During the winter of 2014/2015, corresponding with Turner Contemporary's spring 2015 exhibition Self: Image and Identity, artist-in-residence Felicity Allen explored how women’s work in the arts continues to shift ideas about artistic practice and how to record it.
Building on her previous Dialogic Portraits project, Begin Again, Felicity worked with young women preparing to study and shape their careers and with women who are already known for the work they have produced, whether as artists, curators, art historians, art teachers, or a mixture of all and any of these.
In discussion with the sitters, portraits were produced using a mix of traditional and new forms; exploring the slowness of sitting with the momentary appearance associated with the watercolour, the portraits also made use of conversation and recording technologies.
Dialogic Portraits was exhibited from 3 - 29 March 2015 in our Clore Learning Studio.
Supported with investment from Artswork, the South East Bridge and ICR, an Interreg project.

Dialogic Process is a movement and a choice. There is no 1 individual that takes credit over another. We function as a family we support the listeners and the listeners support us. Nothing can ever be completely original, everything we know and understand as human beings comes from something we saw or heard somewhere. We are just here to connect and share with you our music and culture which we feel is the very embodiment of this type of thinking. We are all stuck on this cycle or RE-cycle of life if you will, and every day we are all learning. Dialogic Process is made up of Dizzy Villain, Pyrex One and other friends and family that drop by as time and life permit. Members and features to date include Sudden Impact, Giomatic, and Osirus.

The first two webinars in this four part series introduced viewers to the theoretical framework of Demand-Control Schema (DC-S) and how to discuss interpreting demands/controls using a paradigm of teleological ethics. This included an explanation of demand constellations, consequences and professional values. Some viewers then participated in two online learning communities were they continued to learn about demand-control analyses. The third webinar puts all the DC-S constructs together (identifying and articulating demands, controls, and consequences and their relationship to professional values and professional responsibility) by using sample cases and situated practice examples to highlight how these DC-S constructs are used to analyze interpreting cases. Note: This webinar series is taught with the assumption that viewers have the information from each previous webinar and online learning community.
