The Real refers to that which is authentic, the unchangeable truth in reference both to being/the Self and the external dimension of experience, also referred to as the infinite and absolute—as opposed to a reality based on sense perception and the material order.
For Jacques Lacan, the order of the real is not only opposed to the imaginary but is also located beyond the symbolic. Unlike the symbolic, which is constituted in terms of oppositions such as "presence" and "absence", there is no absence in the real. The symbolic opposition between "presence" and "absence" implies the possibility that something may be missing from the symbolic, the real is "always in its place: it carries it glued to its heel, ignorant of what might exile it from there." If the symbolic is a set of differentiated signifiers, the real is in itself undifferentiated: "it is without fissure." The symbolic introduces "a cut in the real," in the process of signification: "it is the world of words that creates the world of things." Thus the real emerges as that which is outside language: "it is that which resists symbolization absolutely." The real is impossible because it is impossible to imagine, impossible to integrate into the symbolic order. This character of impossibility and resistance to symbolization lends the real its traumatic quality.
Napoleon Dynamite is a 2004 American comedy film written by Jared and Jerusha Hess and directed by Jared Hess.
The film stars Jon Heder in the role of the title character, for which he was paid $1,000. After the film's runaway success, Heder re-negotiated his compensation and received a cut of the profits. The film was Jared Hess' first full-length feature and is partially adapted from his earlier short film, Peluca.
Napoleon Dynamite was acquired at the Sundance Film Festival by Fox Searchlight Pictures and Paramount Pictures, in association with MTV Films. It was filmed in and near Franklin County, Idaho in the summer of 2003. It debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2004, and in June 2004 was released on a limited basis. Its widespread release followed in August. The film's total worldwide gross revenue was $46,118,097.
The film has since developed a cult following.
Napoleon Dynamite is a socially awkward 16-year-old boy from Preston, Idaho, who lives with his older brother, Kip, and their grandmother. Kip, 32, is unemployed and boasts of spending hours in Internet chat rooms with "babes" and aspiring to be a cage fighter; their grandmother leads a secret life involving mysterious boyfriends and quad-biking in the desert. Napoleon daydreams his way through school, doodling ligers and fantasy creatures, and reluctantly deals with the various bullies who torment him, particularly the obnoxious sports jock, Don. Napoleon likes to make up stories about himself whilst having a sullen and aloof attitude.

If you're new, Subscribe! → http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-Looper Napoleon Dynamite was one of the most unlikely hits of 2004...or any other year, really. Directed by 25-year-old Jared Hess and starring a cast of mostly unknowns, the quirky indie comedy was difficult to categorize, and against all odds, it grossed $44 million against a $400,000 budget. So, why won't Hollywood make a Napoleon Dynamite sequel? http://bit.ly/P8Ggsl An early progenitor of the pop-soul/reggae/hip-hop stew that would come to define Top 40 in the early 2000s, Max-A-Million included A'Lisa B., Duran Estevez, and Tommye. Overseen by Chicago producers Charlie "Baby" Rosario and Manfred Mohr (whose 20 Fingers Productions would later score with the cheeky club hit "Short Dick Man"), Max-A-Million's lone release was 1995's Take Your Time. The title track, a cover of the S.O.S. Band's 1980 hit, struck gold again in its updated form, becoming a worldwide dancefloor sensation. Max-A-Million followed up the success of Take Your Time with a cover version of the Marvin Gaye classic "Sexual Healing." The original song's undeniable groove helped Max-A-Million's rather tepid rehash find legs, and Take Your Time was well on its way ...

I did small tour of this nice small town a gem in hiding
There's an Elvis movie on the marquee sign
We've all seen at least three times
Everybody's broke, Bobby's got a buck
Put a dollars worth of gas in his pickup truck
We're going' ninety miles an hour, down a dead end road
What's the hurry, son, where you gonna go?
We're gonna howl at the moon, shoot out the light
It's a small town Saturday night
It's a small town Saturday night
Lucy's got her lipstick on a little too bright
Bobby's gettin' drunk and lookin' for a fight
Liquor on his breath and trouble on his mind
And Lucy's just a kid along for the ride
Got a six-pack of beer and a bottle of wine
Gotta be bad just to have a good time
They're gonna howl at the moon, shoot out the light
It's a small town Saturday night
It's a small town Saturday night
Bobby told Lucy, "The world ain't round
Drops off sharp at the edge of town
Lucy, you know the world must be flat
'Cos when people leave town, they never come back"
They go ninety miles an hour to the city limits sign
Put the pedal to the metal 'fore they change their mind
They howl at the moon, shoot out the light
It's a small town Saturday night
Yeah, howl at the moon, shoot out the light
Yeah, it's a small town Saturday night
It's a small town Saturday night
