The 21st century is the current century of the Anno Domini era or the Common Era, in accordance with the Gregorian calendar. It began on January 1, 2001, and will end on December 31, 2100. It is the first century of the 3rd millennium. It is distinct from the century known as the 2000s, which began on January 1, 2000 and will end on December 31, 2099.
The first years of the 21st century have thus far been marked by the rise of a global economy and Third World consumerism, mistrust in government, deepening global concern over terrorism and an increase in the power of private enterprise. The longterm effects of increased globalization are not known, but there are many who are concerned about its implications. The Arab Spring of the early 2010s led to mixed outcomes in the Arab world. The Digital Revolution which began around the 1980s also continues into the present. The Millennials (born c. 1981-2000) having been born before the turn of the century give way to the rise of Generation Y & Generation Z in Western countries.
"The Schizoid Man" could refer to:
King Crimson are an English rock band formed in London in 1968. The band have undergone numerous formations throughout its history of which 21 musicians have been members; since 2013 it has consisted of Robert Fripp, Jakko Jakszyk, Tony Levin, Mel Collins, Pat Mastelotto, Gavin Harrison and Bill Rieflin. Fripp is the only consistent member of the group, and is considered their leader and motive force. The band has earned a large cult following.
Developed from the unsuccessful trio Giles, Giles and Fripp, the band were seminal in the progressive rock genre in their first five years with their standard of instrumentation and complex song structures. Their debut album, In the Court of the Crimson King (1969), remains their most successful and influential with its elements of jazz, classical, and experimental music. Their success increased following an opening act performance for The Rolling Stones at Hyde Park, London, in 1969. Following the less successful In the Wake of Poseidon (1970), Lizard (1970), and Islands (1971), the group reached a new creative peak with Larks' Tongues in Aspic (1973), Starless and Bible Black (1974), and Red (1974). Fripp disbanded the group in 1974.
"21st Century Schizoid Man" is a song by the progressive rock band King Crimson from their debut album In the Court of the Crimson King.
The lyrics of "21st Century Schizoid Man" were written by Peter Sinfield and consist chiefly of disconnected phrases which present a series of images. All three verses follow a set pattern in presenting these images. The first line of each verse presents two relatively vague images (e.g. "iron claw", "death seed"). The second line is a single image, often more specific than the first two, and the third line approaches an actual sentence. The fourth and last line of each verse is the song's title.
The song makes reference to the Vietnam War with the lyrics "Politicians' funeral pyre/Innocence raped with napalm fire". Before a live performance of the song on December 14, 1969, heard on the live album Epitaph, Robert Fripp remarked that the song was dedicated to "an American political personality whom we all know and love dearly. His name is Spiro Agnew."
Flower power was a slogan used during the late 1960s and early 1970s as a symbol of passive resistance and non-violence ideology. It is rooted in the opposition movement to the Vietnam War. The expression was coined by the American beat poet Allen Ginsberg in 1965 as a means to transform war protests into peaceful affirmative spectacles.Hippies embraced the symbolism by dressing in clothing with embroidered flowers and vibrant colors, wearing flowers in their hair, and distributing flowers to the public, becoming known as flower children. The term later became generalized as a modern reference to the hippie movement and the so-called counterculture of drugs, psychedelic music, psychedelic art and social permissiveness.
Flower Power originated in Berkeley, California, as a symbolic action of protest against the Vietnam War. In his November 1965 essay titled How to Make a March/Spectacle, Ginsberg advocated that protesters should be provided with "masses of flowers" to hand out to policemen, press, politicians and spectators. The use of props like flowers, toys, flags, candy and music were meant to turn anti-war rallies into a form of street theater thereby reducing the fear, anger and threat that is inherent within protests. In particular, Ginsberg wanted to counter the "specter" of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang who supported the war, equated war protesters with communists and had threatened to violently disrupt planned anti-war demonstrations at the University of California, Berkeley. Using Ginsberg's methods, the protest received positive attention and the use of "flower power" became an integral symbol in the counterculture movement.

http://www.theattitudeshift.com/ Can women truly be successful in business? What does it take? What sacrifices, what attitudes, what earrings? Joining us to talk it over is Leslie Flowers , author of Champion. 21st Century Women: Guardians of Wealth & Legacy. Why is it so hard to break the glass ceiling? Why do only a handful of women ever 'make it'? Is it our attitude or the attitudes of society that are keeping many women from reading that gold ring, getting equal pay for equal work and running successful businesses.
It is an astonishing fact that, even in the 21st century, we are only beginning to realize that plants from the Alberta prairies contain chemicals of medical importance. Many residents of southern Alberta, such as gardeners, farmers and ranchers, and those who enjoy walking in the coulees, would recognize some of the plants that are unique to our region. Members of First Nation communities are also familiar with prairie plants as part of their traditional knowledge. The Cancer Cell Laboratory at the University of Lethbridge is investigating prairie plants for natural products of scientific and medical value. The discovery of natural products and investigation of their biological properties remains one of the most successful means to find new medicines. If you are an avid gardener, you may...
Leslie Flowers – Show Notes Leslie is a trailblazer for women in business, a truth guide and an SME in performance achievement and mastermind. She spent 45 years in the corporate world, 25 years in personal development and since 2008 Leslie has done over 50 face to face masterminds based on Think And Grow Rich. She says her purpose is to help people find their voice, particularly women ask for what they deserve and get it. She says that what is occurring in the business context today is masculine, and since we have been recording history, men were the ones working and creating businesses and women were at the home front. Therefore, women have developed a certain set of skills over the centuries that clash with the masculine business context. "It doesn’t mean however that (women) give...

[Intro: Solomon Childs]
Yeah, word...
Godfather shit... you know?
Take your mind off it (yeah, what?)
[Solomon Childs]
My projects, this the funeral homes and Laundromats
Hall of fame, for niggas who hit off gats
Late comer, ain't turned ghetto since fourteen
In the hood it's only money that the drop bring
Solomon King, and when the toast ring
You know I know, you yellow back niggas'll run
Talkin' shit, is like walkin' wet on the third rail
My fault for hurtin' ya'll sales
About to party like I'm Bobby Rail
Cop grams off a Dominican in the well
Fifth borough, marquise, livin' New York soap operas
I see more drug dealers than doctors
Neglect, hold a ratchet, but to Allah I'm still innocent
I keep correspondin', wit thugs who needs witnesses
Uncle Wise, 21st century
[Chorus x2: Solomon Childs]
Ghetto celebrities, penitentiary bars
Jealousy, guns, jigga spot number runs
Criminals and deceased stars
Look around you, son, who wouldn't get high
[Remedy]
We make music, til the wee hours of morn'
These grays in my beard grow as time goes on
Nothin' like the feeling, when you're hearin' our song
The best things in life just don't last long
Can't believe it, even little Barbara's gone
Wifey cries everyday, but tries to be strong
We all do things we no is dead wrong
Can't get it where you fit in, if you don't belong
Wait for no man, make moves for delf
You can't understand, I write songs for self
Seen misery and company, along with wealth
The real jewel is happiness and good health
Know cats that had money and now they're dead broke
Straight up clean kids, who now smoke coke
Smokin' up cigarettes and died of a stroke
What used to be respected, now is a joke
[Chorus]
[Remedy]
21st century, my suggestion to you is to Remedy
If you don't know your enemy, then you're already dead
Rest in peace, God bless, the realest shit said (life)
[Solomon Childs]
Last intermission, Body Brighton thrill-ogy
Stressed out momma, Stephanie Mills
Project black house, sell crack to pay bills
New York crime scene, narcotic crime kings
Chicks with the Chinese doobies, gold diggers wit the tight cooties
Searchin' up the candy wit the big booties
Draw part headed, hard headed growin' up
And hard head will make a soft ass
Rock pool old sneakers to class
Introductions, the building of a plateau
Playin' dominoes wit the beer hoes
I thought Pink and B.D., be here forever
I thought Sandy Brock would play basketball forever
I thought Storm Fields would always give the weather
Momma said "never say never"
[Chorus x2]
[Outro: Solomon Childs]
Life, and that's the way it is
Solemnly swear, to always tell the truth
Tell you what I see...
That's what I'm here fore, autobiography
Life... Solomon marked for life, Solomon, Solomon
Solomon marked for life, Solomon, Solomon
