Sunday morning the 3rd January, I made to the airport on-time and go through the baggage security check. After cleared the security checkpoint, I go to check-in counter for Bangkok flight. It was a fast check-in because I was flying a business class. At passport immigration, it was a rather very long lines. I tired go into premium lines but I turned back to foreign passport lines. Waited long times on very long lines. After cleared the immigration, walked into security checkpoint and reached to the gate. I didn't have time to eat in the business class lounge. The boarding begun after 22 minutes delayed, walk into to the plane and found out got surprised upgrade. The plane was Boeing 777-300ER upgraded from Airbus A330. I thought it was A330. Many passengers got surprised to see the plane got upgraded. I went inside the B777-300ER and sat on business class. Boarding was so on. I moved to the seat to see the better engine view. However, there were more passengers sat on business class seats and I moved back to same seat. Upon the plane begun to took off from MNL and en-route to BKK. The flight time was only 3 hrs and the meals were served. Starter, main course, ice cream, and the dessert. I got a drink of champagne. Good things our aircraft has seat-back TV screens. I took a nap after eat the meals and near the BKK I woke up and the plane begun to landing. The B777-300ER touchdown the runway and taxied to the gate. It was a pleasant flight on Philippine Airlines and the amazing services. I was happy the Philippine Airlines upgrade the B77W for BKK route. The plane arrived at the gate, I disembarked from the plane, heading to passport immigration, and get my luggage in the baggage claim. I queued the lines for taxi and rode to the condo. As part of the expansion of its network in the Oceania region, Philippine Airlines launched flights from Manila to Auckland via Cairns (Australia).
Today was the inaugural flight into Auckland Airport. It's also the first time PAL operates to NZ, hence the water salute.
They will operate four flights weekly (Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays) to serve the Manila-Cairns-Auckland route, utilizing the 156-seater Airbus A320.

Philippine Airlines Flight 434 (PAL434, PR434) was a flight on December 11, 1994 from Cebu to Tokyo on a Boeing 747-283B that was seriously damaged by a bomb planted by terrorist Ramzi Yousef, killing one passenger and damaging vital control systems. The bombing was a part of the unsuccessful Bojinka terrorist attacks. The Boeing 747 (tail number EI-BWF) was flying the second leg of a route from Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Pasay City in the Philippines, to New Tokyo International Airport (now Narita International Airport), Narita, in Japan, with one stop at Mactan–Cebu International Airport, Cebu, in the Philippines. After the bomb detonated, 57-year-old veteran pilot Captain Eduardo "Ed" Reyes was able to land the aircraft, saving the aircraft and the remaining passengers and crew.

Review of Philippine Airlines (PAL) Airbus A340-300 flight from Manila, Philippines to Singapore.
The Centennial Terminal 2 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport, exclusive to Philippine Airlines flights, is simple and functional. There were several flights during that period, mostly to Japan (one of which was cancelled due to a typhoon hitting Japan).
It was a pleasant surprise to find out that my flight will be operated by the longhaul Airbus A340-300 aircraft as typically, the smaller narrowbody A320 aircraft is utilised on flights to Singapore.
Onboard, it was a full flight with a rather poor entertainment system. However, the cabin crew were friendly and the meal was enjoyable. It was a nice flight with Philippine Airlines.

It was a pleasant flight on Philippine Airlines and the amazing services. I was happy the Philippine Airlines upgrade the B77W for BKK route. The plane arrived at the gate, I disembarked from the plane, heading to passport immigration, and get my luggage in the baggage claim. I queued the lines for taxi and rode to the condo. Sunday morning the 3rd January, I made to the airport on-time and go through the baggage security check. After cleared the security checkpoint, I go to check-in counter for Bangkok flight. It was a fast check-in because I was flying a business class. At passport immigration, it was a rather very long lines. I tired go into premium lines but I turned back to foreign passport lines. Waited long times on very long lines. After cleared the immigration, walked into security checkpoint and reached to the gate. I didn't have time to eat in the business class lounge. The boarding begun after 22 minutes delayed, walk into to the plane and found out got surprised upgrade. The plane was Boeing 777-300ER upgraded from Airbus A330. I thought it was A330. Many passengers got surprised to see the plane got upgraded. I went inside the B777-300ER and sat on business class. Boarding was so on. I moved to the seat to see the better engine view. The Centennial Terminal 2 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport, exclusive to Philippine Airlines flights, is simple and functional. There were several flights during that period, mostly to Japan (one of which was cancelled due to a typhoon hitting Japan).
It was a pleasant surprise to find out that my flight will be operated by the longhaul Airbus A340-300 aircraft as typically, the smaller narrowbody A320 aircraft is utilised on flights to Singapore.
Onboard, it was a full flight with a rather poor entertainment system. However, the cabin crew were friendly and the meal was enjoyable. It was a nice flight with Philippine Airlines.

Philippines Airlines A321 (Sharklets) PR319 Hong Kong (HKG) - Manila (MNL) Full Flight
This flight was going to Manila from HK on PR A321 with sharklets. We took a taxi to the airport and arrived at Terminal 2. After check-in, we went to take a train back to Terminal one. I went to check out the lounge and didn't have a time to eat. Only drank a orange juice. I went to get a bus to the another Terminal. First time on a bus since Kai Tak. Arrived at North Satellite Concourse and was my 1st time in this terminal. Board the A321 with sharklets and sat on business class seat. The seat had USB socket and no seatback TV. On takeoff it was rainy and after takeoff breaking out the cloudy. The meals were served and delicious. Dessert was also delicious. This flight was going to Manila from HK on PR A321 with sharklets. We took a taxi to the airport and arrived at Terminal 2. After check-in, we went to take a train back to Terminal one. I went to check out the lounge and didn't have a time to eat. Only drank a orange juice. I went to get a bus to the another Terminal. First time on a bus since Kai Tak. Arrived at North Satellite Concourse and was my 1st time in this terminal. Board the A321 with sharklets and sat on business class seat. The seat had USB socket and no seatback TV. On takeoff it was rainy and after takeoff breaking out the cloudy. The meals were served and delicious. Dessert was also delicious. After 1 hour and 40 minutes route, the plane begun to land in MNL and was smooth touchdown. Taxi to the gate and disembarked the plane then go thought to passport control. After cleared the immigration, we took a van to the manila area. It had been 11 years in the Philippines since last visit was 2004. I hadn't flown the Philippines Airlines for 21 years since last flown was from Caticlan to Manila on B737-300 in 1994. I had a pleasure flight on PR and good foods and services. Enjoy the watch my flight video!
