After brutally beating another teen with a baseball bat during a baseball game, Lyle Jensen, an impulsive and aggressive teen, is admitted to the juvenile psychiatric ward of a hospital along with other troubled teens: Tracy, Chad, Michael, Kenny, and Sara. Lyle is placed in a room with Kenny, a reticent 13-year-old, and form some semblance of a sibling relationship. Lyle has problems adjusting to the confinements of the institution and it is Dr. David Monroe's job to get them to talk in group therapy sessions.
Lyle finds himself attracted to Tracy. She is reluctant to become close to him due to her low self-esteem and fear of him. Tracy has constant terrible nightmares. Lyle becomes curious about why she screams at night and later finds out she is a victim of rape. In their room, Kenny and Lyle begin a discussion about their fathers, at which point Kenny announces that his stepfather is going to visit him. After an disastrous visit, it is revealed that the stepfather sexually molests him. Due to a confrontation between Dr. Monroe, Kenny, and his stepfather, Kenny is transferred to another unit of the institution.
Manic may refer to:
A film, also called a movie, motion picture or photoplay, is a series of still images which, when shown on a screen, creates the illusion of moving images due to the phi phenomenon. This optical illusion causes the audience to perceive continuous motion between separate objects viewed rapidly in succession. A film is created by photographing actual scenes with a motion picture camera; by photographing drawings or miniature models using traditional animation techniques; by means of CGI and computer animation; or by a combination of some or all of these techniques and other visual effects. The word "cinema", short for cinematography, is often used to refer to the industry of films and filmmaking or to the art of filmmaking itself. The contemporary definition of cinema is the art of simulating experiences to communicate ideas, stories, perceptions, feelings, beauty or atmosphere by the means of recorded or programmed moving images along with other sensory stimulations.
The process of filmmaking is both an art and an industry.
Manic Street Preachers are a rock band formed in 1986 in Blackwood, Wales and consisting of James Dean Bradfield (lead vocals, lead guitar), Nicky Wire (bass guitar, lyrics) and Sean Moore (drums, percussion). They are often colloquially known as "The Manics." After the release of their first single, "Suicide Alley", Richey Edwards joined the band as co-lyricist and rhythm guitarist. The band proclaimed their debut album Generation Terrorists would be the "greatest rock album ever" and hoped to sell sixteen million copies around the world, "from Bangkok to Senegal", after which they would split up. Despite the album's failure to meet this level of success, the band carried on with their career.
The group later became a trio when Edwards disappeared on 1 February 1995. Bradfield, Moore and Wire went on to gain critical and commercial success. The band have released twelve albums and three compilations, Forever Delayed, Lipstick Traces (A Secret History of Manic Street Preachers) and National Treasures – The Complete Singles. Their early combination of androgynous glam imagery, critical social lyrics about "culture, alienation, boredom and despair" and a furious rock sound gained them a loyal following over the years and assured them a cult status. The band's later albums retained a leftist politicisation and intellectual lyrical style while adopting a broader alternative rock sound. To date, they have sold more than 10 million albums worldwide.

This is the T.V. movie of Maniac Magee. THIS MOVIE IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM THE BOOK. THE MOVIE IS TERRIBLE! However, this movie would give teachers an excellent opportunity to teach comparing and contrasting.
“Bipolar” is an experimental short movie with 35 minutes of runtime, entirely shot in split-screen. It follows the manic-depressive author Andrew Gony, through his phases of mania and depression. The split-screen is used to visualize both mental stages at the same time. On one side you can see the manic Andrew and on the other side you can see the depressive author, and how he reacts to different events in those phases. Both sides have different things to deal with, the manic Andrew has lots of energy and ideas, he doesn't require much sleep and in order to deal with his overage of energy he runs, while the depressive Andrew is suffering from insomnia, he is uncreative, non productive and in battle with his inner self. The movie was made to give the viewer a deep view into the mind of a ...
