Addiction (journal)

Addiction is a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal established in 1884 by the Society for the Study of Addiction to Alcohol and other Drugs. It covers original research relating to alcohol, illicit drugs, tobacco, and behavioural addictions.

Impact

According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2010 impact factor of 4.145, ranking it second out of 14 journals in the category "Substance Abuse" and 24th out of 126 journals in the category of "Psychiatry". It is also ranked 1st out of 29 journals in the Social Sciences category "Substance Abuse" and 12th out of 107 journals in the Social Sciences category "Psychiatry".

Addiction (Medina song)

Addiction is a song by Danish singer Medina from her international debut studio album Welcome to Medina. It was released as the third single from the album on 1 November 2010. The electropop song was written by Medina, Providers and Lisa Greene and it was produced by Providers. "Addiction" peaked at number one in Denmark, becoming Medina's fifth number-one single. In the United States, the song peaked at number one on Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay chart.

Live performances

Medina performed the song on DR's Sport 2010 and during the "Welcome to Medina Tour" in Germany.

Chart performance

"Addiction" debuted at number 59 in Germany and stayed in the chart for nine weeks. In Denmark the song debuted at number 16 on the chart in the release week of the album Welcome to Medina due to a high amount of downloads and dropped off the chart two weeks later. On December 17, 2010 "Addiction" peaked at number one in Denmark. The song has spent a total of 21 weeks on the chart, and has since been certified platinum by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) for sales of 30,000 units. On the issue dated 21 May 2011, "Addiction" peaked at number one on Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay chart in the United States.

The Group was founded with name "A due Carmen" in 2005 by Okan Işık, Aşkın Çolak and Can Temiz. This trio attended Fatma Turgut and Serkan Gürüzümcü in 2007. The group's name was changed to "Model" in 2008. The group's first album name "Perili Sirk" in 2009.

2010 Digital Age Awards - Most Innovative Music / Sound Design winner song composed for Efes Pilsen. The band also won the Billboard Special Jury Award in Roxy Music Days under the name "A due Carmen"

Conceptual model

A conceptual model is a model made of the composition of concepts, which are used to help people know, understand, or simulate a subject the model represents. Some models are physical objects; for example, a toy model which may be assembled, and may be made to work like the object it represents.

The term conceptual model may be used to refer to models which are formed after a conceptualization or generalization process. Conceptual models are often abstractions of things in the real world whether physical or social. Semantics studies are relevant to various stages of concept formation and use as Semantics is basically about concepts, the meaning that thinking beings give to various elements of their experience.

Models of concepts and models that are conceptual

The term conceptual model is normal. It could mean "a model of concept" or it could mean "a model that is conceptual." A distinction can be made between what models are and what models are models of. With the exception of iconic models, such as a scale model of Winchester Cathedral, most models are concepts. But they are, mostly, intended to be models of real world states of affairs. The value of a model is usually directly proportional to how well it corresponds to a past, present, future, actual or potential state of affairs. A model of a concept is quite different because in order to be a good model it need not have this real world correspondence. In artificial intelligence conceptual models and conceptual graphs are used for building expert systems and knowledge-based systems, here the analysts are concerned to represent expert opinion on what is true not their own ideas on what is true.

Soul (The Kentucky Headhunters album)

Soul is the sixth studio album released by American country rock & southern rock band The Kentucky Headhunters. It was released in 2003 on Audium Entertainment. No singles were released from the album, although one of the tracks, "Have You Ever Loved a Woman?", was first a single for Freddie King in 1960.
