Adding a little bit of stage lighting is an easy and somewhat inexpensive way to liven your next party or DJ gig. In this basic video tutorial, we go over PAR can lights and the different sizes, adding colored gels for the perfect effect/ambiance, and discuss dimmer packs.

No nonsense stage lighting simplicity is the key when performing on small stages and venues. In this video I demonstrate relatively cheap and easy stage lighting. When cost, easy of setup and space saving is important RGB LED lighting is hard to beat.
These PAR 64 LED Cans are great but they have a very narrow spot which doesn't work well in small venues. Adding a diffuser to the front of them using a opaque plastic bag spreads the light making them more usable for small gigs.
Also in this video I describe and demonstrate different lighting locations they may be desirable on stage.

Stage lighting
Stage lighting is the craft of lighting as it applies to the production of theatre, dance, opera and other performance arts. Several different types of stage lighting instruments are used in this discipline. In addition to basic lighting, modern stage lighting can also include special effects, such as lasers and fog machines. People who work on stage lighting are commonly referred to as lighting technicians.
The equipment used for stage lighting (e.g., cabling, dimmers, lighting instruments, controllers) are also used in other lighting applications, including corporate events, concerts, trade shows, broadcast television, film production, photographic studios, and other types of live events. The personnel needed to install, operate, and control the equipment also cross over into these different areas of "stage lighting" applications.
History
The earliest known form of stage lighting was during the early Grecian (and later the Roman) theatres. They would build their theatres facing east to west so that in the afternoon they could perform plays and have the natural sunlight hit the actors, but not those seated in the orchestra. Natural light continued to be utilized when playhouses were built with a large circular opening at the top of the theatre. Early Modern English theatres were roofless, allowing natural light to be utilized for lighting the stage. As theatres moved indoors, artificial lighting became a necessity and it was developed as theatres and technology became more advanced. At an unknown date, candlelight was introduced which brought more developments to theatrical lighting across Europe.

Dancing stage volumetric lighting in c4d tutorial
up to 20 minutes is the modelling process. Lighting starts at 20 minutes. If you just want to get the lighting technique skip to 20 minutes. In this tutorial you will learn about the mograph module, cloner and random effector, sweep nurbs and instancing to quickly model and light the dancing light stage. IES lighting in c4d is awesome. if you combine with visible light using volumetric option you can get amazing result. This is my full lighting show with 90 lighting fixtures all controlled by a single Windows XP based PC using the DMX Control software by Stefan Krupop. Absolutely brilliant, perhaps not entirely stable when using the MadMaxOne Matrix Plug-In, but I was so thoroughly impressed by what it could achieve!
If you are in a band, a DJ, or organising your own indoor or outdoor music festival in the UK, then this lighting show is FOR HIRE! Best suited for audience sizes from 300 to 2000 people. 3000 at a push. It usually takes a day to set up, and can optionally come with a 15,000 watt Peavey Versarray sound system (40 channel FOH desk and optional monitor mix). This video is good, but doesn't really do the show ANY justice! It's something that has to be experienced. Get in touch to find out more.
Highlights include the 10 moving heads, the lasers - particularly the Laser Know How RGB 2200 full colour laser, and of course the Verticolor matrix at the back of the stage. Unfortunately due to the nature of ultra violet light it tends to show up on the camera as blue - which is why everything can appear a little heavy in the blue department.
As if that wasn't enough - I wrote all the music for this video!
