According to ancient Greek mythology Europe was the daughter of king Agenor, in Phoenicia, and his queen Telephassa (or Argiope). Agenor himself his said to have been descended from Poseidon. Europa was sister to Cadmus, Cilix and Phoenix.
One night Europe had a very strange dream. She dreamt that the continent of Asia and the other nameless continent across the water appeared before her in the shape of women and quarrelled about who was going to own her.
Europe is mine," claimed Asia, "for I gave her birth." "She has been yours until now," replied the other continent, "but it is the will of Zeus that I should have her for my own." . Europe awoke, and later on, she went to play in a blooming meadow by the seashore.
When Zeus saw her, he instantly overwhelmed with her beauty, and sought to seduce her. Zeus hatched a plan that saw him transform himself into a perfect white bull, and made his way to the shore where Europae was gathering flowers along with her friends.
Zeus, as a white bull, allowed the women to pet him. Zeus even laid down at the feet of Europe and she eventually decided to see whether he was tame enough to ride. With Europe on his back, Zeus spots his opportunity and runs off with her into the sea.
The white bull, with Europe still on his back, eventually arrived on the shores of Crete, at which point Zeus changed himself back into his original form. Europa then readily agrees to be his lover, and went on to bore him three sons, Minos, Sarpedon and Rhadamanthys.
Europe later on married Asterion the king of Crete, and so she became the first queen of Crete. But her father King Agenor never stoped searching for her, therefore he sent out her brothers, Cadmus, Cilix, and Phoenix to find her.
Wherever they wend, they founded cities. Cadmus founded the city of Thebes in Greece and gave her sister 's name in the continent to honor her. So the dream she had, came true. The name Europe is derived from her. Cilix founded Cilicia, and Phoenix Phoenicia.
The name of Europa survives today, as the name of the continent of Europe is derived from her. Additionally the tales of Greek mythology also tell of how Zeus went on to create the constellation Taurus in remembrance of the original white bull.

In Egyptian mythology, Apis or Hapis (alternatively spelled Hapi-ankh), is a bull-deity that was worshipped in the Memphis region. "Apis served as an intermediary between humans and an all-powerful god (originally Ptah, later Osiris, then Atum)." [quote: Virtual Egyptian Museum]
According to Manetho, his worship was instituted by Kaiechos of the Second Dynasty. Apis is named on very early monuments, but little is known of the divine animal before the New Kingdom. Ceremonial burials of bulls indicate that ritual sacrifice was part of the worship of the early cow deities and a bull might represent a king who became a deity after death. He was entitled "the renewal of the life" of the Memphite god Ptah: but after death he became Osorapis, i.e. the Osiris Apis, just as dead humans were assimilated to Osiris, the king of the underworld. This Osorapis was identified with the Hellenistic Serapis, and may well be identical with him. Greek writers make the Apis an incarnation of Osiris, ignoring the connection with Ptah.
Apis was the most important of all the sacred animals in Egypt, and, as with the others, its importance increased as time went on. Greek and Roman authors have much to say about Apis, the marks by which the black bull-calf was recognized, the manner of his conception by a ray from heaven, his house at Memphis with court for disporting himself, the mode of prognostication from his actions, the mourning at his death, his costly burial, and the rejoicings throughout the country when a new Apis was found. Auguste Mariette's excavation of the Serapeum at Memphis revealed the tombs of over sixty animals, ranging from the time of Amenophis III to that of Ptolemy Alexander. At first each animal was buried in a separate tomb with a chapel built above it.
Khamuis, the priestly son of Ramesses II (c. 1300 B.C.), excavated a great gallery to be lined with the tomb chambers; another similar gallery was added by Psammetichus I. The careful statement of the ages of the animals in the later instances, with the regnal dates for their birth, enthronement, and death have thrown much light on the chronology from the Twenty-second dynasty onwards. The name of the mother-cow and the place of birth often are recorded. The sarcophagi are of immense size, and the burial must have entailed enormous expense. It is therefore remarkable that the priests contrived to bury one of the animals in the fourth year of Cambyses.

Cadmus was the son of the king of Phoenicia Agenor and queen Telefassa. His brothers were Phoenix and Cilix and his sister Europa. It is said that Cadmus first brought the Phoenician alphabet to Greece.
One day Zeus saw Europa gathering flowers in a meadow near the seashore and fell in love with her. He transformed himself into a magnificent bull and galloped onto the meadow. The princess was amazed at how beautiful the bull was. His coat was as white as snow and his horns shimmered like jewels. The bull was so placid that Europa pet him and was so fond of the beast that she climbed on its back. Immediately the bull jumped into the sea and, with Europa unable to escape, swam off to the island of Crete.
Cadmus, Phoenix and Cilix started looking for their sister, and Cadmus wandered all over Greece. Soon he arrived at Apollo’s Oracle at Delphi.
The Oracle instructed him to stop searching for Europa, as she was with Zeus at Crete. Instead he was to follow a cow that wandered away from the herd. When the cow finished her journey she kneeled, and at that location Cadmus founded the city of Thebes.
Sometime later Cadmus fought and killed a dragon that guarded Ares fountain and raged the surroundings of Thebes. Athena instructed him to seed the dragon’s teeth and then grown men were sprouted from the ground as a result. Those men were names Spartians and were the ancestors of Theban people.
Cadmus however had to be cleansed for the killing and so he became Ares’ servant for eight years. As a reward Ares gave Cadmus his daughter Harmony to marry. Cadmus presented Harmony with a famous necklace forged by Hephaestus and was later known as Harmony’s necklace. Athena also made a beautiful woven textile as a wedding present to the couple. Cadmus and Harmony gave birth to a few children and lived happily as king and queen of Thebes.

The idea of the cowboy and the American West is set firmly in the American psyche. Countless films have portrayed the West as a place of freedom and danger, but, above all, a place of boundless possibility. Though we may think they are a thing of the past, cowboys still exist, and the professional bull riding circuit is the one place you're guaranteed to find them. The cowboys' earnest reflections on personal liberty, family struggle and the country's changing identity paint a vivid portrait of an America both at odds and in love with itself. Through the film's epic cinematography we come to understand that The Cowboy continues to embody the mythology of the American hero, though in an entirely modern way.
The Professional Bull Riders' circuit is a tour of the top 45 bull riders in the world, consisting of roughly 32 stops a year around the US. The winner of the world title in Vegas also wins a million dollars, so it's safe to say this is not some little backyard rodeo. Bull riding has entered the mainstream. Droves of fans flock to the sold out arenas toting signs and banners in frenzied support of their favorite riders, making this the fastest growing sport in America. All the while the cowboys are hustling, trying to stay on their bulls, trying to make ends meet and raising hell... good 'ol boy style!
Beginning and ending with explosive event footage and packed with daredevil bull riding, pyrotechnics and big arena rock and roll fanfare, The Ride goes full circle as it takes through the complex lives of one compelling character to the next. The characters surprise with their gritty cowboy personas and genuine wit.
The Ride features professional bull riders JB Mauney, Amish hopeful Willy Ropp, PBR entertainer Flint Rassmussen, bull fighter Shorty Gorham, talented singer songwriter Leann Hart, millionaire bucking bull breeder Tom Teague and an original score by Brooklyn band The Weight.

Crowds during Jallikattu bull taming in the season of Pongal celebrations... One more use for the Holy Cow in India!
According to Wikipedia: "Jallikattu or Eruthazhuvuthal or Manju Virattu is a bull taming sport played in Tamil Nadu as a part of Pongal celebrations usually on Mattu Pongal day. This is one of the oldest living ancient sports seen in the modern era. Although it sounds similar to the Spanish running of the bulls, it is quite different. In Jallikattu, the bull is not killed and the 'matadors' are not supposed to use any weapon. It is held in the villages of Tamil Nadu as a part of the village festival. The festivals are held from January to July, every year. Jallikattu's been played first in Palamedu,a village located near madurai on January 15 which was getting famous in recent years followed by the world-famous "Alanganallur-Jallikattu" in Alanganallur, another village near Madurai on 16 January. There is specific breed of cattle bred for this purpose which are called by two common name, Jellicut and from the place of a big breeder Pulikulam."

Huracan
Just the Spanish word for hurricane, isn’t it? Well yes, but there’s a bull reference too – Lamborghini references one particular bull that fought in Alicante in 1879. Incidentally, it’s also the name of the Mayan god of wind, storm and fire. Appropriate. Lamborghini had initially planned to call the Huracan the Cabrera – another Spanish fighting bull’s name.
Asterion.. Hybrid Powered car with a fitting name - it relates to the minotaur creature in Greek mythology: part man, part bull.
Mercialago

Aventador
Aventador was a 1118 pound bull who caused a stir in the bull fighting crowd in 1993. He was slain, but he left his mark.
Pagani
Horacio Pagani, who formerly managed Lamborghini's composites, founded Pagani Composite Research in 1988.
Huayra
It is named after Wayra Tata, which means "God of the winds" in Quechua, the official language of the Inca Empire
Pagani Zonda
Zonda is a regional term for the foehn wind that often occurs on the eastern slope of the Andes, in Argentina.
Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 is named in honour of Pierre Veyron, a Bugatti development engineer, test driver and company race driver who, with co-driver Jean-Pierre Wimille, won the 1939 24 hours of Le Mans while driving a Bugatti.
Bugatti Chiron
The next Bugatti is to be called Chiron. It will be named after Louis Chiron, a legendary racing driver who won virtually all the major grands prix for the brand in the 1920s and 1930s.
Koenigsegg Agera
Agera means “to take action” in Swedish. It is also short for the ancient Greek word Ageratos which means “ageless”.
Koenigsegg Regera
Koenigsegg, "Regera" is a Swedish transitive verb that means to "rule; govern, or reign."
Ferrari Testarossa
The Ferrari Testarossa (with "Testarossa" meaning "red head" in Italian)
Ferrari Berlinetta
The original meaning for berlinetta in Italian is “little saloon”.
Porsche Carrera: Carrera (Spanish for "race" and "career") is a brand of Porsche automobile. The name commemorates the company's success in the Carrera Panamericana race.

Zeus is the child of Cronus and Rhea, and the youngest of his siblings. In most traditions he is married to Hera, although, at the oracle of Dodona, his consort is Dione: according to the Iliad, he is the father of Aphrodite by Dione. He is known for his erotic escapades. These resulted in many godly and heroic offspring, including Athena, Apollo and Artemis, Hermes, Persephone (by Demeter), Dionysus, Perseus, Heracles, Helen of Troy, Minos, and the Muses (by Mnemosyne); by Hera, he is usually said to have fathered Ares, Hebe and Hephaestus.
As Walter Burkert points out in his book, Greek Religion, "Even the gods who are not his natural children address him as Father, and all the gods rise in his presence." For the Greeks, he was the King of the Gods, who oversaw the universe. As Pausanias observed, "That Zeus is king in heaven is a saying common to all men". In Hesiod's Theogony Zeus assigns the various gods their roles. In the Homeric Hymns he is referred to as the chieftain of the gods.
His symbols are the thunderbolt, eagle, bull, and oak. In addition to his Indo-European inheritance, the classical "cloud-gatherer" also derives certain iconographic traits from the cultures of the Ancient Near East, such as the scepter. Zeus is frequently depicted by Greek artists in one of two poses: standing, striding forward, with a thunderbolt leveled in his raised right hand, or seated in majesty.

RED Bulls' eye
*******************
The red giant star Aldebaran 65 light-years, the brightest star in the constellation and the 14th brightest star in the sky, is known as Taurus’ Eye. It is the brightest object in the V-shaped asterism known as Hyades that makes up the bull’s face. The orange-hued star is often described as fiery or bloodshot and glaring at Orion the Hunter, which lies just to its southwest.
Mythology
************************************
When Zeus fell in love with the Phoenician princess Europa, he transformed himself into a white bull with golden horns to whisk her away to Crete.
While Taurus is prominent in Greek mythology, he also plays a role in the mythologies of Ancient Babylon and Egypt.
Taurus, located between the constellations Aries and Gemini, plays a key role in astrology, which is not a science. Taurus is the second sign in the Zodiac and represents those born between April 20 and May 20. The traits of those born under the sign includepracticality and stubborness.
Egyptian mythology

The gods descended from the belt of Orion and Sirius– the brightest star in the sky. The ancient Egyptian civilization firmly believed that from Sirius and Orion beings came in the form of humans– Osiris and Isis and they instigated the human race.

Documentary ancient Egyptian - Book Of The Dead - Full Documentaries Films
The Book of the Dead is the common name for the ancient Egyptian funerary texts known as The Book of Coming [or Going] Forth By Day. The name "Book of the Dead" was the invention of the German Egyptologist Karl Richard Lepsius, who published a selection of some texts in 1842. Religion guided every aspect of Egyptian life. Egyptian religion was based on polytheism, or the worship of many deities. The Egyptians had as many as 2000 gods and goddesses each representing characteristics of a specific earthly force, combined with a heavenly power. Often gods and goddesses were represented as part human and part animal. They considered animals such as the bull, the cat, and the crocodile to be holy. Their two chief gods were Amon-Ra and Osiris. Amon-Ra was believed to be the sun god and the lord of the universe.
Osiris was the god of the underworld and was the god that made a peaceful afterlife possible.
The Egyptian "Book of the Dead" contains the major ideas and beliefs in the ancient Egyptian religion.

Season 1 Episode 12
EPISODE SUMMARY:
Theseus discovers he's the son of the king of Athens. In a dream, a pigeon reveals that he must beat a terrible opponent, half human and half bull Minotaur . With the help of Ariadne , daughter of King Minos , he faces his opponent in a maze. Animated series based on the work of Laura Geringer , Myth Men: Guardians of the Legend.
Theseus was a founder-hero, like Perseus, Cadmus, or Heracles (Hercules), all of whom battled and overcame foes that were identified with an archaic religious and social order.[2] As Heracles was the Dorian hero, Theseus was a founding hero, considered by Athenians as their own great reformer: his name comes from the same root as θεσμός ("thesmos"), Greek for "The Gathering". The myths surrounding Theseus—his journeys, exploits, and family—have provided material for fiction throughout the ages.

Greek Mythology is the body of myths and teachings that belong to the ancient Greeks, concerning their gods and heroes, the nature of the world, and the origins and significance of their own cult and ritual practices. It was a part of the religion in ancient Greece and is part of religion in modern Greece and around the world, known as Hellenismos. Modern scholars refer to and study the myths in an attempt to throw light on the religious and political institutions of Ancient Greece and its civilization, and to gain understanding of the nature of myth-making itself.[1]
Greek mythology is explicitly embodied in a large collection of narratives, and implicitly in Greek representational arts, such as vase-paintings and votive gifts. Greek myth attempts to explain the origins of the world, and details the lives and adventures of a wide variety of gods, goddesses, heroes, heroines, and mythological creatures. These accounts initially were disseminated in an oral-poetic tradition; today the Greek myths are known primarily from Greek literature.
The oldest known Greek literary sources, Homer's epic poems Iliad and Odyssey, focus on events surrounding the Trojan War. Two poems by Homer's near contemporary Hesiod, the Theogony and the Works and Days, contain accounts of the genesis of the world, the succession of divine rulers, the succession of human ages, the origin of human woes, and the origin of sacrificial practices. Myths are also preserved in the Homeric Hymns, in fragments of epic poems of the Epic Cycle, in lyric poems, in the works of the tragedians of the fifth century BC, in writings of scholars and poets of the Hellenistic Age, and in texts from the time of the Roman Empire by writers such as Plutarch and Pausanias.
Archaeological findings provide a principal source of detail about Greek mythology, with gods and heroes featured prominently in the decoration of many artifacts. Geometric designs on pottery of the eighth century BC depict scenes from the Trojan cycle as well as the adventures of Heracles. In the succeeding Archaic, Classical, and Hellenistic periods, Homeric and various other mythological scenes appear, supplementing the existing literary evidence.[2] Greek mythology has had an extensive influence on the culture, arts, and literature of Western civilization and remains part of Western heritage and language. Poets and artists from ancient times to the present have derived inspiration from Greek mythology and have discovered contemporary significance and relevance in the themes.
