Me and a friend sneaked into the W Barcelona (aka W Hotel or Hotel Vela), and managed to make it all the way to the rooftop (which is where the video starts), even though it was just full of machinery and didn't have an awesome view as we expected. After exploring the interiors of the hotel (we even managed to see how the rooms look like, by peeking at them from an outside flight of stairs), we just went into the outdoor VIP area where the bar and the pools are, and we just crashed on the most comfortable mattress ever for like an hour or so.

Barcelona (/bɑːrsəˈloʊnə/, Catalan: [bəɾsəˈlonə], Spanish: [barθeˈlona]) is the capital city of the autonomous community of Catalonia in Spain and Spain's second most populated city, with a population of 1.6 million within its administrative limits. Its urban area extends beyond the administrative city limits with a population of around 4.7 million people, being the seventh-most populous urban area in the European Union after Paris, London, Madrid, the Ruhr area, Berlin and Milan. It is the largest metropolis on the Mediterranean Sea, located on the coast between the mouths of the rivers Llobregat and Besòs, and bounded to the west by the Serra de Collserola mountain range, the tallest peak of which is 512 metres (1,680 ft) high.
Founded as a Roman city, in the Middle Ages Barcelona became the capital of the County of Barcelona. After merging with the Kingdom of Aragon, Barcelona continued to be an important city in the Crown of Aragon as an economical and administrative center of this Crown and the capital of the Principality of Catalonia. Besieged several times during its history, Barcelona has a rich cultural heritage and is today an important cultural center and a major tourist destination. Particularly renowned are the architectural works of Antoni Gaudí and Lluís Domènech i Montaner, which have been designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The headquarters of the Union for the Mediterranean is located in Barcelona. The city is known for hosting the 1992 Summer Olympics as well as world-class conferences and expositions and also many international sport tournaments.

W Barcelona
W Barcelona, popularly known as the Hotel Vela (Sail Hotel) due to its shape, is a building designed by Ricardo Bofill is located in the Barceloneta district of Barcelona, in the expansion of the Port of Barcelona. The hotel is managed by Starwood Hotels and Resorts hotel chain and marketed under the brand W Hotels.
The building, designed by the architect Ricardo Bofill, stands in 7 hectares of land reclaimed from the sea surface in the construction of the new entrance to the harbour. is embedded within the volume of the atrium, has large sea views and natural light, and reflective glass facade mixed object and context. It is an example of high-tech architecture in the city.
The project included a public place open to the sea, a marina and hotel landscape, cosmopolitan icon. The five-star hotel comprises 473 rooms, 67 suites, 400 employees, a bar located on the rooftop with panoramic city views, a spa and fitness centre, indoor and outdoor pools, terraces, beaches, restaurants, rooms dance, and other facilities grouped under a platform of terraces.

The W
The W is the third studio album by the American hip hop group Wu-Tang Clan. It was released on November 21, 2000, by Loud Records. After their 1997 album Wu-Tang Forever, several of the group's members released solo projects before The W, which has a more rugged, less polished sound than that of most Wu-Tang related albums from that era. The album also features guest appearances from Isaac Hayes, Redman, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, and Junior Reid.
The W debuted at number five on the Billboard 200, and number one on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart with 301,000 copies sold in the first week. It produced several singles, which also charted as well. The album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on December 14, 2000, and has sold 1.1 million copies in the United States. Upon its release, The W received generally positive reviews from most music critics based on an aggregate score of 80/100 from Metacritic.

Infiltration of W Barcelona (Hotel Vela): Rooftop, hotel interiors and VIP areas
Me and a friend sneaked into the W Barcelona (aka W Hotel or Hotel Vela), and managed to make it all the way to the rooftop (which is where the video starts), even though it was just full of machinery and didn't have an awesome view as we expected. After exploring the interiors of the hotel (we even managed to see how the rooms look like, by peeking at them from an outside flight of stairs), we just went into the outdoor VIP area where the bar and the pools are, and we just crashed on the most comfortable mattress ever for like an hour or so. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W_Barcelona

This week we are exploring another Spanish city. We are in Barcelona and this video is going to highlight 25 things to do here.
It is kind of hard to believe our time in Barcelona has expired. So final thoughts.
Well, it was a really fun city to visit. Great architecture, really nice beaches. It is very lively especially at night. The only downfall is that we were here in the middle of summer so it was super hot and super crowded and sometimes that made it a little bit difficult to enjoy. Especially at midday or in the mid-afternoon. So keep that in mind. Maybe consider visiting in the springtime, fall, winter.
Well, so what did you think of the city?
It is definitely a fun city. We had a lot of fun going to the beaches. One thing that is really different about this city compared to some other European cities though is that it is really spread out. In order for us to visit all of these different attractions we had to chunk them together into groups to visit them day by day. Overall, it was a decent city. It didn't quite click with me the same way that Madrid did. But that is just personal preference I suppose.
And that is a wrap for Barcelona! Our 5 days in the city flew by, and while this guide didn't cover everything, we hope we were able to give you a feel of what this fun seaside city has to offer. Barcelona is one of the most lively harbor cities on the Mediterranean and after Madrid, Spain's second largest city and the capital of Catalonia. Intimate squares, small palaces and tangled alleys provide a good insight into its history as Iberians, Greeks and Romans once had trading posts there.
La Rambla is a wide and shady boulevard that travels through the old town to the harbor and is where life goes on both night and day. It's also where street artists perform, shoeblacks work diligently and portrait painters tout for trade among the passing tourists.
The Museu Marítim is situated in the royal dockyards of Drassanes, that were built when the city was at its zenith. Its buildings are unique examples of Gothic architecture and the vast dimensions of the dockyard allowed 30 ships to be built simultaneously in the name of the Catalonian-Aragon crown.
Few parks are as famous as the Park Güell. With this, Antoni Gaudi created a new design concept in this fabulous garden city. At its entrance, Gaudi placed a colorful lizard as a symbol of the water that is collected in subterranean cisterns and is used for the distribution of water in the park. The city itself is also featured in Gaudi's magnificent fantasies. The Palau Güell was treated to an ostentatious roof with a great array of air shafts and chimneys. But the sight that captures the imagination of most who see it is the amazing façade of the Casa Mila, a unique apartment block without equal. Not a single wall is straight, glass and plaster were used for its façade and colourful ornamental ceramics complete the work.
Barcelona is a melting pot that ranges from Gothic to Modernism, a veritable explosion of joie de vivre and creativity.

Globe Trekker Megan McCormick travels to Barcelona in the Spanish region of Catalunya where she discovers a culture which prides itself on being different. With its sunkissed beaches, and Gothic palaces it’s an Olympian city worthy of the gods and the modernist capital of the world where some of the greatest artists on earth found their fame.
First off, Megan travels back in time to the city’s “grey years” - between the end of the civil war and General Franco’s death – when there was a huge zest for change, to move on to a new era. It stoked the desire to transform the city itself, while the Olympic Games bid and then the Games themselves provided extra incentive, not to mention cash. The finest architects and urban planners were persuaded to take part in this vision. The axis upon which the project spun was the idea to “turn Barcelona around“‘ to face the sea, creating whole swathes of beach from virtual wasteland.
Before the Civil War gripped Barcelona, one architect shaped it more than any other – and he was Antonio Gaudi. Although categorized with the Art Nouveau movement, Gaudi created an entirely original style and she takes in numerous examples of his work all over Barcelona, taking in Park Guell, and Casa Batlló and the spectacular Sagrada Familia, a large Roman Catholic basilica which is still under construction 120 years after the first brick was laid. In the Maritime Museum she learns all about Barcelona’s fascinating seafaring history. Meanwhile, at the Miró Foundation art gallery she marvels at one of the artist’s “wild paintings”entitled “Man and Woman in front of a Pile of Excrement”. Next off, she hits the Museu Picasso - the most visited art gallery in Barcelona which caters to approximately 1 million visitors annually and houses the largest collection of Picasso’s work in the world.
Next off, Megan indulges in some retail therapy taking in the iconic Las Ramblas - “rambla” means “torrent” in Arabic and it seems this boulevard was once a dried watercourse, paved over for public use in the Middle Ages. Her shopping trip ends at they city harbour where she takes in the colourful atmosphere of street performers, artists, and street vendors. She explores the Barrí Gotic - or Gothic Area - which combines the best of both worlds: shopping and culture. This the original Roman centre of Barcelona is home to bizarre antique shops, old bookshops, and thriving young fashion designers. She window-shops culinary delights like Casa del Bacau -The House of Cod - which sells only cod. Along the way she is intrigued by a shop window draped in black curtains – the Rey de La Magia was founded by famous magician Joachim Partagas 125 years ago and has been supplying great magicians ever since.
Next, she takes a road trip out of town to Cap De Creus - a haven for migratory birds and exotic fauna, it was pronounced a natural park in 1998. She journeys on to Port Lligat near where she visits the home of the surrealist painter: Salvador Dali. Along the way she takes in the picture postcard fishing town of Cadaques where Dali used to spend his summer holidays as a child and where he produced his first paintings. Opting for a sun sea and sand session, she takes a train to Sitges which is a Mecca for the gay community. This whitewashed town is clustered around a 16th century church on a promontory called La Punta. It became a resort thanks to the annual Modernista Festival organised here in the 1890s by Catalan artist Santiago Rusinyol.
She rounds off her trip and last day in Barcelona with a cable car trip up Mount Montjuic- a lush natural paradise filled with history and art – where and visits Montjuic Castle at the very summit of the Olympic mountain. Last off, she returns to the metropolis and the El Ravalbarrio where she has a final fling with a spot of Rumba Catalana. ¡Olé!

Infiltration of W Barcelona (Hotel Vela): Rooftop, hotel interiors and VIP areas
Me and a friend sneaked into the W Barcelona (aka W Hotel or Hotel Vela), and managed to make it all the way to the rooftop (which is where the video starts), even though it was just full of machinery and didn't have an awesome view as we expected. After exploring the interiors of the hotel (we even managed to see how the rooms look like, by peeking at them from an outside flight of stairs), we just went into the outdoor VIP area where the bar and the pools are, and we just crashed on the most comfortable mattress ever for like an hour or so. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W_Barcelona

Me and a friend sneaked into the W Barcelona (aka W Hotel or Hotel Vela), and managed to make it all the way to the rooftop (which is where the video starts), even though it was just full of machinery and didn't have an awesome view as we expected. After exploring the interiors of the hotel (we even managed to see how the rooms look like, by peeking at them from an outside flight of stairs), we just went into the outdoor VIP area where the bar and the pools are, and we just crashed on the most comfortable mattress ever for like an hour or so.

Having seen his career start at such an early age Piem dedicated his time to perfecting his sound leading him to share the decks with artists such as Technasia, Chus & Ceballos, Booka Shade, Danny Howells, Xpress-2, Andrea Oliva, Wally Lopez, Dosem, Roger Sanchez, Tuccillo, MK, Sandy Riviera and some other reknown artists seeing himself perform at venues such as Club Space (Miami), Heart Nightclub (Miami), Space (Ibiza), Pacha (Ibiza), Jungle Experience (Thailand) and Fire & Lightbox (London). It was inevitable that the talented musicians would turn to production and his hard work and dedication pushed him to try to interpret his style of playing into playable tracks. Since his 1st release back in 2012 Piem has grown into his sound, securing himself releases on labels such as Knee Deep In Sound, VIVa Limited, Toolroom, Glasgow Underground, Fashmob...
