Bheemaa is a 2008 Indian Tamil action film, written and directed by N. Linguswamy. It stars Vikram, Trisha Krishnan, Prakash Raj and Raghuvaran. The film score was by composer Harris Jayaraj, shot by cinematographer R. D. Rajasekhar, and edited by Anthony. The film was released on 14 January 2008, after two years of production delays, to mixed reviews. The release coincides with the Thai Pongal harvest festival in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
The story follows a tug of war between two underworld gangs trying to outsmart each other. Chinna’s (Prakash Raj) gang, the smaller of the two, struggles to overtake Periyavar’s (Raghuvaran) gang until a man named Sekar (Vikram) gives Chinna’s gang new life. Sekar is a man of steel, physically and mentally, who had idolised Chinna in his childhood; he is similar to the character Bhima from the ancient Hindu epic Mahabharata. Sekar challenges Periyavar’s group and puts Chinna on top.

The unexpected bold climax shows the misunderstanding between Sekar and Chinna and in that process Chinna's gang kill Trisha, Sekar kills Chinna and the police kill Sekar.

Plot
The story follows a tug of war between two underworld gangs trying to outsmart each other. Chinna’s (Prakash Raj) gang, the smaller of the two, struggles to overtake Periyavar’s (Raghuvaran) gang until a man named Sekar (Vikram) gives Chinna’s gang new life. Sekar is a man of steel, physically and mentally, who had idolised Chinna in his childhood; he is similar to the character Bhima from the ancient Hindu epic Mahabharata. Sekar challenges Periyavar’s group and puts Chinna on top.
The gangs are then targeted by the new police commissioner (Ashish Vidyarthi). Sekar later leaves the fight to settle down with his girlfriend Shalini (Trisha Krishnan). Though Chinna wants Sekar to lead his own life, his gang members want him back. In the film's climax, Chinna's gang members kill Shalini. Sekar retaliates by killing Chinna thinking that Chinna was behind the attack on Shalini. However, Chinna was trying to save Sekhar, who is then killed by police.

Ashoke has to return to Magadha, but when he returns to find and wed Kaurwaki, he is told by Bheema (Rahul Dev) that Kaurwaki and her brother Arya have been killed. Devastated Ashoke returns home. On the way home he is attacked and Devi (Hrishitaa Bhatt), of the Buddhist faith rescues him and tends to him till he gets well. As a result, Devi's marriage to her groom is cancelled. Ashoke weds her and brings her to Magadha, only to be told by his father that since Devi is not of the same race as he, she cannot be welcomed. Ashoke leaves with Devi and lives in Ujjaini. Soon Devi gets pregnant, and this arouses jealously and hatred amongst Ashoke's step-brothers. As a result they plot to kill Devi, however, their plans are foiled by Ashoke's mother, who is killed. Ashoke swears to avenge his mother's death by killing his step-brothers one by one, except for one, who has led to Kalinga. Ashoke asks the ruler of Kalings to turn over his step-brother to him, and they refuse. Ashoke swears to raze Kalinga to the ground. Ashoke is unstoppable. Even his close friend, Virat (Danny Denzongpa), too, is unable to stop Ashoke. Ashoke proceeds to war, little knowing that the queen of Kalinga is none other than Kaurwaki, who is still alive.

Durga and her mother decide to move out, but are molested. Abu Baba comes to their rescue, and as a result he is killed. Kunal is enraged, and swears to avenge Abu Baba's death. His investigation to the man behind Abu Baba's death leads him to the associates of his grandfather, and subsequently to his grandfather himself, who it seems is living a double life.
