lionel Murton. Murton played small roles in a number of films and television, but there is no record on his having any other Radio work. Mike Connoy is a reporter for an American newspaper, but based in Paris. Connoy gets involved in Wartime espionage, Postwar spy cases, murder mysteries, cases of mistaken identity, blackmail, and art theft. Like any good fictional reporter, he always has the mystery figured out long before the police, and scoops his competitors in the process. All in all, Europe Confidential is a fun piece of 1950's radio entertainment. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Very good television movie about the exploitation of migrant workers in US farm camps. What it lacks in subtlety it makes up in the truth of the situations it depicts. Features strong performances by Paul Winfield and Mr. Walton himself, Ralph Waite. Jennifer Jason Leigh portrays the type of character she would play for the next several films and TV appearances - a shy, withdrawn girl who undergoes traumatic events but emerges as a survivor. Her acting has progressed notably from her previous TV movie, The Young Runaways. This channel is a tribute to my favorite actress Jennifer Jason Leigh. None of the videos on this channel are commercially available. If any become available (and I hope they do) I will remove them immediately. All Jennifer Jason Leigh, all the time on jjlchannel ...
