You may enjoy also enjoy my website about Tagalog at http://tagalogphrases.com I have recordings of 5,
300 Tagalog phrases there. You can listen to a native speaker (from the
Manila area) speak each of the sentences. I also have definitions for each word in each of the sentences.
UPDATE: It was brought up in the comments that "Ito si Ann, asawa ko" is not a nice way to introduce someone. "
Ito" means "this" but refers to an inanimate object (not a person). Using "ito" is the way I learned it. But I can understand the
point. I think it fits well with the polite culture of the
Filipino people.
Therefore, it is suggested a better way may be to say "Ginang
Cruz, asawa ko, si
Ann". I like that. I would love to hear from Tagalog speakers about this. I'm always willing to learn.
Here is a link to a site where I found more examples of introducing someone. http://www.pinoydirectory.com/tagalog/lesson3

THE
WORD "NAMAN"
Angel corrected me on the use of "naman". (
Thanks Angel)
. In the video, I said it means "too" which is not exactly correct. Naman is hard to translate into
English. A great place to learn more about "naman" is at learningtagalog.com. They have an EXCELLENT and EXHAUSTIVE coverage of
Tagalog grammar. Here is a link to
Fiona's coverage of several different meanings of "naman".

Another site that I like a lot is tagaloglang.com. They have a page about "naman" also.
Check it out here: http://tagaloglang.com/Tagalog-English-Dictionary/English-Translation-of-Tagalog-Word/naman.html (btw, they say it means "also, too, really".
Again, it's not easy to translate to English.
Also, Angel brought up the term "enclitics". I think Fiona (from learningtagalog.com) does a great job in her videos introducint "enclitics".
