Since I was a child I have held a vision of doing this! Then, after meeting my Guru, Sri Swami Satchidananda, it became even clearer to me. I began teaching yoga in 1969, managed one of the oldest and largest yoga centers in the country, the New York Integral Yoga Institute, for 5 years, have been training great yoga instructors for 20 years, and moved to Princeton, New Jersey 16 years ago. When coming to Princeton, I dreamed of establishing special yoga works that would help many, especially helping share the fullness of all yoga has to offer. Since then a wonderful spiritual community has blossomed. We set up a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit yoga work which the IRS called "a spiritual mission." We then created the Princeton Integral Yoga Institute 7 years ago. ::The NEW Princeton Integral Yoga Community Center :: The Princeton Integral Yoga Community Center will be located at the Princeton Shopping Center at the heart of Princeton. What the new IY Community Center (IYCC) will offer: -44 Yoga classes for all levels, accommodating those new, those experienced and those with special challenges, all at very affordable rates. -Extended hours (6:30am to 9:30pm on weekdays, and 7am to 2:30pm on weekends) -Open doors during those extended hours! Everyone will be welcome to come in at no fee, take advantage of the lovely dedicated meditation room, "The Oasis," or hang out in "The Nook," a comfortable room with a spiritual library and places to sit to have tea alone or with friends. -Free guided meditations in "The Oasis" weekdays both morning and evening. -Free weekly study of the Bhagavad Gita. -Free-yoga-for-all on Community Yoga Day, the 2nd Saturday of each month. -Free monthly Enlightened Readings Bookclub gathering. -Free monthly kirtan chanting evening. -Free monthly Nataraj Dance Party and so much more!
