Indonesia’s leading Muslim fashion online store HijUp has officially released its special Ramadhan collection, called “Fitri Festivity”.

Muslim fashion online store HijUp revealed its special Ramadhan collection in a show that featured designs coming from renowned designers Dian Pelangi and Ria Miranda, as well as seven rising designers.

The seven were selected from among 89 designers to collaborate with HijUp. These designers are those behind the Kami Idea, Zarrah Panoet, L’mira Ethnique, Yanna Azwar, Belyanza, Box Out and Layla brands.

The showcase, for which “Road to Purity” was picked by HijUp as the theme for this year’s Ramadhan, started out with a five-minute video in which five Indonesian women describe the judgments they face for wearing the hijab and how they stand their ground nonetheless.

HijUp’s chief community officer, Hanna Faridl, explained that the video is part of its #empowerchange campaign that is an addition to the Fitri Festivity Fashion Show itself, which demonstrates the principle to “look good, feel good, do good”.

“The message that we want to get across through this campaign is that a Muslim should aspire to change for the better and that we have to acknowledge the progress of each in doing so,” she said.

“What HijUp can do to support that is by giving our best, through our best collection, so that they can look good in what they wear, feel good with what they wear and in the end they will be inspired to do good.”

This Ramadhan, HijUp also collaborates with Dompet Dhuafa, reserving some of the profits it earns in order to give scholarships to 1,000 students majoring in fashion.

HijUp brand ambassador Dian Pelangi decided on “#CODIVERSITY” as her designs’ theme, as a “sequel” to her prior collection that was given the theme “#COIDENTITY”, which was showcased during London Fashion Week 2016 with HijUp.

Dian said for her latest designs she incorporated natural elements, such as roots, rocks and water, with regard to the “Road to Purity” theme as purity is often correlated with nature.

As for Ria Miranda, she took “Rhythmic is Back” as her design theme.

Other designs in the Fitri Festivity collection included Belyanza’s Zumi outerwear and Azzo pants, Kami Idea’s plaid Fisura, Yanna Azwar’s beaded satin designs, Zarrah Panoet’s long dress with pearls, Layla’s long white laced dress, Box Out’s handbags with wooden ornaments and L’mira Ethnique’s designs with traditional fabric.

“Welcoming this holy month of Ramadhan, we’re hoping HijUp can keep on inspiring all women to support each other in becoming better individuals. HijUp encourages every Muslim to look good, feel good and do good,” said Hanna.
