OLD RUSSIAN ROMANCE
"I met you" -- lyrics by Fedor Tyutchev
I met you and the past
came back to life in my dead heart.
Remembering a golden time,
my heart became so warm.
Just as in late autumn
there are days, the transient hour,
when suddenly spring wafts again
and something stirs within us,
so, winnowed within by the breath
of fullness my soul knew in those years,
with a rapture I thought I'd forgotten,
I stare into your dear face.

Remembering a golden time,

Just as in late autumn
there are days, the transient hour,

and something stirs within us,

of fullness my soul knew in those years,
with a rapture I thought I'd forgotten,
I stare into your dear face.
As if we'd been apart for ages
I stare at you and think I'm dreaming,
and suddenly sounds unsilenced in me
could be heard within me, but louder!
That was more than reminiscence:
my life began to talk once more,
as did in you that very same charm,
as did in my soul that very same love!

Sometimes people come into your life
and you know right away that they were
meant to be there... to serve some
sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or
help figure out who you are or who you
want to become. You never know who
these people may be but when you look
eyes with them, you know that every
moment that you are with them, they
will affect your life in some profound
way. And sometimes things happen to
you at the time that may seem horrible,
painful and unfair, but in reflection
you realize that without overcoming
those obstacles you would have never
realized your potential, strength,
will power or heart.
Everything happens for a reason!
Nothing happens by chance or by means
of good luck. Illness, injury, love,
lost moments of true greatness and sheer
stupidity all occur to test the limits
of your soul. Without these small
tests, life would be like a smoothly
paved, straight, flat road to nowhere,
safe and comfortable but dull and
utterly pointless.
The people you meet affect your life.
The successes and downfalls that you
experience can create who you are, and
the bad experiences can be learned
from.... In fact, they are probably the
most poignant and important ones.
If someone hurts you, betrays you or
breaks your heart, forgive them because
they have helped you learn about trust
and the importance of being cautious
to whom you open your heart. If someone
loves you, love them back unconditionally
not only because they love you, but
also because they are teaching you to
love and open your heart and eyes to
little things.
MAKE EVERYDAY COUNT! Appreciate every moment and take from it everything
that you possibly can, for you may never
be able to experience it again. Talk to people who you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, even if it doesn't seem right because you are too young or too far, just follow your heart. Surround yourself with those who make you smile, laugh, and make you happy.
Break free and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you. Create your own life then LET GO and LIVE IT!

Rudy Parris, Native American country singer/songwriter, debuts with his album, “Makin’ My Way.” Rudy’s appearances on NBC’s The Voice as a Team Blake (Shelton) member brought him into the homes of millions of viewers.
“He damn sure may not look country, but country’s still in there, man!” ~Blake Shelton
“Rudy has a soulful, native spirit and authentic voice.” ~Steven Tyler
Rudy’s “Makin’ My Way” album was recorded in the historic Capitol Records Studios and features guest appearances by Hank Williams III, 4-Time Grammy Winner Little Joe (y la familia), Michael Madsen, Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers/Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee/Grammy winner), Pete Anderson (Dwight Yoakam), and a host of Nashville’s finest musicians.
As a Visalia, CA, native, Rudy is of Navajo descent and was greatly influenced by the Bakersfield sound due in part to a longstanding residency playing alongside Buck Owens at his Crystal Palace. Citing Owens and Merle Haggard as his greatest influences, Parris feels fortunate to have been mentored by the masters. “I learned from Buck that I just need to be me,” Parris says. “Buck played his music, had fun, and joked around. He instilled in my that sense of freedom to be myself.” Carrying the torch for the Bakersfield sound is important to Parris, which is why his producer chose to record the album at famed Capitol Records “Studio B” (the same room where both Owens and Haggard recorded their hits).
In the meantime, Rudy continues to expand his fan base, staying busy as an in-demand live draw. He has toured nationally as lead guitarist for Hank Williams III and has also performed as a solo artist with some of the biggest names in music, including Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Jr., Bo Diddley, Jerry Lee Lewis, James Brown, Buck Owens, among many others.
