The Yayoi period (弥生時代, Yayoi jidai) is an Iron Age era in the history of Japan traditionally dated 300 BC to AD 300. It is named after the neighborhood of Tokyo where archaeologists first uncovered artifacts and features from that era. Distinguishing characteristics of the Yayoi period include the appearance of new pottery styles and the start of an intensive rice agriculture in paddy fields. A hierarchical social class structure dates from this period. Techniques in metallurgy based on the use of bronze and iron were also introduced to Japan in this period.
The Yayoi followed the Jōmon period (13,000–400 BC) and Yayoi culture flourished in a geographic area from southern Kyūshū to northern Honshū. Archaeological evidence supports the idea that during this time, an influx of farmers from the Asian continent to Japan absorbed or overwhelmed the native hunter-gatherer population.
The Yayoi period is traditionally dated from 300 BC to AD 300. The earliest archaeological evidence of the Yayoi is found on northern Kyūshū, though this is still debated. Yayoi culture quickly spread to the main island of Honshū mixing with native Jōmon culture. A recent study that used accelerator mass spectrometry to analyze carbonized remains on pottery and wooden stakes, suggests that they dated back to 900–800 BC, 500 years earlier than previously believed.

In Fukuoka, Kyushu is the small reconstructed site of a Yayoi village in the Itazuke area. It's believed to be one for the first villages of the Yayoi culture. The Yayoi Period began around 300 BC (though some say earlier) primarily in Kyushu before spreading through the rest of the country. Yayoi replaced the earlier Jomon culture of hunters and gatherers introducing advanced rice-growing techniques. Yayoi may have also introduced war as the village in Itazuke has defensive moats and later Yayoi sites have shown evidence of violent deaths. I went here a few years ago and with my usual speed I'm just now uploading this.

Kofun (古墳, from Sino-Japanese "ancient grave") are megalithic tombs or tumuli in Japan, constructed between the early 3rd century and the early 7th century AD. They gave their name to the Kofun period (middle 3rd century to early-middle 6th century). Many of the Kofun have distinctive keyhole-shaped mounds (zenpo-koenfun (前方後円墳?)), which are unique to ancient Japan. The Mozu-Furuichi kofungun or tumulus clusters have been proposed for inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List, while Ishibutai Kofun is one of a number in Asuka-Fujiwara similarly residing on the Tentative List

Human habitation in the Japanese archipelago can be traced back to prehistoric times. The Jōmon period, named after its "cord-marked" pottery, was followed by the Yayoi in the first millennium BC, when new technologies were introduced from continental Asia. During this period, in the first century AD, the first known written reference to Japan was recorded in the Chinese Book of Han. Between the third century and the eighth century, Japan's many kingdoms and tribes gradually came to be unified under a centralized government, nominally controlled by the Emperor. The imperial dynasty established at this time continues to reign over Japan to this day. In 794, a new imperial capital was established at Heian-kyō (modern Kyoto), marking the beginning of the Heian period, which lasted until 1185....

Well I looked out of my window this morning
and I saw the strangest thing
Everyone was walking on water and dancing in the rain
Oh darlin' I got so jealous
Just wishin' you were here with me
And I saw the prettiest people
They were kissing in the street
They didn't care who was watching
In the middle of the street
Didn't care who was watching
Well I can see blue in the sky when it's raining
And I can see blue in the sky when it's raining
And I can see blue in the sky when it's raining
Raining on me and I'm waiting on you
Just sitting here watching the weather
And I can feel the air is getting colder
They say sometimes the sunshine of a party
She's the first one to go she doesnt give any warning
She just gets up and goes she doesnt give any warning
I can see blue in the sky when its raining
And I can see blue in the sky when its raining
And I can see blue in the sky when its raining
Raining on me and I'm waiting on you
Oh, no no no no
Oh what would you do if I showed up
Oh at your doorstep just ready to go
Would you send me away
Or would you come out and play
It's just a little bit of rain and I'm leaving today
It's just a little bit of rain and I'm leaving today
'Cause I can see blue in the sky when its raining
And I can see blue in the sky when its raining
And I can see blue in the sky when its raining
Raining on me and I'm waiting on you
Oh I can see blue in the sky when it's raining
Oh I can see blue in the sky when it's raining
Oh I can see blue in the sky when it's raining
Raining on me and I'm waiting on you
Oh I can see you, no I can see you
Oh I can see you, no I can see you
Oh I can see you, no I can see you
Oh I can see you you you you.
And I can see blue in the sky when it's raining
And I can see blue in the sky when it's raining
And I can see you in my eyes when it's raining
