Does what it says on the tin. Over the years I've tested all the main ultra wide-angle zoom lenses for Canon's APS-C cameras, including the third party ones. They've all been tested from slightly different positions, so here's a slightly more informal video of my findings.
It's pretty hard to choose and ultra wide-angle zoom lens, because most of them are good, but in different ways. All I can do is give you my favourite couple of lenses and leave the rest down to you!

We're going to show you some photo hints and tips to help you get the best out of your wide angle photography. Wide angle (or 'short') lenses have their own unique way of seeing the world. They're dramatic, make small spaces look big and have a wide field of view - hence 'Wide Angle' lens!
Wide / short lenses are said to be somewhere around 10mm or 30mm focal length - but with digital cameras these numbers don't mean much because of varying sensor sizes. Don't get hung up about it, all you need to know is a wide lens has a relatively low focal length.

We're going to show you some photo hints and tips to help you get the best out of your wide angle photography. Wide angle (or 'short') lenses have their own unique way of seeing the world. They're dramatic, make small spaces look big and have a wide field of view - hence 'Wide Angle' lens! Wide / short lenses are said to be somewhere around 10mm or 30mm focal length - but with digital cameras these numbers don't mean much because of varying sensor sizes. Don't get hung up about it, all you need to know is a wide lens has a relatively low focal length. Does what it says on the tin. Over the years I've tested all the main ultra wide-angle zoom lenses for Canon's APS-C cameras, including the third party ones. They've all been tested from slightly different positions, so here's a slightly more informal video of my findings.
It's pretty hard to choose and ultra wide-angle zoom lens, because most of them are good, but in different ways. All I can do is give you my favourite couple of lenses and leave the rest down to you!

We're going to show you some photo hints and tips to help you get the best out of your wide angle photography. Wide angle (or 'short') lenses have their own unique way of seeing the world. They're dramatic, make small spaces look big and have a wide field of view - hence 'Wide Angle' lens!
Wide / short lenses are said to be somewhere around 10mm or 30mm focal length - but with digital cameras these numbers don't mean much because of varying sensor sizes. Don't get hung up about it, all you need to know is a wide lens has a relatively low focal length.

Which Composition is Better: Wide Angle or Panoramas? - PLP #160

When you are faced with a large landscape and want to communicate the grandness of the place it is sometimes wiser to use a panorama instead of one wide angle shot. Some of the advantages of panoramas are: 1. Less distortion 2. You can really see how big is the place 3. More resolution, huge fine art prints The workflow is as follow: 1. Find a good average F/stop speed setting, with no highlight burned 2. Retouch one of the photos, sync the result to the rest of the images in Lightroom 3. Use Photomerge to merge everything 4.
