Alfred Adrian Wyllie (born May 17, 1970) was a Libertarian candidate for Governor of Florida in 2014 and is the former Chairman of the Libertarian Party of Florida. Wyllie is also a host of a syndicated AM radio program that focuses on libertarian issues. Wyllie is known as a constitutional activist for challenges to the Real ID Act and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and as an investigative journalist.
Wyllie was elected as Chairman of the Libertarian Party of Florida in April 2011, after serving as media director for the 2010 campaign of Libertarian U.S. Senate candidate Alexander Snitker. Wyllie did not seek re-election when his term as LPF Chairman ended in 2013, expressing his intention to focus on the Governor's race. The Libertarian Party is the third-largest political party in the U.S. and in Florida. Under his leadership, the LPF took a more active role in media relations and activism, and LPF membership increased by over 1,200%.
Wyllie is a small village south of Blackwood in the county borough of Caerphilly, within the historic boundaries of Monmouthshire, Wales.
Most of the houses were built between 1926-1930 by the Tredegar Iron and Coal Company.
Included in the village was a large church, post office and miners' institute which was converted into a pub in the 1990s. The post office has recently closed and the church has been replaced by a small block of apartments known as Marion Jones Court.
The village has recently expanded with the building of new houses on the old coal tip from Wyllie Colliery at the south end of the village. There are now 27 modern houses covering the colliery.
The Governor of Florida is the head of the executive branch of Florida's state government and the commander-in-chief of the state's military forces. The governor has a duty to enforce state laws, and the power to either approve or veto bills passed by the Florida Legislature, to convene the legislature, and to grant pardons, except in cases of impeachment.
When Florida was first acquired by the United States, future president Andrew Jackson served as its military governor. Florida Territory was established in 1822, and five people served as governor over six distinct terms. The first territorial governor, William Pope Duval, served 12 years, the longest of any governor to date.
Since statehood in 1845 there have been 43 people who have served as governor, one of whom served two distinct terms. Three state governors have served two full four-year terms: William D. Bloxham, in two stints; and Reubin Askew and Jeb Bush, who each served their terms consecutively. Bob Graham almost served two terms, as he resigned with only three days left. The shortest term in office belongs to Wayne Mixson, who served three days following the resignation of his predecessor.
Florida i/ˈflɒrɪdə/ (Spanish for "flowery land") is a state located in the southeastern region of the United States. The state is bordered to the west by the Gulf of Mexico, to the north by Alabama and Georgia, to the east by the Atlantic Ocean, and to the south by the Straits of Florida and the country of Cuba. Florida is the 22nd most extensive, the 3rd most populous, and the 8th most densely populated of the United States. Jacksonville is the most populous city in Florida, and the largest city by area in the contiguous United States. The Miami metropolitan area is the eighth-largest metropolitan area in the United States. Tallahassee is the state capital.
A peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida, it has the longest coastline in the contiguous United States, approximately 1,350 miles (2,170 km), and is the only state that borders both the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. Much of the state is at or near sea level and is characterized by sedimentary soil. The climate varies from subtropical in the north to tropical in the south. The American alligator, American crocodile, Florida panther, and manatee can be found in the Everglades National Park.
Adrian is a form of the Latin given name Adrianus or Hadrianus. Its ultimate origin is most likely via the former river Adria from the Venetic and Illyrian word adur, meaning 'sea' or 'water'. The Adria was until the 8th century BC the main channel of the Po River into the Adriatic Sea but ceased to exist before the 1st century BC. Hecataeus of Miletus (c.550 - c.476 BC) asserted that both the Etruscan harbor city of Adria and the Adriatic Sea had been named after it. Emperor Hadrian's family was named after the city or region of Adria/Hadria, now Atri, in Picenum, which most likely started as an Etruscan or Greek colony of the older harbor city of the same name.
Several saints and six popes have borne this name, including the only English pope, Adrian IV, and the only Dutch pope, Adrian VI. As an English name, it has been in use since the Middle Ages though it was not popular until modern times.

The latest Optimus poll shows Florida’s Libertarian candidate for Governor, Adrian Wyllie weighing in at 14 percent. Wyllie is facing off against one incumbent governor, and another former governor. Both Rick Scott and Charlie Crist are widely regarded as one of the least-liked gubernatorial candidate duos in US history. But when they take center stage for the first televised debate next week, Wyllie might not get to join them. At the eleventh hour, the Florida Press Association notified Wyllie that he would not be allowed to debate with his opponents. They’re citing a law that says a candidate must show at least 15 percent support in the polls, plus the error margin. Depending on which polls you look at, Wyllie does qualify. But they’re drawing from one of the polls that show his lowest...
Adrian Wyllie candidate for Florida Governor on the issues.
With the presidential elections now behind us, and all the excitement and hoop-la that comes with it, many Floridians are slowly turning their political minds toward the next big election that will have a direct impact on all of them -- the 2014 gubernatorial elections. As of our count today there are 18 challengers to the incumbent Governor Rick Scott; 4 Republicans, 4 Democrats, 6 Independents, 2 Libertarians, 1 American Third Position, and 1 undeclared write-in. With more and more voters disenchanted with the status quo and the continual ruination to our economy and what some see as the continual degradation of rights and expansion of the federal government -- people are looking for a change. One such Libertarian candidate looking to bring exactly that for Florida -- change, chan...
