Plot:
The President of the United States will be arriving by train in the town of Suddenly where he plans to then be driven to a nearby lodge. The Sheriff, Tod Shaw, has everything under control and with the assistance of the State Police, has set up a reasonable security plan. Soon, however, Shaw is taken prisoner by John Baron in the home of Pop Benson. Baron and his henchmen gained access to Benson's home by posing as FBI agents. The house provides perfect line of sight to the train station and Baron is there for only one reason: to assassinate the President. Baron has no political agenda and is simply a killer for hire but it's left to the Sheriff, Benson and Benson's daughter-in-law Ellen to stop him.

"Suddenly" (De Repente) es un pueblo de California en el que nunca pasa nada. Antiguamente era transitado por todo tipo de bandidos y buscavidas, y de ahí el nombre, "Suddenly", por que todo pasaba de repente.
Próximamente, "Suddenly" será visitado por el presidente de los Estados Unidos, y una brigada del FBI se instala previamente en el pueblo para abortar alguna posible operación para asesinar al Presidente.
Una de las películas con las que Frank Sinatra fué trabajando poco a poco su talento como actor de cine , trascendiendo del mercado musical al cinematográfico, con un talento muy superior al de otras estrellas de la canción que luego en la gran pantalla, no daban de sí nada más que el nombre.
Frank Sinatra, "La Voz" de Hoboken, se labró paralelamente a su carrera musical, la cual ya lo elevó al Olimpo de los Dioses, una carrera como actor nada envidiable, llegando a ganar un Óscar como mejor actor secundario en "De aquí a la Eternidad", y dejar sobre la mesa títulos memorables como "El Hombre del Brazo de Oro" (1955) u "Ocean's Eleven" (1960).

Frank Sinatra plays a Presidential assassin in the 1954 film "Suddenly", co-starring Sterling Hayden, James Gleason, and Nancy Gates.
"Suddenly" is considered to be a "B" movie, but it rises above that level, in my opinion. It's really a darn good film, with Sinatra giving a first-rate performance as a hired killer.
The link below includes information about this movie as it (possibly) relates to President John F. Kennedy's assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald. Like almost everything else associated with JFK's murder, there is controversy over this "Suddenly" topic as well -- with the controversy being the question of whether or not Oswald watched this film on television a few weeks before the President was killed.
I don't know whether Oswald saw this movie on TV in October 1963 or not, but it's an interesting thing to ponder nonetheless (as Vincent Bugliosi does in the text linked below):

Suddenly (1954) is an American film noir directed by Lewis Allen with a screenplay written by Richard Sale. The drama features Frank Sinatra, Sterling Hayden, James Gleason and Nancy Gates, among others.
The tranquility of a small town is jarred when the U.S. President is scheduled to pass through and a hired assassin takes over the Benson home as a perfect location to ambush the president.
In post-war America, the President of the United States is scheduled to journey through the small town of Suddenly, California. Claiming to be checking up on security prior to his arrival, a group of FBI agents arrive at the home of the Bensons, on top of a hill that looks down upon the station where the Presidential train is due to stop. However, they soon turn out to be assassins led by the ruthless John Baron (Frank Sinatra), who take over the house and hold the family hostage.
Sheriff Tod Shaw (Sterling Hayden) arrives with Dan Carney (Willis Bouchey), a Secret Service agent in charge of the President's security detail. When he does, Baron and his gangsters shoot Carney and a bullet fractures Shaw's arm.

Plot: The President of the United States will be arriving by train in the town of Suddenly where he plans to then be driven to a nearby lodge. The Sheriff, Tod Shaw, has everything under control and with the assistance of the State Police, has set up a reasonable security plan. Soon, however, Shaw is taken prisoner by John Baron in the home of Pop Benson. Baron and his henchmen gained access to Benson's home by posing as FBI agents. The house provides perfect line of sight to the train station and Baron is there for only one reason: to assassinate the President. Baron has no political agenda and is simply a killer for hire but it's left to the Sheriff, Benson and Benson's daughter-in-law Ellen to stop him.
