I love the way John Swasey delivered his line in the video. I've yet to hear John deliver a line in such a manner since being under the direction of Steven Foster. Which goes to show that Foster's voice direction was fantastic in the first part of Guin Saga.

One of the many benefits of attending the Anime Central Convention in Chicago is getting a chance to meet and chat with some of the great voice talent bringing anime to an American audience. Presenting the John Swasey press conference from ACEN 2017. Of course, John also hosts a panel at the con where fans get a chance to ask their own questions.
John Swasey started down the road of anime in 1997, when he landed his first role in Golden Boy from ADV Films. Since then, John has gone on to voice hundreds shows and characters with FUNimation, ADV Films, Switchblade Films, Sentai Films, Okratron 5000, Gearbox, Seraphim Digital and Illumitoons just to name a few.
Being more of the character actor type has given John the freedom to voice bazillions of characters such as Undertaker in Black Butler, Salvador in Borderlands II (VG), Gendo in Evangelion, Sgt. Hauser in Halo (VG), Lord Death in Soul Eater, Hoenheim in Fullmetal Alchemist, Sir Crocodile in One Piece, Dodoria in DBZ Kai, Kogoro in Sgt. Frog, Huang in Darker than Black, Hades in Fairy Tale, Zachary in Attack on Titan, Aramaki in Ghost in the Shell, and Jinnouchi in Summer Wars, as well as roles in the live action films 2009 Lost Memories, Conduct Zero, Yesterday, Jungle Juice, and the Gamera trilogy.
Most recently you can catch John in the broadcast series of GANGSTA as Chad, and Akame Ga Kill as Bols as seen on Toonami. John is also very excited to be playing one of the title roles in Funimation’s theatrical release of Mamoru Hosoda’s film, The Boy and the Beast. John plays the Beast, Kametesu.
Currently John is working with pals Kyle Jones and Jay Hickman on an original animation full length movie called The Perfect Khan.

List of Soul Eater characters
The Soul Eater manga and anime series features an extensive cast of fictional characters created by Atsushi Ōkubo. It is set in a fictional universe inhabited by various characters capable of using supernatural powers by channeling the wavelengths of their souls. Most of the characters in the series, including the main protagonists, are classified into two groups: humans who are born with the power to turn into weapons, called demon weapons, and the wielders of these weapons, called meisters. The main protagonists attend a school called Death Weapon Meister Academy—DWMA for short—located in the fictional Death City in Nevada, United States. DWMA is run by Lord Death, the Grim Reaper, as a training facility for weapons and meisters to hone their powers, as well as an organization to preserve world order against anyone who threatens it, including witches, monsters and evil demon gods called kishin.
The main Soul Eater manga and its anime adaptation follow three meister/weapon partnerships—Maka Albarn and her scythe Soul Eater; Black Star and his shadow weapon Tsubaki Nakatsukasa; and Death the Kid and his twin pistols, Liz and Patty Thompson—who act as field agents for their school and reap the souls of evil humans to prevent them from turning into kishin. The spin-off prequel manga titled Soul Eater Not!, also created by Ōkubo, follows the everyday lives of three other DWMA students—halberd Tsugumi Harudori and her two meister friends, Meme Tatane and Anya Hepburn.

Black Butler
Black Butler (Japanese: 黒執事, Hepburn: Kuroshitsuji) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yana Toboso. Since its debut on September 16, 2006, it has been serialized in Square Enix's shōnen manga magazine Monthly GFantasy.
The series follows Ciel Phantomhive, the thirteen-year-old (as of chapter 14) head of the Phantomhive family, an aristocratic family known as the Queen's Watchdog, and tasked with solving crimes in London's underworld. Ciel has formed a contract with Sebastian Michaelis, a demon who has taken on the disguise of Ciel's butler, to seek revenge against those who killed his parents and resulted in him being kidnapped and tortured. In exchange for Sebastian's service, he will be allowed to consume Ciel's soul. The series has been licensed by Yen Press in North America and published in Yen Plus' August 2009 issue for the magazine's first anniversary.
A 24-episode anime adaption, directed by Toshiya Shinohara and produced by A-1 Pictures, aired from October 2008 to March 2009. The second season, Kuroshitsuji II, aired in 2010 spanning 18 episodes with two new main characters, Alois Trancy and Claude Faustus, following the aftermath of the first season. This series was the anime's own adaptation and did not feature in the manga. A live action film adaptation was released in Japan on January 18, 2014. A third anime series, titled Kuroshitsuji: Book of Circus, was broadcast between July 10 and September 12, 2014. A two-part theatrical OVA titled Kuroshitsuji: Book of Murder screened in Japanese theaters on October 25, and November 15, 2014. On October 10, 2015, it was announced on the Black Butler official Twitter account that an animated film for the series has been green-lit and that the original anime cast will return to reprise their roles.

John Swasey started down the road of anime in 1997, when he landed his first role in Golden Boy from ADV Films. Since then, John has gone on to voice hundreds shows and characters with FUNimation, ADV Films, Switchblade Films, Sentai Films, Okratron 5000, Gearbox, Seraphim Digital and Illumitoons just to name a few.
Being more of the character actor type has given John the freedom to voice bazillions of characters such as Undertaker in Black Butler, Salvador in Borderlands II (VG), Gendo in Evangelion, Sgt. Hauser in Halo (VG), Lord Death in Soul Eater, Hoenheim in Fullmetal Alchemist, Sir Crocodile in One Piece, Dodoria in DBZ Kai, Kogoro in Sgt. Frog, Huang in Darker than Black, Hades in Fairy Tale, Zachary in Attack on Titan, Aramaki in Ghost in the Shell, and Jinnouchi in Summer Wars, as well as roles in the live action films 2009 Lost Memories, Conduct Zero, Yesterday, Jungle Juice, and the Gamera trilogy.
Most recently you can catch John in the broadcast series of GANGSTA as Chad, and Akame Ga Kill as Bols as seen on Toonami. John is also very excited to be playing one of the title roles in Funimation’s theatrical release of Mamoru Hosoda’s film, The Boy and the Beast. John plays the Beast, Kametesu.
Currently John is working with pals Kyle Jones and Jay Hickman on an original animation full length movie called The Perfect Khan.

He was a Korean War veteran who had used a pump shotgun in combat, and while he liked the shotgun concept, he felt there must be a more efficient way to make a shotgun than a single-loading pump action. The tinkered with ideas and designs, and ultimately devised the Jackhammer. It is a remarkably clever and interesting mechanism, combining mechanical elements from the Mannlicher 1894, 1895 Nagant revolver, and the Webley-Fosbery automatic revolver. The Pancor Jackhammer was a select-fire combat shotgun designed by John Andersen in the 1980s. He was a Korean War veteran who had used a pump shotgun in combat, and while he liked the shotgun concept, he felt there must be a more efficient way to make a shotgun than a single-loading pump action. The tinkered with ideas and designs, and ultimately devised the Jackhammer. It is a remarkably clever and interesting mechanism, combining mechanical elements from the Mannlicher 1894, 1895 Nagant revolver, and the Webley-Fosbery automatic revolver.
After making several dozen mockups out of wood and clay to get the mechanics just right, Andersen built a fully functional prototype, which is the gun you see here. It used a lot of large cast parts (and weighed a fully 17.5 pounds), and had a very slow reloading process. However, it proved that the concept was valid and it worked reliably. Andersen then made two more with much lighter materials and a much improved reloading mechanism. These two guns were submitted to the US military for testing, and both were ultimately destroyed by HP White Labs in destructive tests. The testing proved very positive (the guns survived a 50,000 round endurance test), but were ultimately rejected by the military.
The first prototype was kept personally by Andersen, and is now the sole existing Jackhammer. It was owned for several years by Movie Gun Services, which rented it to a number of film, video game, and comic book companies. Because of this and its very distinctive appearance, the Jackhammer has made appearances in a vast number of comics and video games.
Thanks to the folks who kicked in to my IndieGoGo fundraiser to help me make the cross-country trip to film this gun! I was not able to shoot it for liability reasons (the owner was not present and the gun most recently sold for $135,000), but I hope you will enjoy getting an in-depth tour of how it works.

John Swasey's greatest line delivery thus far.
I love the way John Swasey delivered his line in the video. I've yet to hear John deliver a line in such a manner since being under the direction of Steven Foster. Which goes to show that Foster's voice direction was fantastic in the first part of Guin Saga.

Pancor Jackhammer: The Real One

He was a Korean War veteran who had used a pump shotgun in combat, and while he liked the shotgun concept, he felt there must be a more efficient way to make a shotgun than a single-loading pump action. The tinkered with ideas and designs, and ultimately devised the Jackhammer. It is a remarkably clever and interesting mechanism, combining mechanical elements from the Mannlicher 1894, 1895 Nagant revolver, and the Webley-Fosbery automatic revolver. The Pancor Jackhammer was a select-fire combat shotgun designed by John Andersen in the 1980s. He was a Korean War veteran who had used a pump shotgun in combat, and while he liked the shotgun concept, he felt there must be a more efficient way to make a shotgun than a single-loading pump action. The tinkered with ideas and designs, and ultimately devised the Jackhammer. It is a remarkably clever and interesting mechanism, combining mechanical elements from the Mannlicher 1894, 1895 Nagant revolver, and the Webley-Fosbery automatic revolver.
After making several dozen mockups out of wood and clay to get the mechanics just right, Andersen built a fully functional prototype, which is the gun you see here. It used a lot of large cast parts (and weighed a fully 17.5 pounds), and had a very slow reloading process. However, it proved that the concept was valid and it worked reliably. Andersen then made two more with much lighter materials and a much improved reloading mechanism. These two guns were submitted to the US military for testing, and both were ultimately destroyed by HP White Labs in destructive tests. The testing proved very positive (the guns survived a 50,000 round endurance test), but were ultimately rejected by the military.
The first prototype was kept personally by Andersen, and is now the sole existing Jackhammer. It was owned for several years by Movie Gun Services, which rented it to a number of film, video game, and comic book companies. Because of this and its very distinctive appearance, the Jackhammer has made appearances in a vast number of comics and video games.
Thanks to the folks who kicked in to my IndieGoGo fundraiser to help me make the cross-country trip to film this gun! I was not able to shoot it for liability reasons (the owner was not present and the gun most recently sold for $135,000), but I hope you will enjoy getting an in-depth tour of how it works.
