Quezon City (/ˈkeɪzɒn/ KAY-zon;Filipino: Lungsod Quezon Tagalog pronunciation: [ˈkeːson]), also known to Filipinos by its initials as QC) is the most populous city in the Philippines. It is one of the cities that make up Metro Manila, the National Capital Region of the Philippines. Quezon City was named after Manuel L. Quezon, second President of the Philippines, who founded the city and developed it to replace the City of Manila as the national capital for 28 years from 1948 to 1976. Quezon City is not located in and should not be confused with Quezon Province, which was also named after the president. It is the largest city in Metro Manila in terms of land area and most populated local government unit in the country.
Having been the national capital for almost three decades, Quezon City is the site of many government offices, including the Batasang Pambansa Complex, which is the seat of the House of Representatives (the lower chamber of the Philippine Congress). Quezon City also holds the University of the Philippines Diliman, the national university, and Ateneo de Manila University.
Quezon (Tagalog pronunciation: [ˈkɛson]) is a province of the Philippines in the CALABARZON region of Luzon island. The province was named after Manuel L. Quezon, the second President of the Philippines, and its capital is Lucena City.
Quezon is southeast of Metro Manila and is bordered by the provinces of Aurora to the north, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna and Batangas to the west and the provinces of Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur to the east. Part of Quezon lies on an isthmus connecting the Bicol Peninsula to the main part of Luzon. The province also includes the Polillo Islands in the Philippine Sea.
A major tourism draw to the province is Mount Banahaw. The mountain is surrounded by spiritual mysticism with many cults and religious organizations staying on the mountain. Numerous pilgrims visit the mountain especially during Holy Week.
Originally, what now forms Quezon was divided among the provinces of Batangas, Laguna, and Nueva Ecija. The first European to explore the area was Juan de Salcedo in 1571-1572, during his expedition from Laguna to Camarines provinces.

The Philippines (i/ˈfɪlᵻpiːnz/; Filipino: Pilipinas [ˌpɪlɪˈpinɐs]), officially known as the Republic of the Philippines (Filipino: Republika ng Pilipinas), is a sovereign island country in Southeast Asia situated in the western Pacific Ocean. It consists of about 7,500 islands that are categorized broadly under three main geographical divisions: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The capital city of the Philippines is Manila and the most populous city is Quezon City; both are part of Metro Manila.
To the north of the Philippines across the Luzon Strait lies Taiwan; Vietnam sits west across the South China Sea; southwest lies Malaysia in the island of Borneo across the Sulu Sea, and to the south the Celebes Sea separates it from other islands of Indonesia; while to the east it is bounded by the Philippine Sea and the island-nation of Palau. Its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire and close to the equator makes the Philippines prone to earthquakes and typhoons, but also endows it with abundant natural resources and some of the world's greatest biodiversity. At approximately 300,000 square kilometers (115,831 sq mi), the Philippines is the 72nd-largest country in the world.
Cubao-Araneta is one of the busy, built-up areas in Quezon City - the largest and most populous city in Metro Manila. I stayed here for 5 days in a building called Manhattan Parkway next to Gateway Mall, also near Farmer`s Market, Ali Mall, and SM Mall Cubao. Cubao is a strange area because it`s under heavy development and gentrification, so on one side of Aurora Blvd it`s rather upscale and luxurious, similar to being in Makati. On the other side of Aurora Blvd, it`s loud, noisy, dirty, chaotic, and rather third world. My building was quite nice, but the noise from Aurora Blvd was insane. It`s hard to explain how loud the traffic is at 5am - and I was on the 7th floor.
I often take walks around the neighborhood but this time I decided to take my camera along so you guys can see what a typical Filipino neighborhood is like. Hope you enjoy this tour. Leave a comment to let me know what you think. Madalas akong naglalakad sa neighborhood at sa pagkakataong ito, dinala ko ang aking camera. Inside the Philippines' Quezon City jail Eye-opening images reveal the daily life of 3,800 inmates serving time behind the crowded walls of a notorious Philippines prison built for just 800. Prisoners search for a corner of damp floor to squat against as they sleep, pick rusty nails and dead cockroaches out of their rations of food and suffer rashes and boils caused by the lack of ventilation and water. Inside Quezon City jail in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, there is a relentless and constant battle for space, water, food in an unhygienic facility. With 160 to 200 inmates crammed into a cell built for 20, men take turns to sleep on the cracked cement floor of an open-air basketball court, the steps of staircases, underneath beds and hammocks made out of old blankets. The p...

A brief documentary about Manila, the capital city of the Philippines. Every year, more than 5.5 million tourists take their vacations in the Philippines, and often Manila is their very first stop. Nearly 16 million people live in the Metro Manila area, which is made up of many smaller cities, including Makati, Pasay, Pasig, Paranaque, Mandaluyong, Quezon City, and more. Manila is where big business takes place, where major investments are made, and where residential and commercial real estate is never-ending. Many tourists enjoy the malls, the restaurants, the museums, the nightlife, and even the beautiful Manila Bay. Probably, the biggest tourist attraction is the SM Mall of Asia - the 3rd largest mall in the world. For more details about Manila or the Philippines in general, visit ...

Sandaya Yakiniku Japanese Restaurant Fisher Mall Quezon City. Sandaya Yakiniku opened its doors at the new Fisher Mall Quezon City on November 30, 2014 and is the most upmarket Japanese restaurant in the mall. To be honest, we were quite surprised with the quality of the food being all the way in Quezon City. Starting with the fried gyoza dumpling which was perfectly crisp on one side with tasty pork and vegetable filling. The salmon and uni sashimi were fresh and delectable and the shrimp tempura crisp with a light batter. For the main event Japanese Kobe Premium Sirloin which was marbled beautifully with gentle streaks of fat and melted in our mouth. The only weak dish was the spicy seafood hotpot which hardly had any seafood in it! Sandaya Yakiniku Fisher Mall 3/F Fisher Mall, Q...

This just happened in the corner of Kalayaan Avenue & Don Pedro in Quezon City where a car was trying to break free and escape from charges. Before this video starts, the yellow car had hit the silver one on its right. Driver refused to come out of the car or put down his window. Police called for reinforcement and blocked the road ahead. Yellow car kept trying to inch forward trying to escape, even pushing a policeman. Then this happened... I'm still in shock at all the damage he was willing to inflict on so many! I hope they caught him somewhere but I doubt it... The video on the Right is from Facebook User Helen de Terry-Glorioso, and on the Left is from Kitt Lapeña. And the rumor says: The Yellow car hit a Silver Car just before the start of this video, and when the Traffic Enfor...
