Becky Stark

Becky Stark is an artist, singer, songwriter and entertainer from Los Angeles, California. She is the voice of the band Lavender Diamond. In an article about Stark in the New York Times called "North American Songbird," Zoe Wolf wrote "Picture Lucille Ball and Tinkerbell engaged in a duet and you have an apt metaphor for the neo-folk singer Becky Stark, who suggests an impish fairy from a faraway land. "

Early life

Raised in Maryland where she began performing as a child, at the age of 13, she travelled to the former Soviet Union as part of a U.S. State Department- Sponsored Peace Mission, a travelling musical about peaceful ecology. For four years in junior high school she was the co-host and head reporter for the weekly children's television news magazine Kids' Point of View Television-KPOV'TV - a half hour show broadcast weekly between the WWF and the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. At 18 she starred in the feature film Willa, An American Snow White for PBS. Throughout high school she studied classical singing and learned an extensive repertoire of classical, popular and jazz songs.

"We Can" is the twenty-fourth single by American country pop singer LeAnn Rimes, released on October 28, 2003 by Curb Records from the Legally Blonde 2: Motion Picture Soundtrack and was included on Rimes' Greatest Hits album.

The song charted on only two charts in the US peaking at number seventeen on the Billboard Adult Contemporary Charts and at number nineteen on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play. Internationally, the song peaked at number twenty-seven in the UK, forty in New Zealand, ninety-four in the Netherlands and thirty-seven in Ireland.

Two music videos were released for the song. One video features clips taken from the film and is included on the DVD of the film, while the other features actors and was included on the limited edition DVD that original came with Rimes' Greatest Hits album.

Background

"We Can" and a remix of the song was first released on the Legally Blonde 2: Motion Picture Soundtrack, on July 1, 2003 by Curb Records. It was released as a single from the soundtrack on October 28, 2003 by Curb Records. The song was later included on Rimes' Greatest Hits album, which was released on November 18, 2003. In 2004, the song was included on The Best of LeAnn Rimes and the Wildlife Radio Edit of the song was released on the remix edition. It is the third time Rimes would work with American songwriter Diane Warren on a soundtrack.

We Can Do It!

"We Can Do It!" is an American wartime propaganda poster produced by J. Howard Miller in 1943 for Westinghouse Electric as an inspirational image to boost worker morale. The poster is generally thought to be based on a black-and-white wire service photograph taken of a Michigan factory worker named Geraldine Hoff.

The poster was seen very little during World War II. It was rediscovered in the early 1980s and widely reproduced in many forms, often called "We Can Do It!" but also called "Rosie the Riveter" after the iconic figure of a strong female war production worker. The "We Can Do It!" image was used to promote feminism and other political issues beginning in the 1980s. The image made the cover of the Smithsonian magazine in 1994 and was fashioned into a US first-class mail stamp in 1999. It was incorporated in 2008 into campaign materials for several American politicians, and was reworked by an artist in 2010 to celebrate the first woman becoming prime minister of Australia. The poster is one of the ten most-requested images at the National Archives and Records Administration.

John C. Reilly

John Christopher Reilly (born May 24, 1965) is an American actor, comedian, singer and writer. After making his film debut Casualties of War, Reilly is one of several actors whose careers were launched by Brian De Palma.

He has appeared in over fifty films, including three separate films in 2002 that were all nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture (Gangs of New York, Chicago, and The Hours). Reilly was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Chicago and a Grammy Award for the song "Walk Hard", which he performed in Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. Reilly has starred in Check It Out! with Dr. Steve Brule, a television show on Adult Swim, since its premiere on May 16, 2010.

Reilly also currently performs with his band John Reilly & Friends and has worked as a stage actor, having co-starred in the play True West (2000), for which he was nominated a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play.

Early life and education

Reilly was born in Chicago, Illinois, the fifth of six children. His father was of Irish and Scottish descent, and his mother was of Lithuanian ancestry. His father ran an industrial linen supply company. Reilly has described himself as being mischievous during his childhood, highlighting an event when he was 12 in which he and his friends stole 500 boxes of Sugar Corn Pops from a freight train.
