This video is a combination of two different hikes with different groups of people.

Two words that comes to mind whenever I think of nature - grounded and presence.
We live in a world full of noises and influences, and a retreat to nature is a perfect way to unplug ourselves and break away from our repetitive, autopilot lives.
With all the noises gone, this gives us the space to contemplate, reflect and ponder upon our purpose in life, to weigh all the influences that we've fed our minds with and how do they fit in with our values.
It re-centers you, if you will.
A legend often associated with the mountain is of two beautiful princesses of heaven, Santubong and Sejinjang. Santubong was an expert weaver while Sejinjang was an excellent rice tresher. When war broke out between two villages, Kampung Pasir Putih and Kampung Pasir Kuning, the King of Heaven sent the princesses to keep peace in both villages. The villagers saw both beautiful princesses and stopped the war. After the war, both princesses taught the villagers their expertise and both villages began to trade and become prosperous. Many princes heard of them and came from the whole island to marry them, but all was denied by them. On day, a handsome prince came, and the princesses had a quarrel and exchange blows because both of them fell in love with the prince. Sejinjang swung her fresher which hit Santubong's cheek. Santubong threw her weaver at Sejinjang, hitting her in the head. Putting an end to the quarrel, the King of Heaven cursed both of them into mountains. Santubong turned into Mount Santubong while Sejinjang wa turned into Mount Sejinjang. It is said that both mountains resembles wonen lying on their back and a crack on Mount Santubong was the scar on Princess Santubong's cheek.

I conquer mount Santubong with a record of 2 1/2 hours, not bad for a person with no regular exercise.
I start my journey at Bukit Puteri which is the shorter route to the mount. a lot of ladder and ropes climbing. The first part of the trek you need a lot of energy, use to walk a lot, when reaching the send part of the climb, use a lot of your body muscle for all the climbs.
Fun trip, will definitely go back again!!!

Mount Santubong
Mount Santubong (Malay: Gunung Santubong) is a mountain in the Malaysian state of Sarawak. It is located about 35 km north of the state capital Kuching.
Biological importance
In 1855 a British naturalist, Alfred Russel Wallace who was staying at Santubong while collecting specimens in Sarawak, wrote a paper while called "Sarawak Law" which can be considered as a precursor to the biological theory of evolution.
Ascent
Mount Santubong lies within a gazetted national park of the same name. Entry to the park is now via the temporary Sarawak Forestry Corporation park headquarter entrance. The issue of custodian of park entry has now been put to rest by the relevant authorities
