York University Basement Laundry Room Flood
The laundry room in the basement of Assiniboine 380 (aka 8 Assiniboine) was one day flooded. This obviously was not a pleasant experience but few things are pleasant in this laundry room. It's in the basement of the building so there's literally no ventilation. There are no windows no major vents bringing in new air.
It's so bad there's literally a sign on the front door saying that you need to leave the washing machine doors open after using them. To prevent mold from building up. This is pretty ridiculous and few people in the building actually do this. Anyhow I'm in the basement (which is rarely because it's completely out of the way there's nothing else in the basement but storage rooms which also have a musky almost moldy smell due to the same lack of ventilation) I always make an effort to open the washing machines... it's never been the case that they're already open.
I propped open the door to help with the water evaporation and in 20 minutes the door was closed.. i mean come on people.. why would anyone lock in the water?
