Material soft to the touch. similar to styrofoam
Less expensive because few chemials used; approximately
1/2 the cost of closed cell foam.
Great air barrier, but not a mosture barrier.
Moisture will go thru it.
R3.0 per inch
Closed Cell Foam
Much denser, darker in color (tan). Air & mosture barrier.
Good for
outdoor projects, such as roofing.
Adds approximately 20% structural strength.
Excellent air and moisture barrier (will not absorb moisture)
Excellent sound barrier.
May require an ignition barrier if in a public place.
Recommended heat temperature for a workshop is 60 degrees.
Use a contractor experienced in pole barns and commercial insulation.
