Turin Brakes is an English band, comprising original duo Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian, and long term collaborators Rob Allum and Eddie Myer. They had a UK top 5 hit with their song "Painkiller (Summer Rain)". Since starting out in 1999, the band have sold around 1 million records worldwide. They are currently signed to Cooking Vinyl.
The band was started by longtime friends Knights and Paridjanian. The two met at a young age and spent much of their childhood together. Although they split after Knights went to film school and Paridjanian attempted to form a band in Toronto, Canada, they soon reunited and collaborated on what would later become their first EP, The Door, which was eventually released through Anvil Records in 1999 as a limited vinyl release. This led to the band attracting the attention of larger record labels. Source Records would eventually release two more EPs, The State of Things EP and Fight or Flight, prompting NME to proclaim "Turin Brakes inhabit a space which is entirely their own, fully formed and brutally emotive... give them the devotion they deserve."

BMX, an abbreviation for bicycle motocross, is a cycle sport performed on BMX bikes, either in competitive BMX racing or freestyle BMX, or else in general on- or off-road recreation. BMX began when young cyclists appropriated motocross tracks for fun, racing and stunts, eventually evolving specialized BMX bikes and competitions.
BMX began in the early 1970s when children began racing their bicycles on dirt tracks in southern California, inspired by the motocross stars of the time. The size and availability of the Schwinn Sting-Ray and other wheelie bikes made them the natural bike of choice for these races, since they were easily customized for better handling and performance. BMX racing was a phenomenon by the mid-1970s. Children were racing standard road bikes off-road, around purpose-built tracks in California. The 1972 motorcycle racing documentary On Any Sunday is generally credited with inspiring the movement nationally in the United States; its opening scene shows kids riding their Sting-Rays off-road. By the middle of that decade, the sport achieved critical mass, and manufacturers began creating bicycles designed especially for the sport.

We drove over to the Manasquan Reservoir in Howell, NJ and took our BMX Bikes for a ride around the awesome 5 mile fitness trail! Growing up in the same town, I spent countless days riding my bike around it and it's truly one of my favorite places to ride in the world! Matty Cranmer and Big Boy came for the ride and this was actually the first time I touched my BMX bike since I broke my back at the Xgames and I was so happy to pedal around again! Just as we always do we found some fun things to ride and to have a few laughs about! My favorite part was when Big Boy decided to ride his bike into the reservoir! He made it like 25 feet into the water before he officially sank! It was amazing! We are definitely going to head back this summer and see just how fast we can make it around it! Follo...

It's beautiful here in NJ in early June so we decided to get the road bikes out and tuned up and take a ride down the Manasquan Bike path to the beach! Me, Big Boy, and Matty headed east and I brought my camera along for the ride! Anything that we do involves countless laughs and good times and this trip was no different! Big Boy was trying bunny hops on his road bike and he dropped his Iphone on the road twice! Matty Cranmer was trying to take his BMX skills to the road bike and tried doing a 180 nosepiece fake down a hill! Remade it to the beach and Big Boy and Matty both decided to take a dip and Big Boy gave the whole Beach a show when his shorts were taken off by a wave! It was an awesome ride and I can't wait to do it again! Follow me @SCOTTYCRANMER and remember to SUBSCRIBE!
We took our Mountain bikes over to Allaire State park, well when I see "we" I mean me and Matty. Big Boy, doesn't have a MTB so he decided to bring his BMX there! I haven't rode the trails there in years and I was so excited to finally head back and ride. We cruised some awesome downhill tight twisty trails and then found a big drop that Matty did! Then we wandered deeper into the woods and found some really aggressive twisting trails and Big Boy, being a brakeless rider lost control and crashed off the trail flipping over a log! It was scary but man was it funny! After that er got so lost and had to use the GPS on our phones to help lead us back in the right direction so we followed a stream toward the road and the trail ended so we hiked through mud and got all sorts of dirty while colle...

Tate's got just about the most original perspective on BMX you can imagine. I think years ago when Jim C said "I just want to see what's possible", Tate took his words at face value. His riding is less about making a statement and more about asking questions. What is a bike trick? What is a street spot? The answers aren't always pretty (I'm sure he isn't going to start riding around with his stem bolts loose full time) but they're always interesting and Tate is alway...
Beautiful evening here in NJ so we all decided to go on a 30 mile road bike ride! Matty, Vinny, Big Boy, and myself started pedaling east towards the Jersey Shore for one reason to get Big Boy Ice Cream! We rode all the way there for ice cream.. We almost saw a car accident! and we saw a really nice Toyota Supra! We had so many laughs along the way and it felt amazing to be on the bikes again! We all met up at Jackson skatepark to play a Game Of Bike! Matty Cranmer vs BIG BOY vs Cory "puppy arms" Berglar! The game started off with us checking out Big Boy's new haircut which gives him a striking resemblance to Simple Jack from Tropic Thunder! So we quoted the movie as often as we could! Then Cory forgot his helmet so Matty shared his helmet with him in between turns! Then Cory's bad luck continued when he got a flat tire on a half cab so instead of forfeiting he decided to borrow Matty's bike as well! So the game came down to the wire and all the dudes were absolutely killing it! But my favorite part was when Dylan hopped on Big Boy's shoulders and they decided to ride around the skatepark until Dylan fell off and nearly ripped Big Boy's nose off! It was an awesome day! A new document into the sound mirrors in Dungeness, Kent. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Denge is a former Royal Air Force site near Dungeness, in Kent, England. It is best known for the early experimental acoustic mirrors which remain there. The acoustic mirrors, known colloquially as 'listening ears', at Denge are located between Greatstone-on-Sea and Lydd airfield, on the banks of a now disused gravel pit. The mirrors were built in the late 1920s and early 1930s as an experimental early warning system for incoming aircraft, developed by Dr William Sansome Tucker. Several were built along the south and east coasts, but the complex at Denge is the best preserved. There are three acoustic mirrors in the complex, each consisting of a single concrete hemispherical reflector. The 2...
