Scenes fit for the theatre played out when the Presidential Guard Brigade, PGB tussled it out with Libyan president Col. Muammar Gadaffi's security detail before the opening ceremony. The PGB was strictly enforcing the rule that only Presidents and their aides and the head of protocol are allowed to proceed to the presidential entrance. But this did not go down well Gaddafi's security who were determined to flex their muscles over this rule.

Barack Hussein Obama II (
i/bəˈrɑːk huːˈseɪn oʊˈbɑːmə/; born August 4, 1961) is the 44th and current President of the United States. He is the first African American to hold the office. In January 2005, Obama was sworn in as a U.S. Senator in the state of Illinois. He would hold this office until November 2008, when he resigned following his victory in the 2008 presidential election.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Obama is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he was the president of the Harvard Law Review. He was a community organizer in Chicago before earning his law degree. He worked as a civil rights attorney in Chicago and taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004. He served three terms representing the 13th District in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004.
Following an unsuccessful bid against the Democratic incumbent for a seat in the United States House of Representatives in 2000, Obama ran for the United States Senate in 2004. Several events brought him to national attention during the campaign, including his victory in the March 2004 Illinois Democratic primary for the Senate election and his keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in July 2004. He won election to the U.S. Senate in Illinois in November 2004. His presidential campaign began in February 2007, and after a close campaign in the 2008 Democratic Party presidential primaries against Hillary Rodham Clinton, he won his party's nomination. In the 2008 presidential election, he defeated Republican nominee John McCain, and was inaugurated as president on January 20, 2009. Nine months later, Obama was named the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize laureate. In April 2011, he announced that he would be running for re-election in 2012.

He tells Katniss that while on tour she better try to make sure that she puts out the flames or else everyone she cares about will be in danger. But unfortunately she fails to do that. So Snow decides to enact what is known as the Quarter Quell, the right to make a change to the Hunger Games, which he is allowed to do every 25 years. He decides to hold an edition of the Hunger Games wherein previous winners will compete again. Their mentor Haymitch thinks their best chance to survive is form an alliance with some of the others. They decide to align themselves with Finnick and his partner, Mags. But Snow is secretly hoping Katniss will be killed.

Guard Mounting, or Changing the Guard, refers to a formal ceremony in which sentries providing ceremonial guard duties at important institutions are relieved by a new batch of sentries. The ceremonies are often elaborate and precisely choreographed.

A ceremonial change of guard is held at the President of India's official place of residence The Rashtrapati Bhavan. The Changing the Guard is generally held every Saturday at 08.00 am (Summer), 10.00am (Winter). The old and new guard consists of a troop from the President's Body Guard (PBG) and another platoon from one of the numerous regiments of the Indian Army. A military band also would be present as an accompaniment.When the New Guard is formed up between the Dominion columns of North Block sentries are nominated and the respective guards are inspected by their officers as the band plays 'Sammaan Guard' (The Honour Guard). Men of the President's Bodyguard consists of the old warrior classes of the Rajputs, Sikhs and the Jats. Recruitment standards are strict and the minimum height is six feet.
After the inspection is over, a formal march commences with the band playing "Sher-E-Jawan" (Tiger of a soldier), into the Forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The New Guard forms up along with the Old Guard and awaits the formal salutation of "Salami Shastra" (Present Arms) by the latter to the former to formally salute it and signify readiness for change over. Accompanied by the tune "Robinson" handing over of key takes place the Junior Commissioned Officer of the Old and New Guard patrol, symbolizing responsibility of commanders during changeover.
Sentries of the Old Guard rejoin and the Junior Commissioned Officers return to their posts. The Old Guard marches off to the tune "Saare Jahan Se Achcha" (Better than any nation). Compliments are paid by the New Guard which assumes charge and the balance of the New Guard marches off along with band playing "Amar Jawan" (Immortal Soldier).
PRESIDENT'S BODY GUARD : The President's Bodyguard, raised in 1773, is the senior most Regiment of the Indian Army. It is a Regiment with horses carrying out ceremonial duties for The President. Its officers and men are excellent horsemen, capable tank men and paratroopers. Since Independence, it has seen action in 1962 at Chushul, in 1965 in the Western Theatre, in 1988 in Sri Lanka. The men of the Bodyguard have also served in UN Operations in Somalia, Angola, Sierra Leone and Sudan. A detachment of the President's Body Guard also serves on the highest and coldest battlefield in the world, the Siachen Glacier. The physical standards for recruitment into this elite Regiment are very exacting, six feet being the minimum height for enrolment. The horses also have to be more than 15.2 hands. The men carry both, a lance with a red and white cavalry pennant and a Cavalry sabre. The horses are adorned with shabracks, throat ornaments and white brow bands.

Ο Μητροπολίτης Νέας Ιερσέης κ. Ευάγγελος μαζί με τον κλήρο και το λαό της Ιεράς Μητροπόλεως Νέας Ιερσέης υποδέχθηκαν τους Ευζώνους της Προεδρικής Φρουράς της Ελλάδος χθες Πέμπτη 14 Απριλίου στην κοινότητα του Καθεδρικού Ναού του Αγίου Ιωάννου του Θεολόγου στο Τέναφλαϊ της Νέας Ιερσέης. Στη διάρκεια της εκδήλωσης που πραγματοποιήθηκε χθες βράδυ στο κοινοτικό "Peace Memorial Gymnasium" παρουσία αντιπροσωπειών από πολλές κοινότητες της Νέας Ιερσέης έγινε παρουσίαση της Προεδρικής Φρουράς και ανταλλαγή δώρων, ενώ το χορευτικό τμήμα του Καθεδρικού του Αγίου Ιωάννου παρουσίασε ένα σύντομο πρόγραμμα με χορούς από όλη την Ελλάδα. Το άγημα αυτό των Ευζώνων πρόκειται να συμμετάσχει στην παρέλαση του Ελληνισμού της Φιλαδέλφειας την Κυριακή 17 Απριλίου.

► The Evzones form the Presidential Guard, a battalion composed of 2 Evzone companies and 1 command company. They operate out of the " Georgios Tzavelas " barracks (named to honor Georgios Tzavelas, a chieftain and hero of the Greek Revolution of 1821) on " Herodou Attikou " Street, just behind the Parliament building.
The Guard takes precedence in all military parades. Their march style consists of normal march time, and at intervals, for several paces, striking the ground forcefully with the right foot. Their standard marching music is the " Evzonaki " ("little Evzone") ( Greek: Ευζωνάκι ) march, played at 48 beats/min. They guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier round the clock. Guards on duty perform their movements in a very slow and highly stylized manner. They switch positions with each other every fifteen minutes and remain completely motionless and at attention in the meantime. Since the Guards are required to be totally still at all times, there is one Evzone in normal fatigues uniform and police surveillance to ensure that no one approaches or harasses the Guards while on duty. The "little changes" take place every hour on the hour, and involve the two incoming and two outgoing sentries, and a supervising "Corporal of the Change". The Grand Change takes place at 11 am on Sunday mornings, and involves the whole Guard with its officers and a military band, all marching from the Guard Barracks to the Tomb for the Change, and back. The Grand Change is a popular Sunday morning spectacle for Athenians and tourists alike.

► Ενώ για όλα τα σώματα του Ελληνικού Στρατού η Κυριακή είναι μια μέρα ξεκούρασης και χαλάρωσης, για την Προεδρική Φρουρά είναι το αντίθετο.
Το πρόγραμμα ξεκινά με την έπαρση της σημαίας στον Βράχο της Ακρόπολης. Τιμητικό άγημα αποτελούμενο από σώμα Ευζώνων, από Αξιωματικό και Βρακοφόρο Κρητικό με την συνοδεία μπάντας εκτελούν την έπαρση της Σημαίας. Το ίδιο συμβαίνει και το απόγευμα όπου εκτελείται η υποστολή.
Περίπου στην 09:30 αρχίζει το τελετουργικό μέσα στο στρατόπεδο της Προεδρικής Φρουράς. Ένας Λόχος Ευζώνων σε παράταξη αποδίδει Τιμές στην Σημαία του Τάγματος την οποία φέρει Αξιωματικός της Φρουράς.
Έπειτα όλο το Άγημα κατευθύνεται στο Μνημείο Του Αγνώστου Στρατιώτη μέσω της οδού Β. Σοφίας. Το ένα ρεύμα της οδού κλείνει και το θέαμα με το άγημα να κατηφορίζει την οδό είναι μοναδικό. Κόσμος σταματά και με δέος παρακολουθεί τους Εύζωνες να παρελαύνουν σε επιβλητικό σχηματισμό. Η Πλατεία Συντάγματος είναι γεμάτη από τουρίστες που παίρνουν θέση για να παρακολουθήσουν την Επίσημη Αλλαγή. Η διαδικασία Αλλαγής είναι η ίδια με τις υπόλοιπες μέρες αλλά γίνεται πιο επιβλητική με την παρουσία ολόκληρου λόχου Ευζώνων και με τον τρόπο που γίνονται τα Βήματα της Αλλαγής.
Με το πέρας της Αλλαγής και το άκουσμα του Εθνικού Ύμνου το άγημα επιστρέφει στο στρατόπεδο με τον ίδιο τρόπο. Αξιοσημείωτο είναι ότι οι Εύζωνες που έχουν αναλάβει την υπηρεσία στο Μνημείο, από την στιγμή που θα ανέβουν στο Μνημείο και μέχρι να αποχωρήσει το Άγημα, βρίσκεται σε στάση « παρουσιάστε ».
