DIY Jelly Slime Putty - Rainbow Crystal Clay Inspired DIY Slime!!

I was trying to create a DIY version of the "crystal clay / liquid glass" slime which I bought online. The result is a mixture between a DIY putty and a jelly which is very fun to play with. I finally found a clear PVA glue for making DIY slime and it worked the first time :D. ♥ Useful DIY Links ♥ Crystal Clay Set: http://goo.gl/ozlonL Clear PVA Glue: http://amzn.to/1QxAR6j Borax: http://amzn.to/1qNuiY5 I tried using liquid starch to the same glue and the slime didn't come together. Another option for making DIY slime are eye drops or contact lens solution. Sodium borate (natriumborat in German) is used as a "buffer" in many types of saline solutions and these easily available in Europe. I found a brand of eyedrops that listed sodium borate in the ingredients but I wasn't able to make it work with the glue. Personally, I'm not sure how wise it is to buy eye drops for DIYs since those are extremely expensive. Putty is a generic term for a plastic material similar in texture to clay or dough typically used in domestic construction and repair as a sealant or filler. Painter's Putty is typically a linseed oil based product used for filling holes, minor cracks and defacements in wood only. Putties can also be made intumescent, in which case they are used for firestopping as well as for padding of electrical outlet boxes in fire-resistance rated drywall assemblies. In the latter case, hydrates in the putty produce an endothermic reaction to mitigate heat transfer to the unexposed side.

Specifically putty has been used extensively in glazing for fixing and sealing panes of glass into wooden frames (or sashes), although its use is decreasing with the prevalence of PVC and metal window frames which use synthetic sealants such as silicone.

Certain types of putty also have use in the field of terminal ballistics, where the putty can accurately represent the average density of the human body. As such it can be used, for instance, to test the penetrative power of projectiles, or the stopping power of body armour.

Sodium borate (natriumborat in German) is used as a "buffer" in many types of saline solutions and these easily available in Europe. I found a brand of eyedrops that listed sodium borate in the ingredients but I wasn't able to make it work with the glue. Personally, I'm not sure how wise it is to buy eye drops for DIYs since those are extremely expensive. For people living in Austria/Germany, you can use Pelikan Pelifix, sold in T€dimarkt and over Amazon.de! Borax is still hard to get in Europe since it's actually banned (although I ordered mine over Amazon.com and they delivered to Austria without and problems :P).

I was trying to create a DIY version of the "crystal clay / liquid glass" slime which I bought online. The result is a mixture between a DIY putty and a jelly which is very fun to play with. I finally found a clear PVA glue for making DIY slime and it worked the first time :D. ♥ Useful DIY Links ♥ Crystal Clay Set: http://goo.gl/ozlonL Clear PVA Glue: http://amzn.to/1QxAR6j Borax: http://amzn.to/1qNuiY5 I tried using liquid starch to the same glue and the slime didn't come together. Another option for making DIY slime are eye drops or contact lens solution. Sodium borate (natriumborat in German) is used as a "buffer" in many types of saline solutions and these easily available in Europe. I found a brand of eyedrops that listed sodium borate in the ingredients but I wasn't able to make it work with the glue. Personally, I'm not sure how wise it is to buy eye drops for DIYs since those are extremely expensive. Borax is still hard to get in Europe since it's actually banned (although I ordered mine over Amazon.com and they delivered to Austria without and problems :P).

I was trying to create a DIY version of the "crystal clay / liquid glass" slime which I bought online. The result is a mixture between a DIY putty and a jelly which is very fun to play with. I finally found a clear PVA glue for making DIY slime and it worked the first time :D. ♥ Useful DIY Links ♥ Crystal Clay Set: http://goo.gl/ozlonL Clear PVA Glue: http://amzn.to/1QxAR6j Borax: http://amzn.to/1qNuiY5 I tried using liquid starch to the same glue and the slime didn't come together. Another option for making DIY slime are eye drops or contact lens solution. Sodium borate (natriumborat in German) is used as a "buffer" in many types of saline solutions and these easily available in Europe. I found a brand of eyedrops that listed sodium borate in the ingredients but I wasn't able to make it work with the glue. Personally, I'm not sure how wise it is to buy eye drops for DIYs since those are extremely expensive.
