Are you from the Northeast, Southeast? We kind of use the little map that the AAPC does, so 1-2 is the Northeast, 3-4 is Southeast, 5-6 Central, 7 Midwest, 8 West Coast. That's how I identified them; hopefully, I didn't offend anyone or did it wrong. Alright, I'm going to close the poll, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. So, 24% from the Northeast, 32% from the Southeast, 18% Central, 13% Midwest, and 14% West Coast. Pretty good sampling there considering the time difference, because West Coast, it's five o'clock when we start.- published: 22 Aug 2013

Contest Coding Episode 29 - Darts
Description: In one variant of the game of darts, players throw darts at regions around the board numbered from 1 to 20. The point value of each throw is given by the number of the region in which the dart lands. Each of the twenty regions has a doubling area and a tripling area. If a dart lands in a doubling area, its point value is worth twice the number of the surrounding region. If a dart lands in a tripling area, its point value is worth three times the number of the surrounding region. In addition, there are two other regions in the board that are not part of any numbered region. One region is worth 25 points, and the other is worth 50 points. There are no doubling or tripling areas for these last two regions. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Download Link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/uc5d9n2e5g9mdv3/hgaNVmwZ4B ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you have a problem you want me to solve, leave a comment on the video or send me a message. The BirdSnake Tour
In December 2011 a group of skateboarders went on an unusal journey through South Africa to travel and skate the country and aswell try to bring their passion closer to the kids in the poor areas. The "Birdsnake" tour is their story, a 35 minute skate-documentary about how they collected boards and shoes to give to the kids, taught them how to roll around with a skateboard and of course filled with lots of music, colourful landscapes and skateboarding.
The DVD (region code free) also comes with a 20 page booklet with background information about the journey. Also it is your chance now to support the kids aswell, by buying a DVD you automatically donate 5,- Euros to "Aktion Deutschland Hilft", a well known german charity organisation. The Times iPad infographic - “Health Profile of England” by Applied Works
This infographic was created for The Times’ iPad app to illustrate the striking differences in health performance of regions in the North and South of England.
32 different indicators of health are accessed via a navigation wheel, giving access to colour coded maps of England. The profile of each region is accessible either via the map itself or through the navigation wheels at the foot of the page. A traffic light colour code indicates whether a statistic is better than (green), worse than (red) or not significantly different to (yellow) the national average.
This graphic has been produced along with a series of others for The Times iPad app, including an infographic illustrating the scale of the UK national debt, a World Cup planner and a Battle of Britain commemorative slideshow. View video demos of these here: http://www.vimeo.com/13761997.

Visualisation of Activity in Afghanistan using the Wikileaks data
This is a visualisation of activity in Afghanistan from 2004 to 2009 based on the Wikileaks data set. Here we're thinking of activity as the number of events logged in a small region of the map over a 1 month window. These events consist of all the different types of activity going on in Afghanistan.
The intensity of the heatmap represents the number of events logged. The colour range is from 0 to 60+ events over a one month window. We cap the colour range at 60 events so that low intensity activity involving just a handful of events can be seen - in lots of cases there are many more than 60 events in one particular region. The heatmap is constructed for every day in the period from 2004-2009, and the movie runs at 10 days per second.
The orange lines represent the major roads in Afghanistan, and the black outlines are the individual administrative regions.
The R code used to generate this movie, and more information about this project and its authors, can be found online and open-source at http://github.com/drewconway/WikiLeaks_Analysis. The majority of this work was done at the August bit.ly hackathon in NYC, by Mike Dewar (Columbia Engineering), Drew Conway (NYU Politics), John Myles White (Princeton Psychology) and Harlan Harris (Kaplan).

How to define 5' and 3' end of DNA or RNA?
How to define 5' and 3' end of DNA or RNA?
Directionality, in molecular biology and biochemistry, is the end-to-end chemical orientation of a single strand of nucleic acid. The chemical convention of naming carbon atoms in the nucleotide sugar-ring numerically gives rise to a 5′-end and a 3′-end (usually pronounced "five prime end" and "three prime end"). The relative positions of structures along a strand of nucleic acid, including genes and various protein binding sites, are usually noted as being either upstream (towards the 5′-end) or downstream (towards the 3′-end). (See also upstream and downstream.) This naming convention is important because nucleic acids can only be synthesized in vivo in the 5′-to-3′ direction, as the polymerase that assembles new strands only attaches new nucleotides to the 3′-hydroxyl (-OH) group, via a phosphodiester bond. Directionality is related to, but independent from sense. In coding DNA, codons read 5′--ATG--⋯--3′ on the sense strand, and 3′--TAC--⋯--5′ on the complementary antisense strand. Thus only the antisense strand will be transcribed to sense (5′--AUG--⋯--3′) mRNA. By convention, single strands of DNA and RNA sequences are written in 5′-to-3′ direction. 5′-end In the DNA segment shown, the 5′ to 3′ directions are down the left strand and up the right strand The 5′-end (pronounced "five prime end") designates the end of the DNA or RNA strand that has the fifth carbon in the sugar-ring of the deoxyribose or ribose at its terminus. A phosphate group attached to the 5′-end permits ligation of two nucleotides, i.e., the covalent binding of a 5′-phosphate to the 3′-hydroxyl group of another nucleotide, to form a phosphodiester bond. Removal of the 5′-phosphate prevents ligation. To prevent unwanted nucleic acid ligation (e.g. self-ligation of a plasmid vector in DNA cloning), molecular biologists commonly remove the 5′-phosphate with a phosphatase. The 5′-end of nascent messenger RNA is the site at which post-transcriptional capping occurs, a process which is vital to producing mature messenger RNA. Capping increases the stability of the messenger RNA while it undergoes translation, providing resistance to the degradative effects of exonucleases It consists of a methylated nucleotide (methylguanosine) attached to the messenger RNA in a rare 5′- to 5′-triphosphate linkage. The 5′-flanking region of a gene often denotes a region of DNA which is not transcribed into RNA. The 5′-flanking region contains the gene promoter, and may also contain enhancers or other protein binding sites. The 5′-untranslated region (5′-UTR) is a region of a gene which is transcribed into mRNA, and is located at the 5′-end of the mRNA, but which does not contain protein-coding sequence. The 5′-untranslated region is the portion of the DNA starting from the cap site and extending to the base just before the AUG translation initiation codon. While not itself translated, this region may have sequences, such as the ribosome binding site and Kozak sequence, which determine the translation efficiency of the mRNA, or which may affect the stability of the mRNA. 3′-end Phosphodiester bonds (circled) between nucleotides The 3′-end of a strand is so named due to it terminating at the hydroxyl group of the third carbon in the sugar-ring, and is known as the tail end. The 3′-hydroxyl is necessary in the synthesis of new nucleic acid molecules as it is ligated (joined) to the 5′-phosphate of a separate nucleotide, allowing the formation of strands of linked nucleotides. Molecular biologists can use nucleotides that lack a 3′-hydroxyl (dideoxyribonucleotides) to interrupt the replication of DNA. This technique is known as the dideoxy chain-termination termination method or the Sanger method, and is used to determine the order of nucleotides in DNA. The 3′-end of nascent messenger RNA is the site of post-transcriptional polyadenylation, which attaches a chain of 50 to 250 adenosine residues to produce mature messenger RNA. This chain helps in determining how long the messenger RNA lasts in the cell, influencing how much protein is produced from it. The 3′-flanking region is a region of DNA that is not copied into the mature mRNA, but which is present adjacent to 3′-end of the gene. It was originally thought that the 3′-flanking DNA was not transcribed at all, but it was discovered to be transcribed into RNA and quickly removed during processing of the primary transcript to form the mature mRNA. The 3′-flanking region often contains sequences that affect the formation of the 3′-end of the message. It may also contain enhancers or other sites to which proteins may bind.- published: 19 Oct 2013

Download AnyDVD & AnyDVD HD 7 Final+ CRACK
FREE DOWNLOAD: http://www.upload.ee/files/3741433/30.AnyDVD___AnyDVD_HD_7.rar.html Slysoft AnyDVD HD is one of those programs which doesn't appear to do very much, but which is essential in certain circumstances. It disables copy protection and region coding, so you can play just about any DVD -- see what Slysoft did with the name, there? -- on a PC and run a copying program to make a backup. See all software reviews. What AnyDVD HD doesn't do is copy the DVD -- for that you'll need a separate DVD copy application, like Nero or Slysoft's own CloneDVD. AnyDVD HD sits in the background and enables you to run whatever playback or backup software you want, just as if it's an unprotected DVD. The usual caveat applies to this software, that copying a commercial movie DVD infringes the movie producer's intellectual property and may well be an offence. There are a few legitimate reasons why you might want to make a copy of a DVD, though. The first is for backup, as it's not that difficult to scratch a DVD and make it unplayable. Backing up a legitimately purchased DVD for your own security is a grey area, but as long as you don't sell on the original or the copy, it's unlikely you'll have FAST at your door. See all CD/DVD-authoring reviews. You could also have been living abroad and have built up a collection of DVD movies from a different coding region. Assuming you can't continue to use the playback equipment you used when you were abroad, it seems reasonable to want to make copies of your movies with the new region code, when you return home.- published: 23 Jan 2014

For an introductory genetics class (BIOL 234, UBC). Two genes on a chromosome of some undefined distance apart are both disrupted by an inversion. One breakpoint affects what regulatory elements influence one gene. The other breakpoint disrupts a coding region of a second gene.- published: 24 Sep 2013
