One in ten death row inmates are innocent. In Arizona and Texas, the execution capital of America, we hear from two inmates who have spent years awaiting the lethal injection for crimes they deny committing.
"There are plenty of people here who think if you're guilty of murder you should be taken out back and hung from the nearest tree", says Sara Kinney from the Houston Prosecutor's Office. Yet those sentenced to death cost the taxpayer 2 million dollars each, a far higher sum than life imprisonment. "You can hear people crying in the night here. It's difficult to watch people die over and over", says inmate Hank Skinner. For 19 years he has been held in isolation. Three years ago he was just 10 minutes away from execution when the Supreme Court said there was insufficient DNA evidence and delayed his sentence. "We have a system where you're supposed to be presumed innocent. When somebody gets charged here, they're presumed guilty", says lawyer Mike Kimerer.

Today, there are over 50 countries around the world
which continue to use the death penalty.
Individuals who break the law can face a firing squad in China,
Lethal injection in the USA,
And a hangman's noose in Singapore.
It is only a decade since capital punishment
was finally removed from British law
For centuries, states carried out executions
and capital punishment was defended as a
deterrent against crime, retribution against those who broke
society's rules.
The news would be put over there like:
A hood put over their head, and the cart
would drive away leaving them to dangle,
and to gradually, slowly, up to thirty
minutes, to strangle to death.
For over two-Hundred years a moral battle waged
about whether the state has the right to execute.
A powerful Liberal elite emerged
determined to abolish the death penalty.
The death penalty is inhuman and degrading
when you see how it is carried out and the
procedures that are necessary.
But the vast majority of public opinion has continued to
demand the ultimate punishment.
There are certain sources of murder that are
so premeditated, so violent
and so shocking that, in the interest of maintaining
confidence in the rule of law, the only appropriate punishment
is the death penalty.
This debate has shaped our ideas about how a civilized society
should punish its citizens in the Twenty-First century.
The word "Punishment" comes from the same root as "Pain".
It is in it's essential conception, painful, if it is not painful, it is
not punishment.

Capital punishment, the death penalty, death sentence, or execution is a legal process whereby a person is put to death by the state as a punishment for a crime. Crimes that can result in a death penalty are known as capital crimes or capital offences. The term capital originates from the Latin capitalis, literally "regarding the head" (referring to execution by beheading).
Capital punishment has in the past been practised by most societies (one notable exception being Kievan Rus); currently only 58 nations actively practice it, and 97 countries have abolished it (the remainder have not used it for 10 years or allow it only in exceptional circumstances such as wartime). It is a matter of active controversy in various countries and states, and positions can vary within a single political ideology or cultural region. In the European Union member states, Article 2 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union prohibits the use of capital punishment.
Currently Amnesty International considers most countries abolitionist. The UN General Assembly has adopted, in 2007, 2008 and 2010, non-binding resolutions calling for a global moratorium on executions, with a view to eventual abolition. Although many nations have abolished capital punishment, over 60% of the world's population live in countries where executions take place, as the People's Republic of China, India, the United States of America and Indonesia, the four most-populous countries in the world, continue to apply the death penalty (although in India, Indonesia and many US states it is only used rarely). Each of these four nations voted against the General Assembly resolutions.

"There are plenty of people here who think if you're guilty of murder you should be taken out back and hung from the nearest tree", says Sara Kinney from the Houston Prosecutor's Office. Yet those sentenced to death cost the taxpayer 2 million dollars each, a far higher sum than life imprisonment. "You can hear people crying in the night here. It's difficult to watch people die over and over", says inmate Hank Skinner. For 19 years he has been held in isolation. Three years ago he was just 10 minutes away from execution when the Supreme Court said there was insufficient DNA evidence and delayed his sentence. "We have a system where you're supposed to be presumed innocent. When somebody gets charged here, they're presumed guilty", says lawyer Mike Kimerer.

Today, there are over 50 countries around the world
which continue to use the death penalty.
Individuals who break the law can face a firing squad in China,
Lethal injection in the USA,
And a hangman's noose in Singapore.
It is only a decade since capital punishment
was finally removed from British law
For centuries, states carried out executions
and capital punishment was defended as a
deterrent against crime, retribution against those who broke
society's rules.
The news would be put over there like:
A hood put over their head, and the cart
would drive away leaving them to dangle,
and to gradually, slowly, up to thirty
minutes, to strangle to death.
For over two-Hundred years a moral battle waged
about whether the state has the right to execute.
A powerful Liberal elite emerged
determined to abolish the death penalty.
The death penalty is inhuman and degrading
when you see how it is carried out and the
procedures that are necessary.
But the vast majority of public opinion has continued to
demand the ultimate punishment.
There are certain sources of murder that are
so premeditated, so violent
and so shocking that, in the interest of maintaining
confidence in the rule of law, the only appropriate punishment
is the death penalty.
This debate has shaped our ideas about how a civilized society
should punish its citizens in the Twenty-First century.
The word "Punishment" comes from the same root as "Pain".
It is in it's essential conception, painful, if it is not painful, it is
not punishment.

The United States is one of two remaining industrialized nations to still use death as a form of punishment. There are approximately 3,000 prisoners currently living on Death Row. No other country in the world had this many of it's citizens awaiting execution. If you support capital punishment, you support absolute political control at its sickest extreme. Why must we continue to MURDER those who've been convicted of MURDER enforced under the lie that it's a deterrent to MURDER justifies their fucking murder. Sentenced to die. Sentenced to death. Capital punishment. A tool of the terrorist. It's nothing more than a political weapon. It's not a deterrent. It's not prevention. Kill one man, spare another. Our justice system is based on color. Examine the facts. You have to face it. The American death penalty is fucking racist. Abolish capital punishment now. Oppose the murders that state allows. Capital punishment is American's crime. An eye for an eye will leave the whole world blind. Politicians who seek enhancement look towards murder for career advancement. They prey on fear and insecurity to win support of the majority. Endorsing murder under false preceptions. Being tough on crime helps win elections. They're playing god. They have no right. It's premeditated political sacrifice. It's not about murder or a crime committed. Not what was done but who fucking did it. It's not about law or even justice. It's about race and economic status. You can't judge a person by a stereotyped race. You have to look at the individual case. No life's returned by an execution. Another death is no solution. Their justice system is just our burden. The way they treat the average person. What about murder by government agents. Not capital punishment or even containment. These political pawns get away with murder. They're servants to the New World Order. You'll see no outside intervention. Not a single death recommendation.
