Bilaspur: Four persons, including a woman, were injured when more than half a dozen armed persons forcibly entered their house in village Barbaspur under Jatga police post of Korba district.
The dacoits had to flee as the family confronted them and braved their attack. Three members of the family have sustained critical injuries in the incident.
A motorcycle has been recovered from the spot and police are trying to trace the accused.
According to information, armed men entered into the house of Trilochan Das. Trilochan's mother Vimlabai, son Gautam and sister Madhuri were in the house when the incident took place. According to him, about seven to eight armed men broke the front door of their house during on Friday night.
The robber were armed with sticks, knives and sword. When they broke the front door, Trilochan's son Gautam woke up and went to check when he was attacked by the assailants.
Hearing his cries for help, Trilochan's mother and sister too woke up and theywere also attacked. Trilochan too woke up and rushed to the rescue of his family.
As the family resisted their attacks, robbers soon fled from the house, leaving behind a motorcycle. Trilochan's son Gautam, Vimlabai and Madhuri have sustained serious injuries in the attack, while Trilochan too has sustained injuries inflicted with sticks.
Jatga police was informed about the incident. Police have recovered a motorcycle from the spot, which was left by one of the accused. Later, Katghora SDOP also visited the village and recorded statements of the family.
Police also got them admitted to Katghora hospital.
This is the second time Trilochan Das and his family members have been attacked. Earlier, a few months ago armed men had come to his house in a Bolero and asked for water. When one of the family members opened the door, armed men attacked the family and fled. A complaint was lodged with Jatga police.
Police are carrying out further investigations into the matter.
