Savelugu is a town and is the capital of Savelugu-Nanton district, a district in the Northern Region of north Ghana. Savelugu has a 2012 settlement population of 38,074 people.
The town of Savelugu is known as Yoo yili. Which has Senior High School with the name Savelugu Senior High School (SAVESS), a second cycle institution and the Savelugu School for the Deaf, one of the few schools for the deaf in Ghana.
Savelugu: EC office burgled after Limited voters’ registration The Electoral Commission says it is strengthening security at all its offices in the Northern region. On May 8, thieves broke into the office of the Electoral Commission at Savelugu in the Northern Region and made away with equipment used for the just-ended voters' registration. GBC 24's Abdul Hayi Moomen is currently in Tamale and has met with the Northern Regional Director of the EC, Mr Bruce Ayisi.
